I'll start in order. Our operator was Pegas. This is the second time this year we have used the services of this operator, there are no complaints. We flew to Mallorca airport, compared to other Mediterranean airports we have visited, this is the largest, cleanest and most comfortable. At the airport we were met by a representative of the operator and handed over to the driver. To our surprise, a huge bus with 50 seats arrived for the four of us. From the airport, and accordingly from Palma, it takes about an hour to go to the north of the island.
The hotel is located east of the city of Alcudia at the very end of the town of Playa de Muro. I’ll note right away that if you are going to Mallorca to have fun, you are not here. This hotel is designed for families with children.
There are more children in the hotel than adults. The main contingent of vacationers (90 percent) are Germans, the rest are Poles, Scandinavians, Russians, French and a couple of Ukrainians with two children
The hotel itself consists of ten three-story buildings. Each building has an atrium in the center with a glass roof and green spaces in the center (see photo). The hotel area is very green and beautiful. The hotel has three swimming pools. The smallest is a paddling pool, medium-sized is an adult and the largest is for children, with gentle entrances, in which all the children frolicked. There were always enough beds. A wooden platform leads from the hotel to the beach. The beach is not wide, but there was enough space for everyone, who did not want to pay for sunbeds, lay on towels. The sea is clean, in some places along the beach there were algae, but rarely and only when there were strong waves. Every evening, a special tractor sifts the sand on the beach from debris.
There is also a building with a restaurant, a building with a bar and a stage for evening programs and a bar near the pools. Animators during the day spend all sorts of entertainment, but mostly Germans take part in them. The animation team is international because they communicate with each other in English.
We lived in the 9th building, it is probably the quietest, because it is closed from everything by other buildings. Our room was on the first floor. The room is large, consists of two rooms and a kitchen, a balcony and a large bathroom. There is a TV, although we never used it. The kitchen has a refrigerator, stove, microwave, all the necessary utensils. In other reviews I read about good audibility through the walls. Either our neighbors are calm or I have bad hearing, but somehow I didn’t feel this problem very much. The room was cleaned every day, even on Sunday. All used towels were also changed every day. The bed was also changed once a week.
About food.
We took the tour without meals, only a room, because according to previous experience, the older child does not want to eat anything in the restaurant, and the younger child still cannot eat such food. We prepared meals in the room and sometimes in the evening after feeding the children we went to a restaurant outside the hotel. Moreover, we did not want to become attached to the hotel, because we traveled a lot around the island.
For those who need groceries, there is a grocery store across from the hotel and two larger stores to the left of the hotel. But these shops are expensive. In Playa de Muro there is a large Eroski, and in Can Picafort there is a Mercadonna. These stores have a large selection and prices are much lower. In addition to the car, you can also get to any of these stores by bus number 2 (one way or the other), the fare is 1.25 euros.
We rented a car. Opposite the hotel there are rentals and a little to the left of it too, but they are expensive. In the city of Playa de Muro there are a lot of rentals and they have more choice. The average price of small A class cars is 25-40 euros per day.
When applying, specify which insurance deductible. In the place where we took the car, the deductible was 400 euros, for a small surcharge they made me a zero deductible. Parking in front of the hotel is problematic, but 100 meters from the hotel there is a large parking lot, there are always places.
If you are going to Mallorca, then I do not advise you to spend all the time in the hotel, be sure to go see the island and it is best by car, it will be cheaper than with excursions and more interesting and comfortable if you are with children.
We went to the Safari Park, where you ride in a car among animals and monkeys run on the roof of the car. Entrance or rather entry is 17 euros per adult, father-in-law cost us 34 euros per car. A cool place, especially since we made the route in such a way that on the way there and back we visited many more interesting places in the northeastern part of the island.
We also went to the aquarium, which is near Palma.
A good aquarium differs from other European ones by the thematic division into different parts - the Mediterranean, the Jungle and the Ocean. Entrance from an adult is 20.5 euros and from children over 4 years old - 17 euros. As elsewhere in Spain, they take a picture of you at the entrance, and then they sell photos for 10 euros. The palm tree is beyond praise, it is worth taking a longer walk. These two places will take you all day.
We went to Cape Formentor, to the very end to the lighthouse, where buses do not go. Very beautiful. And on the way back we walked in the city of Alcudia, you really feel the medieval atmosphere there, especially on Sunday, when there are very few people. By the way, this city can also be reached from the hotel by bus. Although buses can take you almost anywhere on the island, their network is very extensive.
There is also a sea of places that we wanted to go to, but due to time constraints, it didn’t work out.
Upon departure, we were overshadowed by the departure.
Firstly, the flight was postponed, and secondly, they were kept on the plane for more than two hours. According to the schedule, we were supposed to take off at 19:10, and took off at almost 24. The joke also consisted in the fact that when the plane had already started moving, then after a while it stopped and the pilot said that for technical reasons the flight was being postponed, we saw through the window that they brought some more luggage and began to load it onto the plane. Looks like something went wrong at the airport. In short, we arrived in Kyiv at 4 am. Well, these are all the little things in life that we could not spoil the impressions of the rest.
Outcome. Do I advise you to go to Mallorca - I highly recommend it. Do I advise you to go to this hotel - I advise you, provided that you eat with children or want a relaxing holiday. If you want to live in the company of drunken British and Germans and the consequences of their stormy rest, then you are to the south.
