Just got back from Nice. Impressions - the sea, only the best!! ! We stayed at the Massena Hotel. The hotel is excellent, very conveniently located, practically on Place Massena - in the heart of Nice. Two minutes to the old town, 7-10 minutes - to the sea, in a neighboring building - the Lafayette Gallery, very close to the main "shopping" street of Nice - st. Jean Madsen with a bunch of shops for every taste and budget. Well, Place Massena itself is my separate love - it is beautiful both day and night!! ! I was distracted by something from the hotel - the memories are still too fresh, sorry. So, the hotel is located in a Belle Epoque building, a very cozy hall, very hospitable, kind, friendly staff. We were seated immediately without any problems. The room is great! Big enough for a French hotel (if possible, I'll attach a photo), with a luxurious bed, with a small balcony. There is a free safe in the room. The bathroom is separate from the toilet, the plumbing is of high quality, everything is very clean. Bathrobes, towels, white linen. Cleaned daily, very clean (and it doesn't matter if you leave a tip or not), towels changed every other day, bed linen twice a week. The room had everything for making tea and coffee, the contents were regularly replenished (for free). You can ask for an ironing board and iron, they are brought for the entire stay in the room.
An important detail - at the reception there is a girl who speaks Russian, of course, she speaks poorly, but in our case (we do not speak French and English is extremely bad), she was just a lifesaver. Although, in fairness, it should be noted that even speaking a terrible mixture of terrible French and disgusting English, the hotel staff still tried very hard to understand us, understood and did everything possible for our good rest. Well, for example, we did not take excursions to nearby towns, but decided to take a taxi and wander around, see the sights ourselves. I asked the reception how best to go, what taxi, etc. etc. They ordered a taxi to the hotel, invited us when it arrived, found out if we needed to be picked up back, after how much, agreed with the driver that he would pick us up after the walk, bring us to the hotel and personally hand over to the staff)).
Well, a separate topic is, of course, hotel breakfasts. They still haunt me at night! There is everything: the freshest, melting French cheeses, delicious hams, the freshest pastries for every taste, fruits, and of course scrambled eggs, sausages, yogurts, cereals, salads, dairy products, juices... Everything is very tasty!!!
In general, we liked this hotel very much! I recommend to everyone!
