I’ll put 5 for food. A good choice for breakfast and dinner (we had half board): salads, meat (6 types of meat dishes in the evening, including veal, pork, lamb, chicken), fish, hot dishes, sweets, fruits. I can note a really good level of restaurant cuisine. At the same time, the atmosphere of the restaurant itself (on the 2nd floor in the mezzanine) needs renovation and more comfort. On the 1st floor, next to the lobby bar, dinner was served when there were fewer vacationers. And I felt more comfortable there.
Good service and attentive friendly staff. Having traveled to many countries in Europe and America, I will note the staff of the Sun Hall Hotel as highly professional. We had to apply several times in 2 weeks on various issues, all issues were resolved within 5 minutes. Thanks to the front desk and restaurant staff.
Cleaned the room clean and meticulously.
Sometimes, however, they got old towels, although they were cleanly washed (after a request to replace them with new ones, they immediately changed them). For a 4 * hotel, it is important to monitor the quality of linen and towels.
There is a pool in the yard, but we did not use it. Yet the sea is near.
The sea is 50 m. Clean, transparent. A huge beach along Finikoudes Boulevard, equipped with sun loungers and umbrellas. The cost is from 2 to 2.5 euros for a sun lounger and the same amount for an umbrella. If vacationers brought towels or mats with them, then payment is not required. The sand is gray (last year we were in Protaras, where the sand is golden), this is the only minus of the beach. There are changing rooms and a public toilet, bars.
There are many cafes and restaurants along Finikoudes Boulevard, fresh juice and a milkshake (3 euros). If you delve deeper into Larnaca, you can find a cafe for locals: with excellent quality, the price is 1.5 times cheaper. In the bakery Kapitanos on the street. Zeno of Kitia always has fresh bread and pastries (several generations of this family have been baking bread for over 100 years), as well as yoghurts (including those made from cow, goat and sheep milk), cheese, etc.
The ancient church of St. Lazarus is located 600 meters from the hotel. It is about him that you can read in the story of the resurrection of Lazarus in the New Testament. Very beautiful church, solemn services, beautiful singing.
We got to a wedding in a church, young people are beautiful everywhere.
In Larnaca, they will traditionally offer excursions both around the city and by sea. Since the seaport is right in front of the hotel, we just came to the Dyonisos pleasure boat in the evening and for only 12 euros per person (we got a discount) and rode the sea for an hour before sunset. The hostess brought us fruit and champagne and we had a very romantic evening.
When the international beach volleyball championship was held, all the athletes rested in the Sun Hall Hotel. And we went to the championship, which was held on the beach next to our hotel. You could also watch live broadcasts in cafes and pubs.
We were offered excursions to the monastery of Troodos and Kykkos, to Nicosia. And although the summer is hot enough for long excursions, we had a great time in the mountains at the monastery. It's very beautiful there. Be sure to take comfortable shoes with you, a large hat (Panama), an umbrella, sunblock, water.
We love Cyprus, its people and culture. Friendly Cypriots, clean air and transparent sea, excellent cuisine and drinks, interesting culture, diverse recreation, order and safety attract us for many years!
