Rooms are small and soundproofing is poor. On the ground floor, you can hear the bowling alley downstairs at 2am. The staff is not particularly worried about not making noise after 11 at night: a disco, drunken screams in the corridors, smoking in neighboring rooms - they responded sluggishly to requests to solve the problem.
The hotel has a delicious variety of breakfasts, the rest - I do not advise, everything that we tried for dinner was very tasteless, and the prices are too high.
Do not take a hotel transfer to the airport, next to the mini-market there are locals with good cars and for 5 times cheaper.
I would give 3 stars to the hotel, but it is not up to 4.
There is a night disco (free admission, drinks, hookah for an additional fee) in the Lounge Bar on the ground floor.
This hotel is suitable for winter holidays, especially for lovers of skiing: alpine skiing and snowboarding. The track and lifts are literally at your feet, 2 minutes from one of the entrances to the hotel. The track is not bad, as are the lifts.
Near the hotel there are restaurants and cafes with different Georgian delicacies. Chacha and wine with mulled wine at every turn. Locals sell all this stuff, as well as different fruits of course.
The hotel has an Internet, but it works with "tricks": in some places it is, and in some places it disappears.
Upon check-in, a bathrobe and slippers are issued, bed linen and towels are changed daily. Shower gel and shampoo were provided upon check-in. There is a hairdryer. Rooms and a toilet room are at a decent and decent level. The room has a TLC LCD TV. There was no balcony in our room. There is a mini-bar.
I spent a short "ski" weekend in the Marco Polo Hotel in February 2011.
Friends rested in this hotel in 2008, and immediately noticed the changes, and, unfortunately, not for the better. I could not compare, but for myself I noted the fact that the hotel was really "tired". The rooms are not the first freshness, but generally normal. Bathrooms are good. The food is also ok (classic buffet). Immediately from the rental point you can go to the ski lift. The slopes were difficult for me, because only the lowest slope was truly "blue", it is quite short. The remaining areas are "red" or "black". Experienced skiers will have a place to ride : )
In addition, we visited Tbilisi. I was captivated, amazed and surprised by this city. It does not look like beautiful artsy European capitals, but nevertheless it is very attractive, there is a special charm in it! The road from Gudauri to Tbilisi took about 2 hours, we traveled by bus along a mountain road and were able to admire the beauties of nature.
In general, the trip turned out to be excellent, and I wish you the same : )
