Friends, always read the reviews and be very careful about the negative ones! I suspect that positive reviews are written by hotel staff, their relatives or fantastic optimists. But I am unfortunately a realist. Let's start with the fact that the hotel does not even have a sign! There is no reception area, instead a small room of about 15 meters, with a shabby sofa, an intermittent fan and a table littered with papers, on which boxes were hoisted, and a laptop was placed on them.

The hotel itself was divided into two parts Mythos and Sofia, it was built a very, very long time ago, the Michalis family lives on the ground floor - as I understand it, the owner of the hotel. Michalis's grandmother, Sophia, keeps track of who eats how much and puts it on her plate. She can snatch food, yell at the child, grabbed my friend by the elbow and shouted in her ear: “It is not free !!! ” - for a glass of water. I must say that the water in this hotel is always paid (as we later found out), although there is water on the canteen jay, but you can’t take it in free mode. Why did they put it on then? ) The food at the hotel is terrible, I don’t know what gourmets praise it in the reviews: powdered milk is highly diluted, juice is tinted water, lethargic and fresh cucumbers, tomatoes are mixed, apparently in order to save money, the products should not disappear & # 61514; For breakfast, you can eat yogurt and cottage cheese, but on the tenth day, even they no longer climbed... For dinner, you could eat pasta, rice, beans. Fruit is always unripe. In Greek taverns, watermelons and melons are served to guests after dinner as a compliment, the hotel has a tavern, all ripe fruits apparently went there. Yes, the dining room itself is located along the pool with highly chlorinated water. After swimming in which, for some reason, the children came out stained with blue paint. Now about placement. The hotel is not on the first line! You will have to climb the mountain, periodically sliding down it, overcome about 200 steps mixed with transitions and climbs... And if you imagine that you are with a suitcase, children and bags, then you will reach the room in a half-dead state and immediately crawl into the bathroom. There is a tray and a shower with a holder at chest level, a dirty curtain will constantly stick to your heifer, since the tray itself is very small and despite all your efforts you can’t save the floor from water, it will get wet and become slippery and slimy. The furniture in the room is very old, obviously older than the hotel itself. There are empty holes in the walls, apparently the sockets have fallen out. Bed linen with stains, darn. . . Cleaned in the rooms normally. There is no question of any shampoos, conditioners, you are given a small soap for the entire period of rest. Thank you for bringing toilet paper. For most guests, air conditioning is paid - 45 euros, for all paid safe and TV. The only thing I really liked was the view from the room to the bay, it is beautiful surrounded by mountains. Yes, the hotel does not have its own territory, the playground is in disrepair, I did not see the declared table tennis. The bay itself is very picturesque, the sea is clean and warm, gentle and sandy sunset. Please note that there is a pier with a yacht club in the bay! Near the hotel there are wonderful taverns, shops and shops, where you will be met by hospitable hosts, treated to homemade wine and cheese. You can rent a good car from the hotel, book excursions with Valery, who will guide you to all the sights of the island. It should be noted that the Greeks are very hospitable, kind and smiling, it is always a pleasure to communicate with them. I love Greece with all my heart! I wish you all a good holiday!

With an early departure for excursions in the restaurant on the eve, you can order a "breakfast to go", with a late arrival, you will definitely have dinner in the tavern. If we manage to come to Crete again, without hesitation, we will go to Sofia Mythos Beach. The hotel is good. In September, the weather is excellent, it is comfortable to swim and sunbathe.

The first time we went to about. Crete. My kids and husband are in shock. At first we were kept at passport control in the heat for more than an hour, maybe more. The crush was crazy, the Greeks were in no hurry to let them into their territory (the airport of Heraklion). The mood immediately disappeared. The truth is a little up on the way to the hotel.

The crush was crazy, the Greeks were in no hurry to let them into their territory (the airport of Heraklion). The mood immediately disappeared. The truth is a little up on the way to the hotel. Spectacular views, nature is super! We drove for about 40 minutes. Upon arrival, we were met by Svetlana and the owner Michalos. Everything seemed to be normal, they put us in a cafe at a table and told us to wait. We made an order - it was lunch time (for our money), ate, paid and everyone was waiting for them to come for us. The wait took 1.5 hours. We almost fell asleep at the table. I asked to give us a room in the Mithos building, but they settled us in Sofia (it was necessary to give it on hand, I didn’t guess) in the apartments. Loudly said - apartments! On the 2nd floor room. No. 5.
Description: immediately from the threshold into the 1st room-kitchen-hallway, behind the door on the left is a single bed, opposite the bed is the entrance to the bathroom-toilet, next to the door is a kitchen cabinet with a washbasin, immediately a refrigerator, which was pulled out from the niche of the left corner, was brought in its place extra bed (payment was for 3 adults and 1 child-11 years old). The room is gloomy, without a window, stuffy. Next we go to the bedroom. This one is a little more spacious: a double bed, 2 bedside tables, a dressing table from the time of my grandmother, an older wardrobe, without shelves, with hangers; table and a shelf on the wall for hats. Oh, and the air conditioner that blew directly on the bed and grabbed my back. There is also a balcony with a plastic table and 3 armchairs. But the most interesting thing is that the light is constantly turned off 100 times a day. This is about Sofia. Mithos speak much better. I'm wondering why the price is the same? We paid 2450 euros. I think a lot. No TV - no power
Enough about sad things. The nature is super, the sea is transparent.
Everyone is very friendly and pleasant. We had lunch at the Mithos tavern. For 4 people -30-35 euros. Delicious.
Have a good rest, but not in this hotel.

