But if you want entertainment in the evening, then look for another place. You are not welcome here. Everything is conducted only in English, despite the almost 70% of Russian-speaking visitors. Couldn't upload the video of the evening of entertainment due to the large volume, look at https://www. youtube. com/watch? v=c8yYLv9637o I contacted the hotel administration, they agreed with me, but nothing has changed. The hotel does not need Russian-speaking vacationers.
This trip was our eleventh trip to Egypt. Therefore, you can compare the hotel's performance with other hotels. The attitude of the staff to the vacationers is impressive - it is unsurpassed friendliness. The kitchen and restaurant are excellent. As a disadvantage - the small coastline of the beach.
On October 26, I had a heart attack and passed out on the beach. Thanks to the prompt and coordinated work of the staff, I was given first aid. Later, they were moved to the second building, number 2B, which is located near the reception. They also organized a transfer for me to the Euroclinic in Hurghada.
At the same time, I want to express my sincere gratitude to the hotel managers - Ahmet and Veronika, the hotel's doctor. Special thanks to the vacationers: doctor Katya and Yura. I wish you good health!
With gratitude, Vasyl Vasyliovych.
1. upon arrival, we were settled very quickly and immediately offered lunch by a very friendly, Russian-speaking administrator girl, who guided us around the kitchen.
2. the staff, in principle, is very friendly and tactful, always helpful. The rooms are cleaned daily, they cleaned well, water and toiletries were always replenished, despite the fact that we left a tip only when we vacated the room
3. The cuisine is varied, we never went there hungry. I was more pleased with the coffee machine in my last hotel.
Fruits, vegetables, fish, stews, grilled meats, pastas and local sweets are plenty!
4. bar - you could only drink at the bar, but you were also allowed to take it to your room.
On the territory of the hotel, as we were told, it is forbidden. If you want in a bottle, you can buy (for example, beer $ 4), and so they pour it into glasses for free.
5. we caught animation only in the evening, there was a disco and all possible competitions.
6. the beach is beautiful, well-groomed, but not big. Walk from the room for about 5 minutes, there is also a cafe and a bar on the beach, which is open during the day
7. And the most pleasant thing was my friend's birthday and when we returned from the tour, a cake was waiting for us in the room. This is very nice, because I know that not all hotels have this.
The only thing I didn't like was the guide, it was painfully dissatisfied and he scolded us for not coming on the first day to meet him. We are resting in Egypt not for the first time and we have already heard about some of them, we take excursions from the locals, we took it from @vipegipttour, maybe someone will take note.
My summary:
The hotel is very good, cozy, more suitable for families, not for young people.
From the airport, close to shops, stalls, a pharmacy, McDonald's. For a budget option, without luxury, very suitable
Today, we learned from the news that the AMC Royal hotel was closed in Hurghada after the poisoning of Russian tourists. Marlin Inn Azur needs to close too!!!
Our holiday at this hotel was ruined. It all started with settlement. They settled quickly, but the room turned out to be unsuitable for living (F202). It takes a long time to list what did not work in the room, it is easier to say that only the front door worked, there was not even electricity in the room, and there was an unpleasant smell of mustiness and naphthalene. They changed the number only the next day to F203, quite decent, the shortcomings were quickly eliminated. Our vacation has begun! But not for long. On the 3rd day, I collapsed with symptoms of poisoning: nausea, diarrhea, weakness, fever. A day later, after drinking a bunch of pills, I got better. But the husband fell ill with the same symptoms, but many times stronger.
The temperature of 40 could not be brought down even by antipyretic tablets, an obvious intestinal infection, although we drank only bottled water and used it when brushing our teeth, and I even washed fruits after the dining room with this water. The hotel has a Russian-speaking employee Veronika, who helps Russian tourists communicate with Arabs and promote us to additional paid services. With her help, we turned to the hotel doctor, who measured the temperature 2 times and prescribed the pills that we had already taken.
