Hello, dear friends, like-minded people and travelers! I want to share my impressions of my 32nd holiday in Egypt. Stayed in Marsa Alam at Marina View Port Ghalib Hotel 3*, all inclusive. She chose a hotel with a beautiful reef and intelligent guests. For the first time, I vacationed at Marina in 2017, so I knew where I was going, and the 3 "stars" of the hotel did not scare me at all.

Transfer from the airport is about 7 minutes. I arrived at the hotel in the evening. We were greeted very kindly at the reception, offered to have dinner, then checked in. Room on the third floor, remote sea view. The room is pleasant and clean, 2 beds, a sofa, a wardrobe with a mirror, a safe, a refrigerator. The bathroom has a shower behind a curtain, a small hair dryer, no cosmetic products except liquid soap, bring your own. Everything works, but there is a need for repair.
Water is not brought to the room, it can be bought in the nearest supermarkets or poured from a cooler into a bottle at the bar.
Light insulation and sound insulation are normal, you could sleep normally. There is a small balcony above the road with a table, 2 chairs and a dryer. Cleaning is good.
"Marina View Port Ghalib Hotel 3*" is a city-type hotel, that is, it has almost no territory of its own. There is a small courtyard with a small pool and amphitheater. There are almost no plants. The hotel has only 75 rooms. From the reception you go directly to the highway, but this is not a problem, because the traffic is not intense.
At the same time, the location of the hotel is very advantageous. Local pharmacies and supermarkets with normal prices are very close, you have to walk through the residential city area behind the hotel, it is safe. It takes 7 minutes to walk to Port Ghalib itself. Port Ghalib is a very nice tourist area: coast, yachts, palm trees, hotels, restaurants and shops. At night, everything is illuminated, many people. This fully compensates for the lack of own territory.
Food. There is only one main restaurant.
The cost of recreation is not high, accordingly, savings are felt on everything, including food. The selection of dishes is very small, especially fish and meat, but I did not see stale or poorly prepared products. This kitchen will disappoint gourmets, but you won't go hungry. There was even a melon among the fruits. It's not bad for "3 stars", but it wouldn't hurt to increase the range even a little.
There are two bars under the "all inclusive" system: there is a main bar in the hotel building and a bar on the beach. During lunch and dinner you can taste wine, the quality and taste are normal. At other times, they offer normal beer in bottles, strong alcohol in the assortment, or cocktails such as "rum-cola", "mojito" and others. Strong alcohol has such a pronounced unpleasant taste and smell that other components of cocktails do not cover it. Unfortunately, the beer often ran out. The service at "Marina View Port Ghalib Hotel 3*" is normal. The guys are friendly and polite, especially at the reception.
Ms. Agnieszka manages the staff, she often communicates with guests and helps solve their problems.
Animation in the hotel is present, and this, in my opinion, is excellent. The team is local. Stretching, volleyball and yoga are held on the beach. There are also evening shows and entertainment such as karaoke, "Mr. Hotel" and others. Guests actively participate in the entertainment. At the same time, there is no very loud music, for which I am very grateful.
Guests - the hotel is very small, so everyone gets to know each other quickly. If you came alone, there will be company for communication. The hotel is loved by tourists from Europe, mainly from Poland.
Beach. The hotel is located on the third line from the beach (2.4 km), about 35 minutes on foot. A small bus runs to and from the beach several times a day from 9 am every hour. If the guests do not fit, then the bus makes another trip. It is convenient. The beach is sandy, not small for such a large number of guests, but I did not like the conditions.
There are no wind screens, the sunbeds are close to each other, and there are also very few umbrellas. It is difficult to hide from the sun and wind. I was very burnt. A place on the beach allows you to place sunbeds in groups of 2-3 together and make screens and umbrellas from the sun for each group. There is a bar on the beach, but it often runs out of beer. The toilet and shower are located on the beach of the nearby hotel. The neighboring hotel was preparing for opening, employees were constantly washing and cleaning on the beach, it was impossible to enter the toilet without outsiders. I would highly recommend thinking about a more comfortable arrangement of the beach.
Sea. The entrance to the bay is not easy, along the dead cover of the coral, I do not recommend it for children. In general, this was my eighth vacation in Port Ghalib. I knew the flora and fauna of this bay very well. I considered her one of the most interesting in Marsa Alam. I don't know for what reason, the underwater world has significantly impoverished. The number and variety of marine life has decreased.
