For this money, they served half a small lobster without claws, pouring in inedible sauce, 3 shrimp and a few pieces of squid, although when paying they promised the weight of lobster and shrimp in 1 kg, while the shrimp were not served in the dish and the manager had to point it out, after which they were brought separately. But every 5 minutes the waiters ask with a smile: "Gut? ", Dessert did not wait.

They took away the inflatable cheesecake when they wanted to go down the hill on it in the water park of the neighboring hotel and were not allowed to move out even to return it to where they took it
- the staff comes into the rooms even with a sign "Do not disturb" and steals (or hides to steal later). It was discovered right before departure, when, after returning from breakfast (the "Do Not Disturb" sign was hanging), they did not find a chocolate bar lying under the mirror, although they were going to leave it along with other sweets anyway
- The package includes a sightseeing tour to Hurghada. The guide takes you to shops with a horse price tag, you almost didn’t manage to walk around the city, and there’s nothing to do there.

While sailing along the Nile, they overtook the swollen carcass of a donkey. You can go only if you have not seen how bananas grow. We went because we asked the guide to show where to buy fruit. The guide said that he would give packages and we could pick fruit there for free. In fact, it turned out that we can collect leftovers from the tables from the treats (cut fruit) and bananas. Sliced fruit was not eaten due to unsanitary conditions. As a result, it turned out that they paid $20 for half a kilo of bananas.

Grand Makadi 5 * - This hotel and the whole four will suit those who come for the underwater world. It is here at the end of the beach that there is a pier from which you immediately get to a good coral reef. New overall hotel for a relaxing holiday.
Makadi Palace 5* +18 - A little higher level than Grand Makadi, but in general, this is also a hotel only for a relaxing holiday and it does not have any special infrastructural advantages. The hotel has no animation at all, the concept of complete relaxation. The hotel does not accept children!
Hotels go one by one along the beaches. The total length of the beaches of four hotels is 1.5-2 km, and a promenade runs along the entire beach.
Grand Makadi 5* and Makadi Palace 5* have a shared beach. At the end of Grand Makadi Beach there is a pier with access to the reef. The beaches are not separated in any way except conditionally by one of the passages into the sea where dead corals also begin. The beach is very big. Long and wide. But there is no sandy water entry from the shore. A stone embankment and several narrow passages. There are also dead corals right off the shore. And shallow water. Both beaches are heavily trodden. It's not sand, but trodden earth. But there are a lot of equipment on the beach and few people, so in general you can relax very secluded. If you come with small children, then there is quite a bit of sand in the passages into the sea. And there, in the shallows, children can splash. But still, this is not a beach for swimming near the shore. And swimming shoes are a must!
Makadi Spa 5 - hotel beach. In fact, the beach and entry into the sea are exactly the same as in the Grand Makadi 5 * and Makadi Palace 5 hotels, otherwise the only difference is that there are free boars along with sunbeds. On the beach, umbrellas with sunbeds and wild boars are at a distance from each other than in neighboring hotels where they are much denser to each other. And this decent distance makes this beach more secluded. You can also use the beach and beach bar of the Grand Waterworld hotel and the beaches of two other neighboring hotels.
Grand Waterworld Makadi Hotel 5 * - this hotel has the best beach among the hotels of the entire complex. The sunset is gentle, sandy, but there are pebbles, although they do not interfere with swimming and corals are not needed. You need to walk to the depths, but the children are great here. There are also corals, but for a good reef it is better to go to the pier which is located in the Grand Makadi hotel. There is a lot of sand on the beach, unlike the beaches of the other three hotels in this complex.
I also want to give a couple of useful tips.
First. If you want to go on excursions, then purchase them from local travel companies. Buying from them is just as safe as buying from hotel guides, but it will cost significantly less.
The second tip concerns Egyptian cold-pressed oils. There are many different companies that produce oils, but often in pharmacies or shops they can slip something mediocre or even dilute the oils, so it’s better to buy them in stores that work directly from manufacturers’ factories, and here in the eliteargan store you can easily find oils on Instagram by the name, they’re just excellent and at very good prices. I recommend contacting them. There is delivery in Hurghada directly to the hotel, and also sent to the CIS.