I asked Veronica twice about the payment, so that we could write out a receipt for medical services for reimbursement through the insurance company. To which Veronica allegedly translated the words of the doctor to us that there was no need to pay for anything.
In the evening before the flight, Veronica came to the room and said that the doctor's services were paid, that it was her misunderstanding, that tomorrow she would settle this misunderstanding with the senior manager or pay for them herself, and again we do not need to pay anything. The next day, when leaving the hotel, we were forced to pay 55 Euros for the services of a doctor. Where is the receipt? The question remained unanswered. And Veronica apologized to us. During the whole holiday, we, communicating with other tourists, found out that almost every 2nd had these symptoms, but everyone was treated on their own. No wonder there is a pharmacy near the hotel!
Now about the sea and the beach. We specially chose the sandy beach and the entrance to the sea is also sandy. This is all good, but again a big "BUT"! Flies on the beach do not allow you to sunbathe calmly. After evening shows on the beach, the legs were bitten by presumably sand fleas. Nobody processes the beach and even garbage and cigarette butts are not removed.
Mosquitoes keep you awake at night. It was as if we never left Russia from Siberia. The sea water is cold even for me, although I like to swim in cool water. There were days when the water was very cold, it was uncomfortable to enter. And how uncomfortable it is to get out of the water !!! ! A strong wind blows constantly and it is not always warm. Beach towels from salt were already staked and scratched the skin, but it was problematic to change them, I had to swear.
Dining room! You can't call it any other way. It reminded us of a Soviet canteen, where everyone queues up with food. Here there is no dressing, and the Arabs put everything on one plate.
The airport!! ! Showcase of security. They inspect tourists and luggage 5 times, climb into bags. What for? The tourist will not carry on board the plane ...he flies on it!! !
The most important thing is the room and service. My wonderful vacation began with the fact that the administrator decided to earn extra money, and therefore desperately told me that the hotel was busy, and that there were no rooms with double beds. It was my first time in Egypt, I did not know how to react at all, and therefore, relying on what I read earlier, I thought that I should “thank” the admin so that the number was good. Oh, how he told me that I would have the best number! So, they take us to building C, open the door, and the beds are separate. We understand, swear, wait 10-15 minutes, take us to another room, where there is one double and one single bed. Why - it's not clear, it just takes up extra space. But we were after a sleepless night and a difficult flight, we decided to look around. Number, by the way, visually the same as the first. So, first of all, the bathroom stinks like no one cleans it at all. A bunch of mold, stains, the bathroom itself is old, with smeared holes and painted over with paint. Furniture, one might say, is falling apart before our eyes. And on the beds there is an old bedding with washed out stains and spools and terrible bedspreads, which are probably 30 years old, and which hardly anyone has washed, judging by their appearance.
Therefore, after recovering a little, she went back to the reception to swear. There, fortunately, there was a local manager who, after listening to me, said that he would fix everything. So they gave me a room on the third floor of the main building, overlooking the territory and the sea. Visually, this number looked better. Remarkably, the furniture is exactly the same old, but in better condition, and arranged differently, therefore it was perceived differently. The bedding is newer, although it can also be seen that it is washed out, and also in spools in places. A very old mattress, which is already sagging so much that when you lie down on the edge, you roll down to the middle, or at least lie at an angle. Sleeping is very uncomfortable. The big difference was in the bathroom. Here you can see that the plumbing was changed, compared with the previous issue, not so long ago. But! The walls are dirty, stained and stained, and there is a lot of fungus around the bathroom, which they tried to cover up, but did not succeed. The shower whips water in different directions, sometimes it buzzes, in general it’s like that, but it works, the pressure is normal, and thank God. By the way, the door to the bathroom is also unique - it doesn't close just like that, you have to slam it with all your might. Of the pluses - there are thick curtains for a complete "blackout" effect, however, they are quite dusty. And the air conditioner works fine, although it is so noisy that at first it was impossible to sleep with it on, but after a couple of days I got used to it.
In general, you can live, but honestly, in Ukraine I saw triples with the best numbers, but here it’s like a four. OK.
