This time we chose the hotel "Palm Beach" 4 *, which is located near the city of Larnaca and the airport. And they never regretted their choice. A small incident occurred only when checking into the hotel. We are not Muscovites. To get from Tver to Vnukovo, we took a taxi on 17.09 at 21.00, then waiting for a flight at the airport, flying to the island... We arrived at the hotel on 18.09 at 9.00 completely tired. An exhausted little child without sleep and normal food was capricious. They asked us to check in early, but they politely refused. And even when they approached the reception at the indicated 14.00, they asked to wait for more. I understand that rules are rules, but there must also be simple human sympathy.
We settled in a nice small room on the 4th floor. The main thing is that there was a safe, a refrigerator, a TV with 4 Russian channels, a hairdryer, an electric kettle with coffee and tea sets. The bathroom appears to have been recently refurbished, with plenty of soap, shampoo, bathrobes and slippers. The room was cleaned daily, towels and bed linen changed. The staff is very polite. Almost everyone speaks Russian.
The territory of the hotel is very small, planted with palm trees. Immediately along the facade of the building there is a swimming pool for adults, to the right of it is a children's pool. To the left of the pool is a summer restaurant, and behind it is an unprepossessing playground with a minimum of buildings and a water slide, on which one of my granddaughters rode. There were hardly any children on the playground. Trestle beds with umbrellas were located three steps from the pool. The beach is about 6 meters wide with very strange sand. Then I realized that this is a land with pebbles. At the entrance to the sea there are a few pebbles, and then 40 meters you walk along the sandbar to the very breakwaters. The water is incredibly clean and clear. The sandy bottom is ribbed, and sunbeams play on the surface of the water. Breakwaters run along the entire coast of Larnaca. There is a distance of 20-30 meters between them, and here it is deep and you can swim far into the sea. The vodka is very warm. Small waves were rare. There were no jellyfish. In general, we are in paradise. Silence and complete relaxation (this is not Tunisia or Turkey). In our hotel, cards were issued at the reception to get beach towels. In a nearby hotel, a towel cost 2.5 euros and a trestle bed 2.5 euros. Pay attention to this when buying a ticket. Near the hotel there was a pier where you could rent any boat, ride a jet ski, parachute… September is the peak of the holiday season, but there were always enough trestle beds by the pool and by the sea.
Now about nutrition. We took breakfast and dinner. The hotel has three large restaurants and many bars. Breakfast from 7.00 to 10.00 in the restaurant on the 1st floor (to the left of the reception). The set of products is standard: scrambled eggs, a variety of omelets, porridge, bacon, sausages, beans, sour cream, several yogurts, dry mixes, various nuts, honey, jams, butter, 4-5 varieties of sausages, several varieties of cheese, delicious pastries, especially liked the croissants. In the morning fruit only in the form of sweet salads. Juices are delicious and real. Tea, coffee, cream. You won't leave hungry. The restaurant was always clean, there was enough of everything and you could feel the care of the staff. Dinner was rarely at the basement restaurant, but more often at the outdoor restaurant by the pool. On the first day we were lucky - it was a wine festival. Tables were placed along the pool, where locals sold souvenirs. There was a huge vat of grapes crushed with their feet by two men in national costumes. And then there were many tasting tables with local wine. We tried this delicacy. I liked the wine. There was always a wide variety of dishes at dinner: all kinds of salads, smoked fish, freshly salted herring, jamon, a lot of deliciously cooked meat and fish, fruits and ice cream, a whole showcase of delicious cakes. On the first day, a carafe of wine was presented to each table. On ordinary days, all drinks are for money. We also got to dinner, where they served barbecue on wooden skewers from fish and all sorts of meat. We also tried a freshly cooked fragrant ham - a huge pork leg baked in spices. Every day, different varieties of deliciously cooked fish, mussels were often given... We went to dinner with caution, p. ch. everything was very tasty, but this “everything” is undesirable for women. Every day in the evening a musician sang, several times they watched incendiary dance shows. Dinners were held in a friendly atmosphere. I note that the hotel has always had a calm atmosphere, conducive to relaxation. Always polite, helpful, good-natured and smiling staff who know their duties. Many thanks to them for this welcome.
The entire first floor is a reception, a restaurant, bars and a lot of corners where you can relax from the heat and relax on soft sofas. Shops are also located here. In the basement there is an evening restaurant, a hairdresser, a gym (towels for the beach were also given out there), and administrative premises. The hotel had a free sauna. Across the road from the hotel was a "supermarket" where we went to buy water. A five-liter bottle of water cost 3.15 euros. There was also a bus stop nearby to Larnaca.
It so happened that the last three years we were not very lucky with the hotels. These were countries and cities where we had already been. In Vietnam, we ended up in a hotel where there was no beach, but a descent to the sea along 23 slippery steps and a constant wave that knocked you off your feet. In Corfu, almost everyone had an intestinal infection. Last year we were in Tunisia, where music was blaring (!!! ) all day long, and the restaurant was constantly dirty and bad food. And we despaired. Choosing a hotel is a very serious step. Staying in a bad hotel can spoil not only your mood, but also harm your health. From the current trip there were only good impressions. A very decent hotel. We recommend to everyone. Of course, young people may not be interested in such a relaxing holiday, but for the elderly and families with small children, this is the most suitable place.
We wish everyone a pleasant stay and good memories for many years to come, and many thanks to the hotel staff for their professionalism and kind attitude towards people!