Earlier in one swim you could meet 1-5 turtles, now it is a rarity, I managed to swim with only one. Fish also became much less. But we were lucky to see 2 barracudas and one moray eel. Very experienced and demanding swimmers will not be interested. Only "newbies" will be delighted. The advantage of the bay is that it is protected from waves, you can swim in any weather.
Let me summarize: if you paid a small amount of money for your vacation, you know exactly where you are going, you are not expecting a huge area, swimming pools, delicious food and drinks, then the hotel will leave a positive impression. If you overpaid or have high expectations, you may be disappointed.
"Marina View Port Ghalib Hotel 3*" will appeal to undemanding tourists for a quiet, relaxing vacation.
Have a good rest everyone, there will be questions, write, I will answer!

My husband and I have been dreaming about Mars for a long time. And now, finally, an offer from Feeriya that is suitable for the price - and we fly by direct charter from Kyiv!
Managed to grab the last direct flight to Marsa Alam! In addition to our 12 days of rest, we received a gift - one more day (free), because. back Extravaganza was no longer lucky and we flew with tourists from Join Up!
I want to immediately express my gratitude to Taran Natalya, whose review was studied in detail and was useful and 1000% truthful
About the hotel in Natalia's review it is written in detail and I would only like to add a little from myself:
1) I would not call the hotel outwardly attractive, rather it is different than beach hotels, in which we are all used to relaxing in Egypt and Turkey. It fits more into the urban category with its beach (great sandy and uncrowded) and free delivery from the hotel to the beach and back by car. This is a hotel to take a break from hiking and trips around the bays in search of stunning marine life and magnificent coral reefs. Hotel-home! Everything in it is home-like, simple, clean, tasty and comfortable. Foreigners have a rest in it with pleasure!
2) It’s impossible not to say about the staff! A small close-knit team of like-minded people who do their job with soul! Thanks to everyone for their responsiveness, attention, smiles and kindness! latte, cappuccino, hot chocolate - WOW! And this is in a 3-star hotel! Free Wi-Fi - pictures just flew away! And this is in a 3-star hotel! linen - and this is in a 3-star hotel!
The conclusion is this: you need to be prepared for a trip to this hotel - not because it is not good - the HOTEL is excellent, but there is no usual hotel infrastructure attached to the hotel, it's as if you came to Spain, took a hotel in Barcelona and combined a beach holiday with an excursion , and in the hotel they rested from overwhelming emotions. Believe that if you wish and having a bit of adventurism, there are plenty of places to explore in the area! And therefore - read reviews and set priorities for yourself. If you need a hotel with a chic territory, pools under palm trees and animation - you are in Port Ghalib hotels, where there is an eternal holiday, beaches filled with people and constant parties. From the hotel to Port Ghalib - 10 minutes under the palm trees along the illuminated road. In the evenings, after dinner, we went for a walk there, went to the territory of five hotels, exploring and looking, or went to a residential area to shops for locals, including an excellent vegetable store with excellent mangoes!
We went for the beauties of the Sea of Mars, which we got. Well, as a bonus - accommodation in a sincere, calm, clean and satisfying (30 people vacationing, almost only foreigners), hotel house!
3) The hotel is strategically located flawlessly! To the beach by car 5-7 minutes, to the Marsa Mubarak bay - 40 minutes on foot through the excitingly alluring desert, past the Ferrouz Hotel, located on the shore close to the bay. We went to the bay 4 times. Unspeakably lucky: in addition huge green turtles we swam with him - Mr. Dugong! This is something!
On the other side of the hotel - you need to go around Port Ghalib on the left - if you look at the sea - and go even further to the left along the sea - a magnificent bay with beautiful coral and magnificent marine life. They say that dolphins also come, we didn’t get caught.
There were days on our beach when we were practically together! Everything is yours and for you (including the bar). Bottled and canned beer, decent, for a couple of days it was somehow super tasty. With no restrictions! Alcoholic drinks, coffee. Sometimes from the apparatus, sometimes soluble with milk. There are no snacks. We never got hungry.
The reef is beautiful, the Coral is endless, and no one whistles and tries to stop you from exploring the underwater world. You swim along the coral and above it in the direction of the Marina Lodge beach and further until you have enough strength and desire towards the pontoon of the Furrows Hotel. On the way, endless huge flocks of large fish (I haven’t seen such schools in Sharm), the bottom is littered with hundreds of largest shells, former houses of giant mollusks, In one swim, we somehow met four turtles in turn (these are not the huge ones that are in Marsa Mubarak Bay, somewhere up to a meter in diameter, but CUTIES! ). In general, the turtle lives constantly opposite the boat lying on the shore, and swam in the waters of our beach.