As for the rest - the beach is normal, but it is not very well cleaned - rubbish and cigarette butts are often found in the sand. And it is also actively used as a tray by dogs and cats. Wooden chairs, old, with peeling paint. The mattresses are ok, only faded in the sun, but this is inevitable. By themselves, not torn, quite good.
Nutrition. Honestly, I am not picky about food, and I was sure that I would always and in any case find something for myself. But here is the task with an asterisk. The food is very monotonous from day to day, almost nothing changes. If you follow your diet and lead a healthy lifestyle, it will be difficult, because there is little fresh, and what is in incomprehensible sauces. Salads are mostly terrible, either because of sour, or I don’t know what’s wrong with them, tomatoes, and dried cucumbers. And in general, they are all weather-beaten. Rice and potatoes are normal, meat is sometimes normal, sometimes not edible. Pancakes are never edible, stewed vegetables are all the same in a watery-tomato sauce, the rest - weathered, and often not tasty, fish - I took it once and regretted it very much, it would be better if I didn’t try it. By the way, I never considered myself a gourmet, I calmly eat cereals, chicken and some kind of greens, for example. But here, it was impossible. So that I can say that it was really tasty - I have never had it. Everything is very average or bad.
But, at the same time, a pretty good confectionery, with it - always fresh fruits - oranges, apples, dates, once there was even a melon and guava. Coffee is good, drink as much as you like. I practically don’t drink alcohol, because I never took anything from alcohol, but from what I heard and saw - in a bar on the beach, beer is poured into small glasses and no more than 2 in one hand. In the bar in the lobby - a separate alcoholic menu for 8 pieces of cocktails, everything else is chargeable, even juice and coffee. Therefore, outside of breakfast / lunch / dinner, you won’t be able to drink something, only on the beach. In the afternoon, by the way, pizza and french fries are prepared on the beach, the wait is often long, but in general they are not bad. There was also supposed to be ice cream on the beach, but I didn’t see it even once in a week.
The rest, on trifles. 2 bottles of 1.5 liters every day in the room, towels and bedding will be changed only on request. Still not so significant, but still a minus - we went on an excursion to Luxor, this is a rise at 4 in the morning. We were asked to prepare lunch boxes, and the administrator himself (! ) offered to wake us up in half an hour by calling the room. No one even tried to recruit us. In general, the general impression is that you can live, but it is better to choose something else. 4* hasn't been there for a long time. It may have once been a good hotel, but now it is sad to watch how it collapses and rusts. For the same money, I think you can choose something better.
1. The hall is spacious, the password for the Internet is given immediately, they settle quickly. They will explain easily and simply, Russian + sometimes one and a half English words - and everyone understood everything : -)
2. The territory is wonderful, palm trees, trees, flowers, beauty is simple.
3. Beach - clean, well maintained, sunbeds, mattresses, umbrellas, the worker asks if everything is OK, the beach bar is open (I recommend their pizza! ). In the morning, exercises are carried out on the beach for those who wish at about 10 o'clock, in the afternoon - at 15.
4. Room stock. There is a main building with a hall, a bar, a restaurant and rooms on the upper floors, and there are several three-story buildings with approximately 5-7 rooms per floor. We were placed in building G, number 204. To say that it is old and dirty is to say nothing. The leatherette upholstery on the beds is torn, the bedding has holes in the corners, there are some wild spots in the closet, the velvet curtains have collected so much dust that it is disgusting to touch them. In the bathroom, the floor has not been washed for a year, there are deposits of garbage outside the door. There is no toilet brush : -( And the smell!! ! Musty, old, just terrible! Association with a nursing home. I had to beg for the kettle declared in the room, take sugar at the bar, buy coffee myself.
The cleaner, apart from rolling swans out of towels, does no cleaning, except that he takes out the garbage and brings bottled water.
5. Bar. A bar is like a bar. They make pleasant cocktails, there is an automatic machine for coffee, drink as much as you want. Some took undiluted strong drinks and carried them to a restaurant for lunch or dinner.