We stayed at this hotel from 03.05 to 10.05. 17. Externally, the hotel is simply chic - Spanish-Moorish style, lots of vegetation. When checking in, we gave money, and at the reception they told us that they give a very good room on the 3rd floor - 2301 (it is at the junction with the Makady Palace hotel). We traveled from the tour operator Join up, a hotel guide from the host company Sun International Ali Hanafi. He did not give information about the hotel (I had to ask for it at the reception, see the attached photo) and did not help us activate the Vodafone Internet card purchased at the Hurghada airport for $ 5. The fact is that the card received an SMS in Arabic, which Ali Hanafi did not translate, saying that he had a different mobile operator. But it is over 40 minutes. “sniffed” excursions.

Everything is very sad. Firstly, it is very dark - part of the balcony is under the canopy, and the room is dark even during the day.
Something was breaking in the room all the time. On the first day it was impossible to open the door from the bathroom. My wife unscrewed the outer handle with a screwdriver, prying off the latch and let me out. Then, it was on, then there was no light in the corridor and in the toilet (it is separated from the bathroom by a separate door and the switch is inside the toilet), then the light in the room went out. Water was leaking from the flush hose. In the morning there was often no cold water. And this is a "good number", as we were told at the reception.
There are 4 Russian-language TV channels: TNT, "1" and Kyiv 1 + 1 and 2 + 2 (they did not work for 4 days).
There are very uncomfortable slopes to the hotel pool - they are where there are no sunbeds. We swam in the pool of the neighboring Makady Palace hotel, where there are no such problems.
The hotel is about 90% middle-aged and older Germans. The rest are Slovaks, Poles and Russian speakers. Wi-Fi is available only at the reception. It is passwordless and very slow.
There is also a water park at the Sunwind waterworld hotel (it's about 1 km from The Grand Makady hotel) (open 10-00 ...12-00).
There are two of them: for children (at least somehow it’s a bit interesting to ride downhill) and an adult - it sucks.
Beach.
Very bad. There are many passages from the beach of The Grand Makady hotel to the depths. But even at high tide, to swim, you have to go through a very uneven coral for about 120 steps. At low tide, more. There is no Pantone. You can swim from the pier, but it is quite long - 250 steps. In addition, there is always a strong wind.
Coral is so-so - this is not Sharks Bay or Chabad in Sharm. Yes, there are fish, but we didn’t see a single one more than 60 cm in length in a week. Sad. I was very "tired" of a huge number of lilac jellyfish, swimming among which is sheer torment. Yes, there are plenty of them on the beach. We have never experienced this before in Egypt.
We went to the beach of the Sunwind waterworld hotel where you can enter the sea from the shore. The problem is that after 9-00 there are no places there. I had to tip the beach boy so that he brought us whole sunbeds from afar. The sunbeds are old and some of them are broken or with protruding nails.
But on the beach at the Sunwind waterworld hotel, at least the windscreens are new, and you can dry things on them. And on The Grand Makady beach, the windbreaks are scary and rusty, and the sunbeds are even worse.
At Sunwind waterworld beach, the corals are fenced off. At low tide to a place where you can swim - 50 steps, at high tide - 5-20 steps. The most interesting thing is to swim over areas of fenced off corals. Yes, the water is warmer. Aquashoes are a must.
For the first time, we encountered the fact that at high / low tide the water is just cold - near the shore it is 27 degrees, and when leaving the coral to a depth - 18 ...20 degrees. In fact, we did not encounter strips of water of different temperatures (there were up to 5 of them) in Egypt before.
Nutrition.
Very bad. At Sunrise Diamond Select 5* (Oct. 2015) and at Siva Sharm 5* (Oct. 2016), the food was not just much, but incomparably better.
Even chopped tomatoes at The Grand Makady weren't available every day. The fish is pangasius from the mouth of the Mekong, that is, the cheapest and most harmful of all.
At lunch they give the so-called barbecue.
These are overcooked and absolutely inedible vegetables + chicken burned to the state of coal. It cannot be eaten. The meat is only undercooked, which simply cannot be chewed - the sole. Ate burgers - it's fast food, it's bad, but there's nothing else for lunch.
Fruits are a separate topic: bananas, sliced oranges and grapefruits, sliced melon, guava, dates, apples ...and that's it. Sweet - almost inedible biscuits and cakes. But there is a plus - we did not get poisoned (because we thought what we could eat and what not).
Bars at The Grand Makady open at 10:00 a. m. and at Sunwind waterworld from 9:00 a. m. At the same price per tour, Sunwind waterworld looks much better, especially considering that it is almost new. True, in Sunwind waterworld they steal, or rather replace dollars in a safe (complained about this on the beach). Consider this.
Alcohol.
Wine is served only in restaurants (in glass glasses) and in the Pergola Fish bar (in plastic). Rose wine is nothing.