CONCLUSIONS: DREAMS COME TRUE. We got everything we wanted from Marsa and the hotel fit perfectly into the concept: "inexpensive and cheerful! ". The choice of a hotel with a beach located in the bay was 100% correct, because the winds in Mars are not frail, but the sea has always been available for us! The opportunity to walk around for free and see what vacationers pay money for in other hotels is cool. Feeling young and free again like the wind blowing in the boundless desert is worth a lot!

We got even more than expected - the hotel is small, quiet, the beach is cozy and not crowded, which is nice - with good coffee (coffee machine in the bar) and a bonus... Mostafa turned out to be a bonus, they didn’t understand what his position was called, but for themselves they called it a reef guide . The Red Sea is very rich in fish diversity, but if you snorkel yourself without knowing the features of the reef and the habits of its inhabitants, you will not get the impression that snorkeling with a guide. We are not the first time in Egypt, but Mostafa made us see different inhabitants of the reef in all its glory - sleeping lionfish, parrots eating corals, soaring huge turtles, clown fish sitting in anemones, stingrays, flute fish, you can continue endlessly. Mostafa knows at what time and in what part of the reef, taking into account the tides, the impression from what he sees in the sea will be the strongest and most colorful. . Even if you don’t feel confident on a pigeon, next to Mostafa you can calmly contemplate the fish swimming around you and get to know each “personally” without fear of danger from some poisonous fish, sharp corals, etc. - Mostafa will warn and protect... Recommended hotel and guide for those who want tranquility and colorful sea experiences…

Yes, the inside looks authentic. Didn't try the food.
But the location of the mother-daragaya!
The sea is definitely out of reach. Chapat 20 minutes on foot after lunch, but in the heat. authentic, I tell you. Yes, and cutting down a forest in Siberia with bears also has its own authenticity. There is no territory. Behind the fence is a desert.
Why am I doing all this. No no no.

Hello, dear friends, like-minded people and travelers!
I want to share my impressions about our 16th vacation in Egypt, the 7th in Marsa Alam.
We booked the cheapest ticket using the Fortuna 4 * system from the Feeria Mandriv operator: from 04/09/2016 to 04/16/2017.
Transfer: Flight Kyiv - Marsa Alam 4 hours, very convenient.
I must say right away that they never rested in 3 * in Egypt and, frankly, they were afraid to settle there, despite the positive reviews of the Marina View Port Ghalib Hotel 3 *. Asked to go there because of the reef. I must say right away that the hotel was able to surprise us.
At the reception, Muhamed met us in a friendly manner, asked our wishes, even what kind of bed we prefer, gave a good room on the second floor overlooking the port. In the evening, a gift awaited us: 15 minutes of massage for free.
Room in oriental style, small but cozy, everything works, furniture is in good condition, possibly new. There is a small balcony overlooking the road, on the balcony there is a clothes dryer. The bathroom is also not big, from cosmetics only liquid gel shampoo 2 in 1. There is everything you need for a comfortable stay. We never saw our cleaner, but he cleaned with high quality, changed towels and bed linen in good faith, it was always clean. Thank you!
Externally, the hotel is not attractive and is located on the road. There is no territory and greenery, there is absolutely nowhere to walk. However, going inside, you understand that the hotel has its own character: pronounced oriental architecture and decor, beautiful furniture, quite comfortable, clean, persistent smell of vanilla in the lobby. There is a small pool in the backyard. And you can walk along the promenade in Port Ghalib, it is within walking distance.
Nutrition: this topic deserves a separate story. Before the trip, I read several reviews of the hotel, where tourists admired the food and even used the word "exquisite". For me, reading such enthusiastic things about food in Egypt in a 3 * hotel was strange. Here the hotel surprised us, surprised us very much. When we first came for lunch, we saw a very clean and beautiful restaurant. Tables were laid out like a good restaurant, starched napkins, a few knives, forks and spoons laid out according to restaurant etiquette. Bread and various condiments are on a separate table. There were no guests in the restaurant except my husband and I. As we were told, there are few guests in the hotel, and only a few people have the all-inclusive and half-board meals. Therefore, the usual buffet was neither for breakfast, nor for lunch, nor for dinner. We came to the restaurant, the waiter Syaber (he is also a porter, he is also a bartender) went to the kitchen, took out soup and bread, brought us drinks. Then the waiter watched when we finished eating the soup, went to the kitchen and brought a salad, then brought the main course, then dessert. While we ate, the waiter was in the restaurant and delicately looked when we finished the next dish to bring the next one. In the restaurant, only my husband and I and the waiter. Such an exclusive service. When we tried the dishes prepared in the restaurant of the 3 * hotel, we were very surprised. The dishes were not only delicious, but excellent. I have not eaten such cream soups in any hotel in Egypt, meat and fish dishes are very tasty, salads are unusual. The serving of the food itself is appetizing. The menu changes every day. Portions are huge. Kitchen at a very high level! Many chefs of 5 * hotels can learn from the chef of this hotel. Thanks a lot! The food and service at the restaurant was very good! I really hope that when there are a lot of guests, the kitchen will remain at the same level.