6. Restaurant. Basically, not bad. Not chic and shiny, but their soups are good. Breakfast is always scrambled eggs and pancakes, milk porridge, side dishes, salads. At lunch, 2 soups to choose from, 2 or 3 side dishes, meat (beef, chicken and sausages) and fish. For dinner - some soup, side dish (rice or potatoes) with meat, pasta with sauces to choose from. Lots of desserts, some fruits every day (guava, oranges, tangerines, strawberries). You can ask to be put, as much as you like. Alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails are served in the lobby before lunch and dinner.
Frank cons of the restaurant - no seafood, fish once a day, and it was not enough for everyone, but it was too salty. Salads for dinner sometimes stood already weathered, which suggests that these are leftovers from lunch : -((
Employees are wearing masks, cutlery is individually packed, dirty dishes are collected around the hall with a cart all the time. Juices, tea and coffee - pour yourself in the vending machines. Disposable cups, sugar in sticks, plastic spoons.
Dry rations for the tour, as well as the so-called "late dinner" - there are simply no words. Cucumber, banana, tangerine, half a liter of water, a croissant and a bun with a piece of either soy sausage, or is it such cheese, but you can’t eat it : -(
So the impression is twofold. I would hardly recommend. And I'm not likely to come back.
As for the room, we requested in the building, the room is good, everything is working and even a view of the sea in the distance. Cleaning the room, changing towels, replenishing paper and drinking water (1 large bottle per room) is all without comment.
Nothing has broken all the time, it was not possible to check how quickly they react. The staff is friendly, standard questions: is everything okay, how are you, where are you from, etc. At least on duty phrases are known to many and there were no difficulties in communication. The food is quite decent and certainly did not starve and did not toil with their stomachs. The assortment is not large, but well prepared. Of the sweets, I liked only the local national ones. And a few more times there were delicious soups. In general, everything is fine.
Leisure. Animation is only interested in the form of evening entertainment, and then, depending on what program, we stayed a couple of times. The rest of the days we walked along the promenade (a plus at the hotel - its excellent location), visited a fish restaurant, were on the waterfront and on two excursions. One - the most minimal in time - parasailing, and the second for the whole day - Luxor. A parachute is, of course, "adrenaline", and the historical one was very impressive, it must be seen. In order to save money, we ordered at a tibaturk, at a local agency, the organization is excellent at an affordable price. The bus is very comfortable and there are few people on it due to quarantine measures. The trip is great.
Will we recommend the hotel, more likely yes than no. It fit and met our expectations. Maybe we'll do it again ourselves.
The food was a little disappointing, but not in terms of taste, but in terms of assortment and the lack of a buffet, there's nothing to be done, we were a week after opening, well, we didn't starve). Fruit bought in the city, anyway mango, figs, etc. they themselves always bought and at the best of times). I won’t say anything about the service, the guys are friendly and courteous, no one bothered, on the contrary, everyone tried to pay attention and provide assistance if necessary.
We settled quickly, while we went to buy a SIM card, the room was already ready. We saw off, the room is small, everything is clean, in good order. Water in the room daily, towels changed, everything you need, incl. there was a safe and a kettle. There was no iron, but I didn’t need it, there were about a dozen hangers in the closet. Nice view of the area. The territory itself is small, plus you don’t have to go to the sea for a long time from any corner of the hotel, everything is at hand, cozy and clean.
The beach is a plus of the hotel, good sand, a choice of sun loungers (it is understandable, there are few people at all), so the first line is always closer to the water. The water is wonderful, clean and like fresh milk, you can say no to living creatures, they knew about it, so we planned a yacht trip to Orange Bay in advance, there are corals, fish, we have seen enough of the beauty.
There is free Wi-Fi in the lobby, a couple of lines will do, for something more serious - buy a card.
In general, I liked the hotel, I would like to visit when it will work in the usual mode, with a buffet, animation, etc. , but for 4 it’s quite good. Have a good rest everyone!