Very bad.
We had a late flight (23-10) and we decided to extend the room. Usually it costs 40-60 dollars per room. But not in this hotel. We were “charged” at the reception for an extension from 12-00 to 16-00 (with lunch) 27 euros per person, and from 12-00 to 20-00 (lunch + dinner) 47 euros per person. That is, we were forced to pay 103 dollars in order not to sit at the reception for 8 hours. And this is at a cost of 7 days. tour from Kyiv $ 911. Such an extension of the number is just a robbery.
Do not take tours to this hotel with a late departure - it will become very expensive for you.
The hotel outwardly, in appearance, seems to be like 5 *, but in fact 3 ...3 + *. Think before you go to it. There will be questions - write the answer.

There are 4 Russian-language TV channels: TNT, "1" and Kyiv 1 + 1 and 2 + 2 (they did not work for 4 days).
There are very uncomfortable slopes to the hotel pool - they are where there are no sunbeds. We swam in the pool of the neighboring Makady Palace hotel, where there are no such problems.
The hotel is about 90% middle-aged and older Germans. The rest are Slovaks, Poles and Russian speakers. Wi-Fi is available only at the reception. It is passwordless and very slow.
There is also a water park at the Sunwind waterworld hotel (it's about 1 km from The Grand Makady hotel) (open 10-00 ...12-00).
There are two of them: for children (at least somehow it’s a bit interesting to ride downhill) and an adult - it sucks.
Beach.
Very bad. There are many passages from the beach of The Grand Makady hotel to the depths. But even at high tide, to swim, you have to go through a very uneven coral for about 120 steps. At low tide, more. There is no Pantone. You can swim from the pier, but it is quite long - 250 steps. In addition, there is always a strong wind.
Coral is so-so - this is not Sharks Bay or Chabad in Sharm. Yes, there are fish, but we didn’t see a single one more than 60 cm in length in a week. Sad. I was very "tired" of a huge number of lilac jellyfish, swimming among which is sheer torment. Yes, there are plenty of them on the beach. We have never experienced this before in Egypt.
We went to the beach of the Sunwind waterworld hotel where you can enter the sea from the shore. The problem is that after 9-00 there are no places there. I had to tip the beach boy so that he brought us whole sunbeds from afar. The sunbeds are old and some of them are broken or with protruding nails.
But on the beach at the Sunwind waterworld hotel, at least the windscreens are new, and you can dry things on them. And on The Grand Makady beach, the windbreaks are scary and rusty, and the sunbeds are even worse.
At Sunwind waterworld beach, the corals are fenced off. At low tide to a place where you can swim - 50 steps, at high tide - 5-20 steps. The most interesting thing is to swim over areas of fenced off corals. Yes, the water is warmer. Aquashoes are a must.
For the first time, we encountered the fact that at high / low tide the water is just cold - near the shore it is 27 degrees, and when leaving the coral to a depth - 18 ...20 degrees. In fact, we did not encounter strips of water of different temperatures (there were up to 5 of them) in Egypt before.
Nutrition.
Very bad. At Sunrise Diamond Select 5* (Oct. 2015) and at Siva Sharm 5* (Oct. 2016), the food was not just much, but incomparably better.
Even chopped tomatoes at The Grand Makady weren't available every day. The fish is pangasius from the mouth of the Mekong, that is, the cheapest and most harmful of all.
At lunch they give the so-called barbecue.
These are overcooked and absolutely inedible vegetables + chicken burned to the state of coal. It cannot be eaten. The meat is only undercooked, which simply cannot be chewed - the sole. Ate burgers - it's fast food, it's bad, but there's nothing else for lunch.
Fruits are a separate topic: bananas, sliced oranges and grapefruits, sliced melon, guava, dates, apples ...and that's it. Sweet - almost inedible biscuits and cakes. But there is a plus - we did not get poisoned (because we thought what we could eat and what not).
Bars at The Grand Makady open at 10:00 a. m. and at Sunwind waterworld from 9:00 a. m. At the same price per tour, Sunwind waterworld looks much better, especially considering that it is almost new. True, in Sunwind waterworld they steal, or rather replace dollars in a safe (complained about this on the beach). Consider this.
Alcohol.
Wine is served only in restaurants (in glass glasses) and in the Pergola Fish bar (in plastic). Rose wine is nothing.

