As a person who has been to different places and different hotels, I can say with confidence that summer beach is the bottom.
In short: summer beach is an ensemble of sheds chaotically set up on every free piece of land, old furniture in the rooms, dirt and unsanitary conditions. Poor service and poor food.
If you are not too lazy to read about this pigsty:
Located in a small village, you can get around in the evening, 2 hours drive from Heraklion airport. To the sea 5-7 minutes on foot, umbrella + 2 sunbeds 7 euros at a "friendly hotel", a mountain river flows into the sea there, the water is contrasting and dirty / muddy due to underwater keys, but if you go further to the left / right, then the water is clear, beach brown sand, in some places small / medium pebbles along the surf line. The cost of an umbrella + 2 sunbeds at other hotels is 5-10 euros.

Rooms: Settled in a distant building number 790, first floor, it smelled strongly of dampness, in the bathroom the entire ceiling was moldy, after contacting the reception they knocked out another room. The neighboring building, 3rd floor, room 777, the condition is certainly better, but the curtains are torn, the bathroom is shabby, the furniture breathes with difficulty. When checking in, there was 1 bottle of 50 ml shampoo and the same gel in the bathroom, to the remark at the reception that they didn’t give us new ones, they said it wasn’t allowed... and this was for 9 nights for 3. By cleaning, they mean changing garbage bags in a bucket; they have never changed bedding or even towels in 9 days. Every time you go to the reception, you can hear someone swearing about the rooms, one couple who had a voucher for a room with a sea view were settled in a shed with a watering can over the toilet instead of a shower. Written air conditioning 5 euros a day, but we took the remote control at the reception and we were told not to pay, there was a small refrigerator in the room. Wi-fi €12/1 device per week, €20 for 3 devices.
Meals: All inclusive, but for some reason without water, water is only from the cooler at the reception and it constantly ended. In the so-called restaurant, of course, every day is the same, the choice is modest, but in general it is difficult to stay hungry. From seafood, only 1 type of fish, from fruits, only watermelon and melon. What they do not regret is oils, they shove it everywhere. Several times came across sour vegetables and watermelon. Alcohol is beer, dry sour wine and smelly brandy. Entrance for food in gloves (issued at the entrance) and a mask. To get food, you must first queue in front of the entrance.
Swimming pool: in the photo the tour operator has 3 pools, in fact there is one, the second is in the first, closed building, the staff lives in it, but the third one, which in the photo near the sea does not exist at all, as well as rooms with a direct sea view . The hotel is not on the first line!
Staff: The front desk spoke good English. I especially want to highlight the supervisor in the restaurant, a gray-haired, elderly man. Just tin, constantly with a disgruntled face, CONSTANTLY. Swears at waiters/cooks, swears at guests. A kind of kite constantly looking into your mouth. Remembering him, for some reason, only words come to mind that you can’t write here.
Welcome to hell.