Rested with friends in this hotel from 8 to 16 September. A tour to Crete was booked 2 months in advance at Biblio Globus and the specified hotel was chosen specifically, focusing on its good location. We are not fans of “seal” rest and the “all inclusive” system, and we mentally prepared in advance for the hardships of fate in the form of meager food and uncleaned rooms, described in some reviews.

We are not fans of “seal” rest and the “all inclusive” system, and we mentally prepared in advance for the hardships of fate in the form of meager food and uncleaned rooms, described in some reviews. After reading, we went with the firm intention of changing the hotel upon arrival. But this was not necessary!
To brighten up the waiting for registration, we were treated to freshly brewed Greek coffee. Then we were settled on the 2nd and 3rd floors of the MYTHOS building (numbers 205 and 301, respectively). Both rooms are "studios" with sea views and are quite decent in terms of the quality of cleaning and furniture. The rooms have air conditioning and a small refrigerator. Normal furniture (wide beds, wardrobe, dressing table with mirror, hair dryer, wicker chairs and a table on the balcony) and plumbing. There were no interruptions in hot water. We had breakfast and dinner in the Sofia building. Everything was delicious, varied enough and no one limited us in food. Dined every day at the MYTHOS restaurant, where good service and Mediterranean cuisine.
The hotel has a really warm, homely atmosphere. When we, tired and hungry, returned to the hotel from a tiring excursion to Santorini at half past twelve in the night, we were greeted like family, with smiles and a hot dinner. The next morning we were leaving for a new excursion and, having not seen anyone at the reception at 7 in the morning, we were at first confused, but the car for us arrived on time, since the owner of the hotel, Michalis, ordered it the day before in our absence.
We were satisfied with the work of the hotel staff. Both Michalis and his assistant Svetlana are kind and helpful people with a sense of humor, always ready to help. This owner also owns a five-star hotel with a spa, which we wanted to visit in winter, but, unfortunately, it closes for the winter. We will have to go on New Year's holidays to another country for thalassotherapy, but in the spring we will definitely return to Bali. I recommend vacationers to carefully collect information about the place of rest and carefully read the reviewsso that someone else's negativity does not affect your decision.
For reference: we received a similar service for equivalent conditions (hotel category, location on the first line, a separate room with a sea view and half board) in Cyprus in March 2011 for a little more money than here in the season, and the views were not so gorgeous and sea temperature +18.

Rested from 26.06. 2011 to 07.07. 2011, a family of 2 adults and a child 14 years old. I'll tell you objectively. Whoever travels to Crete, and especially to Mpali (Bali), should know - the terrain: mountains and sea. Many hotels are located on a hill. Specifically, Sofia - the building is located on a hill, the last floor is somewhere around the level of the floor 13-15.