Very bad.
We had a late flight (23-10) and we decided to extend the room. Usually it costs 40-60 dollars per room. But not in this hotel. We were “charged” at the reception for an extension from 12-00 to 16-00 (with lunch) 27 euros per person, and from 12-00 to 20-00 (lunch + dinner) 47 euros per person. That is, we were forced to pay 103 dollars in order not to sit at the reception for 8 hours. And this is at a cost of 7 days. tour from Kyiv $ 911. Such an extension of the number is just a robbery.
Do not take tours to this hotel with a late departure - it will become very expensive for you.
The hotel outwardly, in appearance, seems to be like 5 *, but in fact 3 ...3 + *. Think before you go to it. There will be questions - write the answer.

The hotel is located 20 km from Hurghada, we did not go to Hurghada itself. But we went on excursions to Paradise Island and on a motorcycle safari. We ordered excursions in Hurghada, ordered through the site, immediately paid for everything. On the tour we were accompanied by a Russian-speaking girl, she told and explained everything to us in detail. It was very exciting to ride in the desert and visit the open sea on the island. Now about the service: very beautiful serving: candles, tablecloths, all that, however: the waiters are VERY spoiled by the Germans, who poke tips in the right place and out of place (I watched a picture of a German woman tipping a toilet boy in the toilet : ). Therefore, just to bring wine for these waiters is a big problem, we had to wait for 15-20 minutes. In general, if you like swimming pools, this hotel is for you.

Then the holidays began and our compatriots arrived and it became just a shame for our loved ones, the Arabs stopped noticing us at all, you sit in a restaurant all in dirty dishes and they lick the Germans, we left a tip regardless of their service, only when there are few Russians we get lost and to we are treated like Europeans, you ask for tea to bring, you sit for 15-20 minutes, you wait 3 times, you remind him to slam you with this cup of iced tea, you come out as if spat on. I never thought that I could be hurt by this before, it's just that the contrast was HUGE in the way they behaved in the beginning. Another Awesome case that the Russians heat up on us as they want. They have a Caribbean restaurant on site and waiter boys walk around the pool and invite you to visit. I had a birthday and we decided to spend it there. We came to tell us congratulations on the DR, here’s a bottle of champagne from the establishment, we asked for free, yes they say a gift, and at the end of the evening they brought the bill for the bottle, and when we left it turned out that we had to pay for food, although we chose from the free page I even I didn’t see the bill, they put it down under a piece of paper with champagne, there is no my signature, only an imprint. I went to the hotel guide (TEZ TOUR), he joked with them and says you have to pay, in general, I left in discord. The hotel is very good but don't go there anymore.
