1. Territory - compact and cozy, a lot of greenery, the territory of the hotel is well organized, everything is close. Clean enough, but on the sites of residential villas, as in all tropical countries, there is garbage for several days (empty bottles, napkins) - no one is in a hurry to clean up.
The hotel has a shopping gallery, the prices are almost the same as the prices outside the hotel, the amount of the purchase is written to your number, you pay it when you leave.
2. the beach is gorgeous, the blue flag of 2015, clean white sand, the sea is wonderful - the color is extraordinary, the bottom is visible at all depths. the bathing area is separated from the sea by something like stone breakwaters, laid out in a semicircle at the bottom - fish and all kinds of marine life live there, so you can swim with a mask. there are almost no waves, only when boats pass by.
There are a lot of sun loungers, although some are quite squeezed, but there are not enough umbrellas, by 8 am all the umbrellas are occupied and you have to maneuver all day in the shade of palm trees.
bathe in the sea even in the evening after sunset.
3. the standard room is spacious, the balcony is large with a clothes dryer and two armchairs (wooden and uncomfortable), very large, comfortable beds, bed linen is clean enough.
The TV is big and flat, but there are no Russian channels, mostly in Spanish, there are a couple of channels in English and German.
There is no door in the bathroom, but this is not annoying, because. There is a door to the toilet. The shower cubicle has a strange shape, it is inconvenient to wash and the floor is always wet, the towels are washed out, but without holes and stains. Soap, conditioner, shower gel are replenished in the bathroom.
There is no Wi-Fi in the rooms, only on the territory - you can catch it on the balcony, on the stairs near the villas.
The floors in the room are not washed every day, towels and linen are changed about once a week, but you can throw towels on the floor, then they will change it, and you can put a special sign on the bed to change the linen.
They clean the room very conditionally - they take out the garbage, put the water in, make the beds - that's all the cleaning, tips do not help (for tips they made figurines from towels and decorated the bed with flowers), but in general the room is clean.
We noticed that they do general wet cleaning only after the departure of the guests before the arrival of the next ones.
The biggest disadvantage is that during the day (approximately from 11.00 to 17.00) there is no hot water in the room. You will come from the beach, and you can wash only with cold water.
the furniture can be seen that it is not new, but everything was freshly painted, so in general it looks normal.
in general, the room is comfortable and spacious, there is air conditioning and a ceiling fan, a minibar.
4. the food is good, there is plenty to choose from, the buffet is constantly replenished, so it doesn’t happen that someone didn’t have enough of a dish, because. those who came earlier ate it.
For children there is a separate handout.
There is always meat (chicken, pork, beef), fish, ice cream, vegetables, various sauces, blue cheese, fruits (papaya, watermelon, melon, mango, pineapple, passion fruit), salad cuts, pastries, cakes, pasta and spaghetti with various additives, sometimes there was jamon, parmesan cheese, lightly smoked red fish. They don’t have much with seafood - squid rings were often and tasty, but the shrimp were only once and either undercooked or overcooked - tough and tasteless, their mussels are mostly river-mud and they don’t know how to cook them because in Asia .
Beer is normal, wine - not very, apparently diluted.
The bars make different cocktails, all based on rum. cocktail recipe is observed conditionally, but you can drink.
we went to the a la carte restaurant once - a small selection and nothing much different from the buffet in the main restaurant.
5. entertainment - animation is mainly in Spanish, there are animators who speak German, French, Italian. There are no Russian-speaking animators, and almost no one speaks English, so it is difficult to understand and participate in evening entertainment. Every day of the week in the evening some kind of event / competition - karaoke, Mr. and Mrs. hotel, hotel couple, etc. On the beach and by the pool they teach dancing, they do aqua aerobics, there was once a foam party in the pool.
6. the staff is good, everyone is trying, smiling, they are serving quickly enough. But they hardly speak English.
Not far from the hotel - within walking distance, next to the hotel complex Viva there is a small village with shops and shops - there you can buy souvenirs, coffee, cocoa, rum (prices are 2-3 times lower than for similar goods in Duty Free).
We flew with the Biblio-globe, but the host in La Romana is some kind of Travel Servis, hotel guides (Bogdan and Dmitry) are optional and stupid, they were an hour late for the introductory meeting !! . they can’t really say anything about excursions, we ourselves had to pull out all the information. They frightened us with the slowness and optionality of the Dominicans, but in fact, the Dominicans are just great guys compared to them.
We took excursions from a tour operator (to Saona with Altos de Chavon and to Santo Domingo) - excursions are very simple. It is beautiful in Altos de Chavon, but there is little time and they bring it too early - they would sit there in a cafe, meditate. the island of Saona is no different from the beach near the hotel, even worse. In Santo Domingo, it’s normal, but a completely moronic trip to a 10-minute cartoon about F. Drake in a 4d cinema and they gave little time to walk around the old city, the guide stuffed historical facts, and spent almost 2 hours in the gift shop.
It is good in the Dominican Republic and the climate is much more comfortable than in Asia - not so hot and not so humid, but in Asia it is much more interesting.
Would go to this hotel again and recommend to friends.
