There are 2 transfers from the hotel in the morning at 10:00 and 10:30, they take you to the ski lift. You can walk a little to the track on your own (7 minutes), and then go down to the lift itself along it. We did not really like this option (we went a couple of times). You can go down to the hotel directly on skis or boards. You just need to know where to turn, print a map of the slopes and see how to go. If we are too lazy to look, then we went down to the center, went to restaurants to eat, and then took a taxi to the hotel (15-20 GEL is 6 bucks).
We ate a couple of times in the hotel restaurant, I can’t say that it was a complete delight, but we liked Chicken tobacco (with a crispy crust), liver in a pot and khinkali. A little more expensive than in the center of Gudauri, but this is not critical at all. By the way, from my favorites: Khreki restaurant (you can not get in, there are always a lot of people, it’s better to book a table), Gagieti (directly at Smart)
Regarding the numbers. Here are the bad reviews. For such money, in Guduri, you will only live in shacks. The rooms are clean, tidy, there are some shortcomings. But there is always hot water, warm, cleaned. The numbers match the picture completely. We had a room on the first floor, without a balcony, it doesn't matter to us, but if you want it to be, ask for rooms above. The Internet is good, we watched online movies, everything was good.
Service. This is a different story. I have never met such a kind and helpful staff. We arrived in the morning, long before check-in: they immediately gave a room; left the hotel at 17:00: no problem allowed to stay until check out. Several times we were late for the transfer at 10:30: we were taken by our own car. Need hot water in a thermos: no problem. Call the restaurant and book a table: no problem. As soon as we drove up to the hotel, the staff immediately left. Thank you all for being so kind.
Breakfasts are ordinary, the choice is small: eggs, sausages, rolls, cottage cheese, muesli, cereals, pastries. We only had breakfast which is a plus.
Before booking a hotel, I was worried that it would be inconveniently located, but I realized that there is no such hotel in Gudauri at a cost. In the center, decent hotels are 200-300 bucks more expensive than a taxi to the hotel at 6 dollars (50 dollars per week) fully justify staying at this hotel.
Upon arrival, we concluded that if we go next time, then most likely we will choose Alpina again.
By the way, the view from the hotel is amazing.
