Even grandma tried to jump to the music! We went to the spa for an anti-stress massage, it was very timely. And hydromassage, of course, and mud. This is what they flew for.
Several times they brought us in small cars around the territory, it was hard for my grandmother in the heat, and even after so many delicious things, it was more pleasant to move around accompanied by the guys. We did not order any restaurants, although the guide warned us on the bus that we should try everything - both Mexican and Italian food. The airport is close, which is also nice. We were constantly in the pastry shop, we took cocktails in bars, Pina Colada was the best, and for dinner there was always some white wine and ice cream. The fish is fresh, very tasty bread, generally pastries.
I liked the room very much - bright, large, everything you needed was: a TV with our channels, a refrigerator, different water and beer in the mini-bar, bathrobes, cosmetics (shampoo, gels, etc. ) We didn’t find an iron, but we decided not to worry about this . There were two beds, thank God, and not one huge one.
There are many entertainments, the territory is colossal, the people are mostly pleasant, the staff - both managers and waiters try very hard, but sometimes they are slow. Internet in the rooms for a fee, it's not very convenient.
What is really beautiful is the cleanest sea, very warm, the wind only pleased. Friends complained that they did not have time to change towels, we did not fall for this. A beautiful big hotel, but everyone can disperse on the lawns and find a place for themselves.
But when the question arose about a big summer vacation (we rested in August 2015), most of our noisy company wanted the usual set: beach-sea-all-inclusive. (By the way, there is none on Santorini) The choice of the hotel was entrusted to me, and I found the magical Mitsis Blue Domes on the island of Kos.
Firstly, I began to look through the hotels of the Mitsis chain, because our friends have rested there more than once and the reviews were the most positive. Then I saw these blue and white houses - a typical feature of the architecture of Santorini, the hallmark of Greece. Secondly, the hotel is located right on the beach and at the foot of the mountain. This view is mesmerizing even from photographs. In life it turned out to be even more atmospheric and impressive.
I really liked the hotel and made the rest truly memorable, for a long time.
I'll start with the territory. Very well-groomed, similar to a park with many multi-level pools (some with sea water, some with fresh water). The pools have sun loungers, but there it happened not to break through. On the beach, we never had such problems.
The beach itself is perfect! Small pebbles, which do not need to be shaken out for a long time from everywhere, sunbeds are more than enough. The water is the cleanest, probably also because the pebbles are not sand, and the outlines of the neighboring islands are clearly visible from the coast (another similarity with Santorini).
The hotel buildings, two and three-story, are located on a rather vast territory, and, as I said, near the mountain - along it. Hence some elevation differences. This was inconvenient for some, especially after the beach, but you could call an electric car and drive through the hotel to your room. We have never done this, but we saw those who wanted to. I think they just wanted to ride, use the service.
Service at the hotel at the highest level - from regular cleaning, replenishment of mini-bars to the desire of staff to help and fulfill your wishes. The food in the restaurants (in addition to the main one - there are also several themed restaurants and 6 cafes with snacks like pancakes) is varied and really tasty. Themed restaurants (a la carte) need to be booked in advance. Our large company, for example, had to wait a couple of days, because the recording was very tight (we went to Italian).
I remember and I want to say thank you again and again for the fact that our vacation in Blue Domes was really a success. Everyone found pleasure for themselves.
On the way to the sea there are a lot of cafes where you can have a bite to eat or just refresh yourself with drinks. Drinks are usual, in ascending order: water, fanta, cola, sprite, soda, beer, white wine, red, rose, rum, whiskey, tequila.
The neighboring hotel Mitsis Norida has slides that you can also use.
Also on the territory is an excellent mini-club Sun Family, where Russian-speaking girls, two Ani, work. Very sweet and attentive to kids.
For adults, they make sports animation during the day.
The food is really varied, there is a restaurant for breakfast, lunch, and dinner with European cuisine, as well as 4 a la carte restaurants. We liked Greek and Italian. In Mexican food seemed spicy, it is probably better not to go there with children. Registration for restaurants takes a couple of days in the evening at the reception, so it’s better to “paint” for all days at once, so as not to guard later.
The hotel is slightly sloping, we lived in the middle of the territory, which is very comfortable due to the same proximity to the sea and the building with a restaurant and reception.
The double room (adult and child aged 15) was spacious, with new furniture and new appliances, LCD TV and mini bar, which was replenished every other day.
The bathroom is also modern and spacious with a shower and bathtub.
The beach is pebbly, the sea is very clean, sometimes wavy due to the wind, but everyone is happy to swim, jump on the waves. Several times I saw a stir because of feeding the fish with bread. Not sure if it's worth it. It’s somehow not pleasant to swim in the sea later, but you quickly forget about it. You need to put up a sign or something.
In general, everything is super, a lot of positive impressions, fully charged!
They brought us to the hotel early in the morning, it was not yet 7. The rooms, of course, were occupied. We were put on bracelets and explained that a restaurant opens at 7, where we had breakfast. After a hot breakfast, even coffee did not help and we were overtaken right at the reception, we eventually got a room around 11 am.
