+ Check-in - the girls at the reception are friendly, everyone speaks Russian, English, German. All told showed. Upgraded room category for free! Near the reception there is a shop with souvenirs, cigarettes, beach accessories - but everything is 1.5-2 times more expensive than outside the hotel. We were brought to the room by car, the bags were delivered, everything is super.
+ Room - lived above the restaurant, room 430, air conditioning, TV, kettle, coffee-tea, nice, shampoos. Everything in the room is clean, whole, the design is pleasant, in pastel colors, a lot of natural stone. We had two single beds + two sofas. The room has a balcony. Safe for free. The soundproofing between the rooms is excellent - you can't hear your neighbors. You can hear a little people in the corridor through the front door, but in general it does not interfere.
There are no toothbrushes or toothpaste in the room, you need to bring your own.
+ The territory is huge, green, everything is made of natural stone - marble, sandstone. Very cool.
The territory and design of the hotel is at the level of Sheraton Porto Cervo in Sardinia, only there the price is 10 times more. Descent to the beach - there are steps. There are several pools on the territory, a small water park (4 slides) - open for several hours in the morning and several hours in the afternoon, a river pool. It's nice to walk around in the evening. The whole territory is guarded - both from the side of the street and from the side of the beach, the guards are 24/7, the security is at a high level, there are no strangers.
+ Visitors to the hotel are mostly Russians and Germans. Lots of married couples, lots of pensioners. Everything is cultural, calm, there are no alcoholics. It feels like the hotel is 30-50% occupied, no more than 20-30% of the places are occupied on the beach and near the pools, the presence of people is not felt at all. Lifeguards are constantly near the pools, watching the children, I think leaving children is not scary.
+ Safety and COVID - staff EXCLUSIVELY in masks, at the bar, restaurant and waiters - also in gloves and protective shields.
At the bar by the pool - a snack from 12 to 16 (potatoes, hamburger, salad), sweets by the pool from 16.30 to 17.30.
Ice cream - several types by the pool after 12.00
Also near the beach - a small bar with beer and drinks (water, cola, etc. )
+ Restaurant La Carte - there are two restaurants - sea and Turkish cuisine. Attention (!! ! ) - one visit is free, but the restaurants work for two hotels - Melas Holiday Village and Melas Resort, so book a place as soon as you check in. We postponed the booking until the end and did not have time - everything was booked for several days in advance.
+ Alcohol - alcohol is frankly so-so, cocktails 50/50 depending on which one, mostly they drank beer, wine, gin and tonic or mojito. Alcohol is only local. Also the quality of cocktails depends on the bartender.
+ SPA - the spa center is located in the Melas Resort hotel (two hotels are nearby, and they have a common territory). As I understand it, only the hammam is included in the SPA. We took a hammam + massage for 50USD per person - a little expensive, but we liked it very much.
My neck hurt for a day after the massage.
+ Staff - the staff is friendly, no one was rude, most understand Russian / English, there are no problems in communication. Sometimes, according to the mood, they left a tip (1 dollar or 10 lira).
+ There are shops near the hotel, a very steep embankment, 30-40 minutes walk to the old town of Side, constantly walking in the evening.
+ Animation entertainment - generally liked, animation every day at 21.15. Acrobats, comedy shows, magicians, live music. In general, interesting, but there is nothing like WOW.
In general, we expected the worst, very pleasantly surprised, we will definitely visit the hotel again.
+ Large beautiful territory
+ Spacious room
+ Cleaning
+ The embankment is very beautiful
+ Alacarte fish restaurant
+ Packaged juices, ayran, fresh diluted with water in the morning
+ Once a week fish day
- Terrible entry into the sea (you need to know where to go) big sharp stones!
- The food is monotonous (there is nothing to feed the child, there was not even oatmeal, there is no blender and microwave)
- Evening animation is bad
- Mini club worked only 2 hours in the morning and 2.5 in the evening
- Beach towels are changed for 1 Euro
- Wi-Fi is weak, did not reach the beach
- Algol is the cheapest
- Coffee from the machine is disgusting, you can’t find normal coffee (
- Ice cream not in packs
This hotel consists, as it were, of two, Melas Resort i Melas HV, families with children mainly rest in HV, the buildings are small houses scattered over a fairly large area, but this is not about them (I don’t know anything about them), we we chose Resort for relaxation, in my experience, in the main building, in many hotels the number of rooms is better, and this one was no exception, we got the room on the 1st floor, 1107, the windows overlook the sea, but the first floor, here the concept is relative, the room on level of the 3rd floor, the hotel building is as if built into the rock.
The contingent of vacationers are pensioners from Germany, 10 percent come from the Union republics.
They met us well, placed us right away, the room is a family one, it consists of one room, but it is large, this year the rooms were renovated and the furniture was replaced (my brother was resting with his family). The Germans greet each morning very friendly, they always smile, they never come to dinner in wet shorts, although many people call this hotel a nursing home, I really liked it, it’s quiet and calm, there is only one beach at Resorta i HV, but the restaurants are different.
The beach is good, sandy, if you stand facing the sea, then there is a stone slab on the right, sometimes its corner sticks out, you can hit it painfully, and sometimes the sea sprinkles it with sand. The rest of the beach is good. With strollers it is not very convenient there, because. Stairs lead from the hotel to the beach, not very steep and not very high, but still. . .
There is a promenade in front of the hotel.
We really liked the hotel and maybe someday we will return there.
Were there for a week - three towels were more than enough! The food is very tasty and not spicy! Lots of meat, fish, chicken.
All kinds of pastries, cereals and muesli; hot milk for a child (you can take it away, but do not abuse it). All staff are very polite. The only negative is that there are few Russian speakers! But - knowing quite a bit of German and English, you can easily communicate (even knowledge at the level of the school curriculum !!!! ).
The sea is excellent - the sand is up to the buoys, the entry into the sea is shallow - expanse for both kids and adults! On the territory of the pool 1.4 meters and 0.35 meters deep.
The territory is large and green, there is a water park with 4 slides, a "water path" and a children's pool! Water is everywhere and always free of charge as much as you want (bottles of 0.33 liters each). Safe in the room ($8 per week), individual air conditioning in the room.
My head doesn’t hurt at all, the hotel is excellent, beautiful, lots of greenery, sandy beach, very comfortable awnings or sunshades on the beach.
The sea is clean, warm, the animation is good, moderately annoying. Food for a solid 5, for 10 days we were not tired of anything.
I highly recommend relaxing there, especially with children (there is a water park with 4 slides). I would like to go there again in the fall, it is very beautiful there. sea, mountains, tranquility.
