We flew to Heraklion from Kyiv and back by a UIA plane, flew both there and back excellently, thank you very much to everyone! From Heraklion to Gouves we were taken to the beach intersection, citing the fact that the bus would not pass through a narrow street, we were dropped off, we stomped further to the hotel ourselves, although the girl representative of the Le Grand company accompanied us to the hotel, but of course to carry two suitcases, at least and on wheels, still uncomfortable. The hotel is not on the first line, but it’s even better, it’s within easy reach of the beach, but not near the road, of course, the road can’t boast of busy traffic, but it’s still more environmentally friendly to live away from it. They settled us in a superior room, this is a two-room suite, one room with access to the balcony was considered a bedroom with a double bed, and the second had kitchen furniture with a stove and two beds, as I understood, for children, with access to the bathroom. To be honest, I didn’t understand this topic, it’s not customary for us to put children to bed in the kitchen, but since we didn’t cook there, then of course this room was not considered a kitchen))). In general, the room can be described as follows: poor, but clean. The bed linen is clean, but the towels were not very good, it seems that they were not washed. The bathroom had 3 bars of soap and liquid soap or shower gel, I still didn’t understand, and that’s it, there were no shampoos, shower caps, not to mention bath slippers and bathrobes. But what is more important, mosquitoes live in the room, as well as throughout the hotel, but the hotel does not provide fumigators, or bring it with you, or buy it in the nearest supermarket, these are your problems. There is a table and three wicker chairs on the balcony, there was no dryer for clothes, but we asked, they brought us, in general, if you need something, then you need to voice it, the staff themselves do not show initiative, but it suited us. The hotel area is small, but clean and fairly well-groomed, although not all the plants there are in perfect condition, there is a good playground, the little ones play there with pleasure. There are three swimming pools on the territory of the hotel, two larger and deeper, one for kids, all pools are regularly cleaned, there are enough sunbeds for everyone. Now about the restaurant. The restaurant is excellent, roomy, they cook very tasty, we were in different taverns on Crete, but the most delicious food was in our restaurant, they present all the traditional Greek dishes and are cooked very tasty, all the products and dishes are fresh, the only negative is insufficient the number of attendants, they simply physically did not have time to fulfill their duties, so sometimes the stocks of dishes were not replenished quickly enough, sometimes wine or juice ran out, but at the request everything was quickly replenished.
The animation is very good, every day something new and interesting, well done guys. Now about excursions. We took a private tour and were very disappointed. Not only was the car disgusting and not at all the one that should have been, the tour itself was reduced to a trip to baited shops and a tavern, thanks at least we drove to Lake Kournas and spent some time there, by the way, no one warned us that the tavern will be for a fee, usually such things are spoken out, they didn’t tell us anything, so if there wasn’t enough money, we would remain hungry, but the most unpleasant moment was that our guide began to speak unflatteringly about the situation in our country, moreover, the situation I didn’t speak at all, I was talking frank nonsense, so the guide George, hello to you, we won’t recommend you to anyone, but the trip to the island of Spinalonga is super, very competent guide Eleni, excellently led the tour, told and showed everything very interestingly and in detail and as an organizer - super, many thanks to her. Now about the sea. The beach in Gouves is municipal, clean, but paid, two sunbeds and an umbrella - 6 euros. The beach seems to be small, but very comfortable, sandy, the entry into the sea is also sandy, the sea is not steep, the depth rises smoothly, although the sea is characteristic, it sometimes storms, it stormed a lot for a couple of days, sometimes the current changes and it becomes cool or vice versa, too warm, but it didn't bother us. Yes, let me give you one piece of advice, at first use sunscreen, because the climate is tricky and it's very easy to get burned. The fact is that there is always a cool breeze and the heat is not felt at all, but the skin burns at once. In general, of course, Crete is a very beautiful island, I have never seen such beauty of sea water, I highly recommend it to everyone to visit.
