The staff is friendly, pleasant and unobtrusive. At the reception (Natalya Yuryevna, a man and a girl) there are very nice people, and the man who picked me up and took me to the station is also a very nice person.
The room is very cramped, as a single, and they put another bed in there, plus two chairs and a table, and there is absolutely no space. I think double rooms are more spacious. The bathroom is not very good, the plumbing is old, shabby, a lot of fungus. There is no glass for a toothbrush (probably they have this item worthy only of deluxe rooms) and it is clear that we are not talking about a set of cosmetics, only a bar of soap. The nice thing is that the bedding and towels (3 pieces per person) were changed every three days and cleaned, although the cleaning was very superficial. The air conditioner blows directly on the bed and lying on the bed with the air conditioner on is not very good, the windows do not open, only the door that opens onto the courtyard. At first I was very uncomfortable, but then I got used to it. In a word, normal, although dirty. And I also forgot, the TV remote control is just disgusting to hold in your hands, well, very dirty. In short, the girls don't bother with cleaning the room. Well, the soundproofing is bad.
Cafe is a separate issue. For a 3 star hotel, having such a dining room is simply not decent. This is the biggest negative in this story. The staff sleeps on the go, the service is terrible, it seems that these are random people and they have nothing to do with the profession of a waiter. Only dirty cutlery is removed from the tables, and the tables themselves are not wiped. In the morning you come for breakfast, tea is spilled on the table, dried spots are sweet, probably the day before yesterday, crumbs, etc. There is just a layer of gray dirt on the chairs, I rub it with my finger and it rolls off. The food is not very good. For breakfast, only white “loaf” is served bread, only black tea, and I don’t drink white bread or black tea, well, I had to. Milk porridge, there was no water, very sweet, pancakes are also very sweet, plus they are also sprinkled with powdered sugar, I personally didn’t go very sweet on an empty stomach in the morning. Of course, you can choose breakfast, but the food itself, regardless of the dish, was not very good. For lunch, I somehow ordered baked fish with vegetables, they brought it, it didn’t taste good, there was only bitterness, I still didn’t understand how it was possible to spoil a simple dish, and I ate Caesar salad in such a serving for the first time. And in general, after this meal, my stomach was twisting (well, it's all very individual). Well, then I went to have lunch at the hotel near the Mare Nero, it's delicious there, a set lunch (soup or borscht, chop, porridge or potatoes, salad) 48 UAH, if there is tea then 56 UAH. I even ate a lot.
And now the best part is the rooftop pool. He saved me, because I am allergic to the sun and I need to dose the time in the sun, and until you get to the sea, while back, then there is no time for swimming and sunbathing a little. The view is amazing, sea on one side and mountains on the other. The sunbeds, though dirty, but a towel and normal. Pool This is a plus that can slightly smooth out the shortcomings.
The hotel is located in the center, everything is nearby. In the Alupka park, you can wander endlessly. I went to a paid beach (30 UAH per adult and 15 per child). The beach is good. Excursions from 75 UAH.
The impression about the hotel is such that everyone seems to be trying and want the best, but it turns out as always. Although I do not rule out that if I go to Alupka, I will also consider this hotel, now I know all the pros and cons and understand what to expect and how to build my vacation.
On the plus side, there are a lot of cafes, restaurants, shops nearby. Nearby are two beaches (min 10-15 almost crawling), the city is further away. On the roof there is a swimming pool with water temperature - under 30 degrees, two levels - 1 m and 1.75 m. There are also sun loungers and mattresses. There are three dozen books on the table - detective stories and ladies' novels - so as not to be bored. From additional entertainment - table tennis, air hockey, crust. football, a couple of simulators. In the lobby you can buy ice cream, milkshake and espresso coffee, etc. The rooms are spacious (TV, refrigerator, air conditioning, electric kettle, electric heater - always hot water), the staff is friendly and helpful. Two breakfasts are included in the price, you can negotiate for an extra charge about lunches and dinners on order. For 10 UAH, breakfast or a romantic dinner is served from above on the terrace. Although it is 100 m to the same Karamba, Mare Nero is generally across the road, ATB opened nearby. In the hotel building there is an ATM of Privatbank.
All issues are resolved, any slips (we were once forgotten to give duvet covers) are resolved immediately. They go forward - we were not given a hair dryer, but if necessary, if you ask, they gave it. And shampoo too. If asked, they would give both bathrobes and slippers...
Of the minuses - the same cafes nearby do not let the rooms on the north side fall asleep until late with their music. The first floor, due to the difference in height, overlooks the patio (instead of a balcony, it turns out a bay window and also a patio with a clothes dryer) with flower beds, cypresses and other ficuses. Accordingly, the room is damp - this is an amateur (numbers 105-106). If you are not satisfied with the quality of cleaning - we hang acc. the plate on the door - will be removed on the trail. day (they clean and change the bed every three days).
Breakfast - standard - pancakes, dumplings, dumplings, omelettes, milk porridge, casseroles, etc. + instant coffee and tea (espresso 12 UAH) and a saucer with sausage-cheese-butter is simpler. There are no salads or fruits in breakfast. Waiters sometimes sleep, you should not be shy - to remind you of yourself.
And as it turned out, not in vain. Perhaps I'll start from the beginning.
We called the administrator by phone and agreed on a double standard room, and since breakfast in the room only from April 29, we were offered a microwave oven (at the same time, without taking an additional fee for it, which was very surprising and delighted. Further, upon arrival by train to Simferopol the hotel administration advised us over the phone how best to get to them (bus number, where to transfer, where to go, etc. ). For those who do not want to reach for the buses, the hotel offers a transfer.
Upon arrival, we were settled in room 209 (east side, a beautiful view of the sea from the balcony), we paid off and began to settle down, as another pleasant surprise from the administration awaited us - a bottle of champagne. Then they learned from us our plans for the rest, and when we found out that we wanted to see the local beauties, they immediately offered to help with a tour agency. The excursions are simply magnificent (waterfalls, castles, mountains, a bit of history along the way, and the guide tells such an exciting story that you even listen to the biographies of Russian writers with admiration. The price of the excursion was 75 UAH per person - it's worth it.
Another thing I want to note is the responsiveness of the staff, you know, we had the feeling that we did not come to the hotel, but to relatives whom we had not seen for a long time. Every morning, leaving the room, we were asked our plans, and when we didn’t know what to do, they immediately offered a lot of places where it’s worth visiting (not an excursion, but “on our own”), for example, they suggested taking a ride to the Nikitinsky Botanical Garden, immediately explaining to what buses to get there.
I forgot to write about the location of the hotel. To the main gates of the Vorontsov Palace and the park - three minutes at a normal pace, five minutes if you are not in a hurry.
If the administration reads this review, I would like to say again - THANK YOU SO MUCH!
Vitaly and Irina.
Personally from myself: wonderful oriental pastries (baklava, five types), five minutes from the hotel on the territory of Vorontsovsky Park. I recommend baklava and the hotel to everyone: ))))))