Beach: the hotel has its own beach, located at a distance of 1.2 km from the hotel. You can walk, but in the heat, to be honest, you don’t really want to, but you can take a transfer. 2 times a day, before and after lunch, guests are brought from the hotel to the beach and picked up at a certain time. Since there were 12 guests at that time, and almost no one was interested in the beach, they drove us to the beach in a comfortable car. Often on the beach there were only me and my husband and the bartender Raul at our complete disposal. The beach is not big, but it is no longer needed. There are several plastic sun loungers and folding umbrellas from the sun. Shower and toilet work. There is a bar, tables and chairs. The all-inclusive system on the beach works in a strange way: before going to the beach, you need to take coupons for drinks at the reception. Mukhamed gave them to us, gave coupons for water without any problems, but we had to beg for beer. He only gave 1 beer voucher per person. 1 coupon is 1 glass of almost non-alcoholic Egyptian beer. Do you think 1 bottle of 0.5 liters of almost non-alcoholic beer for two adults is a lot? I had to beg for a second coupon per person, it was not pleasant.
Sea: it was sunny for the first few days, the reef met with its splendor and abundance: we saw, in addition to a large number of various fish and bright corals, turtles, octopuses, squids, lionfish, you can’t list everything. Then the weather began to change and we witnessed a rare natural phenomenon - a downpour in the desert. The rain was very heavy, but not cold, falling several times a day for two days. The locals rejoiced like children. Within a few days the sky became overcast and the coral and its inhabitants were poorly visible, there was not enough light.
Animation in the hotel in its usual sense is not at all. No club dances, sporting events, contests or shows. In the evening, a few guests either sleep, or watch TV in the bar, or walk around Port Ghalib. A hotel for complete tranquility. To be honest, I missed the evening entertainment.
On the third day of our holiday, Mustafa, a hotel worker, approached us (he returned from vacation). His job was to entertain guests. First of all, he went with us to the beach, swam with us all the time, in conditions of poor visibility (I already wrote about cloudy weather), he found in the sea, dived and showed us various living creatures. Thanks to him, we saw a lot more. And tourists who swim poorly saw the beauty of the Red Sea only thanks to Mustafa. He literally dragged unsure swimmers across the sea. I have never seen such service in any hotel! I don't know where else there is a personal coral guide who is a great swimmer and also a professional lifeguard. Those. in this hotel, the lifeguard is not on the shore and sometimes whistles if you swam in the wrong place, but swims with you. The first aid kit on the beach is also kept by Mustafa.
In the evening, Mustafa offered us his services as a guide to Port Ghalib, helped us make purchases in the supermarket, entertained us with a conversation in the hotel bar. Thank him very much!
The general impression of the rest: the hotel certainly has an unforgettable character, the cuisine amazed and surprised in the best sense of the word, the hotel was liked by almost individual service at a very high level. There was not enough evening entertainment, but this is the concept of the hotel. Didn't like the story with coupons for the beach bar. If you want silence and solitude, do not like animation, are indifferent to walking around the hotel, go to the sea for a good reef, I can safely recommend it.
Have a good rest, if you have any questions, write, I will answer!

The hotel is not big, but cozy and quiet. Responsive attentive staff. The administrator reacted instantly to any requests, the bartender was cheerful all the time trying to treat us with something and make us laugh, the waiters always tried to instantly remove the dirty dishes, from the table, everything is clean and tidy, they constantly offered drinks, the cooks cooked deliciously, they were constantly interested in whether we liked everything, animators tried not to let us get bored, the beach manager opened the underwater world of corals and fish for me, helped and supported when the current was more secluded, very beautiful for this, it's worth going !!! !.