It was very close to the pool, bar and playground. From the sea and the reception was about the same distance. The territory of the hotel is large, with endless houses, swimming pools and bridges across them.
Our bungalow was spacious and easily accommodated a large double bed and a baby cot. The curtains are thick, my daughter slept well during the day. The room is cleaned twice a day!
The sea is clean, not very shallow. Therefore, swim carefully with a child!
On the beach there is a place to change clothes, there are showers and urns. The beach is clean.
There are also several pools on the territory, sometimes you can just sunbathe there.
The hotel has a mini club, we used it all the time, my daughter liked it. There, children draw, sculpt toys, put on mini performances, play games. Two Russian girls are working. In the evening there is a great mini disco.
The food is super! There is a main restaurant + four a la carte (record in advance) + more cafes next to the pool. I liked sushi, they are in no way inferior to ours, shrimp in batter.
Drinks for breakfast - coffee, tea, smoothies. At lunch you can drink wine or beer. Very decent.
The pool bar also has wine, cinzano, beer, all sorts of rum and cola, etc.
Live music is played in the bar in the evening.
I forgot to say that the staff works well, at the level.
When we got to the hotel, everything was exactly as we expected. Spacious halls, white-blue houses. The Russian-speaking kopeck piece immediately gave us the keys to the reception and handed us over to the hotel employee, who took us and our luggage to the room in a small car. On the way, we managed to assess the territory and the number of these same houses. The hotel is big enough.
We were settled in a bungalow near the sea, there were rooms much further. but we walked to the main restaurant for 7 minutes.
At first, the hotel area seemed to us simply huge and for 2 days we came to our room in different ways. The territory is not very green, such a design idea. There are no trees with huge crowns, but everywhere there are palm trees, lawns, everything is very clean and beautiful. Near the bungalow there is a lawn with a flower bed and palm trees. The central part of the territory is occupied by swimming pools and a la carte restaurants around them. The pools keep you cool during the day. I really liked the territory, the combination of white houses, glass and wood, in my opinion it's super stylish. The same design could be seen in our room, which I can call really luxurious. Its luxury is in simplicity, light colors and expensive materials. Large bathroom with quality cosmetics based on olive oil, replenished every day.
The food was "OL", this included all the bars (on the beach, by the pool, in the lobby), 4 a la carte by the pools, a house with pancakes and ice cream.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served in the main restaurant. The food is great! every day something new, there was champagne in the mornings sometimes, and fresh juices always.
If you don’t want to leave the beach for lunch in the main restaurant, you can eat delicious pizza cooked on coals right here.
By the way, there were scales in the bathroom, which did not let you forget about reality and helped you to control yourself in all this diversity.
The beach is small pebbles, there are a lot of sunbeds. There is a volleyball net, in the morning we did gymnastics on the lawn near the beach. In the evening we went to a club near the hotel (walking in heels 10 minutes) - Club Zone, bartenders and DJs there are darlings, they play Russian music for tourists. Timati was turned on at our request)
I also really enjoyed the spa. In Moscow I go for a massage once a week, I liked the massage here, I took an anti-stress program and a mud bath at the very beginning of my vacation - delight!
The animators at the hotel are active, but those who refuse to participate in games all the time are approached much less frequently. This was told to me by an elderly couple on the beach.
The drinks in the bars are good. I can say for sure about wine and martinis, and they know how to make cocktails there.
I really liked the variety of cuisines in a la carte: Mexican, Japanese, Greek, Italian, it is convenient that you can not only have dinner at a la carte, but also have lunch.
The weather spoiled us - there were sunny warm days. Sunbathing near the pool. Too lazy to go to the beach. Cleaned up the room very well.
Now about the "cons".
1. restaurants with Greek, Mexican, Italian cuisine (there is also Asian, but we have already decided not to go there). You have to sign up a day in advance, often standing in line. No, these are not restaurants, this is something incomprehensible. They cook much worse than the main menu, the menu with several dishes is kind of sad. There is practically nothing to choose from. I didn't like it very much.
2. SPA. It's anything but a spa! There are NO dressing rooms! Everyone had to change in the toilet!
Signed up for a hammam. Guide Karina, talking about these services, mentioned that there is the only heated pool on the territory with fresh water. Brrrr. In a tiny hamamchik fit 8 people. We sat on cold benches, almost pressed against each other. My husband and I did not last long, we decided to warm ourselves in the heated pool. It wasn't here. The temperature was no different from the outdoor pools. The only good thing was the delicious hot tea bags. At least warm up. In short, thrown away 30 euros.
3. Oddly enough - drinks. I don’t know how much to dilute the orange juice, that it was nasty (and spoiled all the cocktails where it was added). In bottles in the minibar, a drink with a 12% juice content seemed just 100% compared to what was poured everywhere.
Next is the pool. Pools with sea water, but they also add bleach, so swim and dive only with a mask. thorns.
We had a chic room with a veranda, the bar was replenished every day, and free cola, 7ap, beer, water, soda, sprite. We have two rooms, one with a double bed, the other with two standard ones.