I didn’t have to run and ask for cleaning, they came every day, everything was cleaned, towels were changed, linen was changed twice. Everyone is smiling, everyone is saying hello, believe me, this is not the case everywhere. Near the hotel shops, there is a cafe.
My husband rented a car, went to neighboring cities, it's very cool, if you have the opportunity to take a car, you can visit different beaches. And if on your own, that is, there is a bus stop, you can go to
Larnaca. The beach at the hotel is also good, but small. The hotel also has tennis courts and table tennis. We played several times.
We arrived early, around 9:30, but at the reception, without any requests, we were settled 3-4 hours earlier! This is with a standard check-in at 14:00! But that's not all! we were offered for FREE instead of my booked bungalow room! Own bungalow! The child and I did not interfere with the hotel guests (children sometimes scream . . ))), and the hotel guests and evening events% (if they were, I don’t know, because I didn’t attend) didn’t interfere with us)
The Internet worked perfectly, my husband worked remotely with a laptop, I took pictures and surfed the Internet.
We only had breakfasts - they are excellent, the choice is good, we were satisfied with the quality, there was something for the child, so the mixtures and jars brought with us were switched to lunch trips outside the hotel.
The room itself - that is, in our case, a bungalow - is spacious, bright, clean, good bedding and towels, everything was changed with enviable regularity. I compared the photos of the rooms and our bungalow, so I can say that they are 98% similar, the difference is only in the location and the view of the sea (our view was of the pool and green spaces)
The territory of the hotel is quite large, there is where to walk, sooooo much greenery and IT is really incredibly beautiful! There is a playground, it is not bad, but not particularly impressive, there are just many other places where you can spend time with your child. Even in the same children's pool (next to the usual one - you can relax with the whole family nearby and at the same time everyone with their own amenities. The beach is well-groomed, the water is shallow, the children are just right, but adults need to walk.
The location is excellent near the bus stop, we went to Larnaca on the embankment almost every day and walked around the old town. .
The food in the city in restaurants is inexpensive and tasty, especially the seafood plateau - they are huge - if you are there, study the menu in a couple of nearby cafes and you will understand everything yourself)
Outcome:
The hotel is very good, looked after and monitored. The staff knows how to create comfort and atmosphere. I will recommend to friends and family 100%
I wish you success!
+ good breakfasts
+friendly staff
+ there were few Russians
+ various musical performances
+ tidy rooms
+ green area
+seals
+ cleaning is good
+ free sunbeds and umbrellas to help set up beachboys
+ breakwater, calm water
+ pleasant musical program in the evenings
+ spicy things for the bathroom in small bottles
+ if they don’t find a beach towel during cleaning, they put a new one, you can forget it on the beach and no problems
+ there was a sunken drain tank button, the plumber on duty immediately fixed it at a rather late time
-Connected Room or something like that, i. e. the door to the next room, the audibility is wonderful, an American seemed to be snoring there, it was loud - this is the biggest minus
-tired of walking to deep water, 40 meters to the ability to swim normally, far
-sea view room in the west wing above the music area, music until late (00:00) can be annoying at times
-expensive of course, I bought a ticket 4 days before the trip
Also loved the pool. It was not huge and boring as it happens in Turkey, Egypt and even the Dominican Republic. But I really liked the depth difference from 1.5 to 2.5 m. If you want to dive, if you want to swim under water at a depth, or if you want, just stand in shallow water and drink a cocktail. On my personal list, this is just the perfect pool.
The room is the most common standard. We naturally have a double bed, an old 14-inch cube TV, a mini-bar with paid drinks (we naturally laid them out and put ours to cool), a normal bathroom. Most importantly, everything is very good and often cleaned. Clean and comfortable, but no frills. Is that a huge balcony overlooking the pool. But it's a treat for lovers.
Meals took breakfast. Breakfast + lunch cost 16 thousand more for two. Since we would have to have dinner anyway somewhere outside the hotel, we decided that 2 thousand rubles for lunch for two is somehow too much, and even in expensive Cyprus we can dine cheaper. In principle, they coped with the task. Leaving the hotel, there are a lot of places to eat right in front of you. Out of fear, we first ate at KFC. It is naturally more expensive there than here. Traditional chicken wings, a zinger, some potatoes and a couple of glasses of cola cost about 16 euros. One and a half times more expensive than in Moscow. But it was still three times cheaper than dinner at the hotel. Then they began to go to a restaurant with a KEO sign directly opposite the exit from the hotel. Keo, this is apparently beer, but the restaurant is called something else. Here you could really overeat with one mushroom puree soup for 4 euros. Amazing pork skewers with potatoes and salad cost 11 euros. We easily fit in 25 euros for two for each meal. If only my husband didn't drink beer. . .
One way or another, we did not regret that we took breakfast. Moreover, the breakfasts at the hotel were far from outstanding.
2. No internet
3. Poor attitude of the staff at the reception when contacting for any questions
4. The furniture is old and miserable
5. The hotel needs a major overhaul
6. Very bad beach line that is not taken care of at all, the sunbeds are terrible and disgusting
7. When entering the sea, the feet fall into sticky clay like in a dirty swamp lake
8. Everything is terribly expensive and tasteless
9. around some abandoned hotels with the inscriptions "CRISIS"
10. In general, look at my truthful photos and decide to go to this hotel yourself or find another
