They returned from the island of Crete quite recently, managed to escape with my husband in June for a week to the sea, the sun, a leisurely Greek vacation life, what a pity that it was only for a week! We stayed in Malia, where we were for the first time, at the High Beach Hotel. Malia is a pretty cute resort town. We heard about it as such a cool party center of Crete, we wanted to see it ourselves. And, yes, this is true, the entire central street is full of shops, bars, taverns, restaurants and restaurants, dance floors and clubs. In the evenings and nights, the noise and fun to the fullest until the morning is a paradise for young people and those who love such leisure. But there is another Malia that we fell in love with: quiet narrow streets, flowers on the windows of houses with white walls and lazy cats on the steps, small family taverns and old churches, in general, civilization is somewhere far away. As for the hotel itself, I can say that it was very pleasant to relax there. Everywhere roses, greenery, quite quiet, we did not meet noisy guests. The staff is polite, sociable in a good way, smiles on their faces, it is clear that they want to like the hotel. And yes we liked it. . Our small standard double room was each fairly thoroughly cleaned, coffee and tea bags, shampoo and shower gel were reported to the shower room. Let me tell you a little about food. This year the hotel opened a new restaurant Elia (olive in Greek). Unlike the main "old" restaurant, this is an a la carte restaurant where you can have breakfast and dinner. Its feature, apart from excellent cuisine, is that it is located right on the seashore. Pretty romantic, I must say, to dine to the sound of the waves, inhaling this incomparable sea smell, when you have a bottle of local Cretan wine on the table, and delicious spaghetti with shrimp on your plate. In general, the hotel, it seems to me, has everything for a comfortable stay: an excellent sandy beach, swimming pools, a gym, a spa (all conceivable types of massages, body wraps, a hairdresser, etc. ), two bars - one by the pool and one also right on beach. Well, what else is needed in order to remember a week-long vacation for the whole year?