Whoever travels to Crete, and especially to Mpali (Bali), should know - the terrain: mountains and sea. Many hotels are located on a hill. Specifically, Sofia - the building is located on a hill, the last floor is somewhere around the level of the floor 13-15. To be honest, it didn't bother us. It was difficult the first day, out of habit five times climb 10 and back. the next day they got used to it and did not notice it. The view from our room was the sea. The room is standard for a treshka. About cleaning: I read reviews and wonder if the hotel staff has a selective approach to customers, or whether this is the mood of vacationers. In our room, the garbage was taken out every day (although I always left a bag of garbage at the doorstep), the bed was made every day, the floors were washed every day, towels were changed according to the class of the hotel - 1 time in three days. We had our own toiletries, so their guest bar of soap remained there, but they refilled the paper as needed. Tipping 1 euro left only a couple of times. Although they cleaned up without them. About food: continental breakfast (tea, coffee, dry food "flakes" of several types, milk, local yogurt (several types), jams and preserves (several types and not in briquettes, but home-made - delicious), eggs (either boiled or fried eggs), butter, pastries, toasts (local bread), tomatoes, cucumbers, 2 types of cheese and sausages each (and if someone writes that soy cheese, it’s not true, it’s cheaper for them to make their own than to carry soybeans (it’s not there grows), and there the carriers of milk for cheese go everywhere and in herds. I won’t say about sausage, I don’t eat it). I ate every day and never had any consequences. It is also seasoned with salads and just served (almost everywhere). Dinner: can be better, but also edible. 2 meat dishes, vegetables, herbs, salads, 3 types of side dishes, well, etc. I want to note that a lot of Germans rested in the hotel, somewhere around 50%, the rest are Czechs, Russians, Finns. zyaev - normal, adequate people, there were no conflicts, all our problems were settled at a glance. And I personally like the hostess Sofia (although there are enough bad reviews about her) - she placed us ahead of time (we arrived at 6 in the morning), although there was a problem with the rooms. By her order, the room was cleaned for us earlier and we were settled by 10.00, although she could legally at 14.00 (this is the check-in time in all hotels). she always smiled, a couple of times she came and asked if everything was in order (I think it was just out of politeness). The hotel corresponds to 3 and the money paid, so who claims to be cool, take hotels of a higher category. Why we chose Bali and this hotel - the location of this village in the middle between Heraklion and Rethymnon is very convenient. out of all the hotels this is a normal value for the services received. Since we are not homebodies, we only spent the night in hotels, breakfast, and dinner a couple of times - maybe that's why we didn't encounter any problems. About food in Crete - everything is tasty and affordable in all restaurants. Example: lamb in foil with vegetables and herbs (garnish is not needed, it is included in the price of the dish) - from 6-8 euros (huge portions - taken for two), Greek salad - 4.5 euros, fish from 5 euros (and beyond flight of fancy), bolognese 5 euros (the portion is just huge). beer from 2.5 euros, wine (jug) from 3.5 euros.....For a dinner for three with wine (and we did not save on food, we took what we liked) it took us max. 35 euros, you can put in 20-25. I advise you to visit about. Gramvousa, Chania, Rethymno, Heraklion (on your own with a guidebook, since you walk in a herd with a guide and quickly, we didn’t like it, so we went almost everywhere ourselves). Transport: rental car or public (all comfortable, runs strictly on schedule, no amenities). Also active is the Samaria Gorge - very beautiful, but hard for those who are not used to walking. In the mountains (real boulders and crossings) 18 km. Therefore, immediately stock up on hats, comfortable shoes (they bought local sneakers for the child, so they were in the trash at the exit from the gorge), elastic bandages, because there is a big load on the joints of the legs, especially the knees (the descent on half-bent stones is about 5 km if taken in the total mass of the path), swimsuits (at the exit from the gorge, the sea, where you even need to plunge), well, you can take extra. socks. Crete ok. liked it.

I stayed at this hotel in June 2001! The place is very Beautiful, but I advise those who want to enjoy the silence to go there. Boring!!! ! The hotel is a complete waste !!! ! Everything: from location, service, food, etc! From the beach to the Mythos building - 73 steps and to the last floor of Sofia another 73! There are a lot of birds, they live right under the roof and chirp from early morning until late at night, but this is nonsense when you consider that they shit on the balcony, and the maid, when she cleans up, delivers all this to the room! The dining room is a separate horror! The sticky oilcloth is glued to the table with adhesive tape, squalor all around! The pool is a parody, but it is not needed! The beach and the sea are just amazing, although the garbage has never been removed during the holiday! The general impression of the rest - Crete is a miracle !! ! But not in Sophia Mythos !! !.

Crete is great, Bali is great, Sophia Mythos is all right guys, don't mess with your brain. as our host said "if you want to eat - go to Egypt or Turkey" and he is right - why go to Crete if you are going to dig into your plate, bed linen and urn, in Crete it is absolutely all the same how often you change your linen how they clean the dishes, how many types of sausages are served for breakfast, , , , Sofia Mythos - the 3rd bay, the beach is divided into two parts by a cliff, the second - with a pier where boats stand, the beach is sandy, there is a shower, the hotel has two buildings, Mythos is more expensive, descends to the beach to the sea, in the upper part it has a paid restaurant with a good view, Sofia is across the road to the right, up the mountain, in the lower part of the hotel there is a free restaurant for breakfast and dinner, there are very high rooms, there are frankly bad ones, the TV is not worth it, you need ask for the remote control from the conder, too, ask at the reception.

The village is wonderful, friendly and cozy, the landscapes are charming, the sea is clean, flowers are blooming, birds are singing, even a rooster is crowing in the morning - isn't that happiness? ! take a car - it's almost the same in all directions - visit Rethymno Chania Herakleion Knossos Malia Matala Agios Nikolaos, fly to Athens for a day, swim to Santorini - and you will understand that your concern about living conditions is pure nonsense, Crete gives truly moments of complete unforgettable bliss

This family, at the very entrance to the hotel, hangs out their old underwear, grandfather's smelly pontaloons, etc. . . not aesthetic. This family also monitors who eats how much and puts it on their plate. Once Grandmother Sophia, mother Michalis, scolded a little girl in front of us for having collected a lot of watermelon. The girl cried for a long time because she didn’t understand a word that the old woman was shouting to her in Greek, and then she took the plate away and dumped the watermelon again into the general pile! Not nice, provided that it is firstly a child and secondly, we kind of paid for it!? ! The rooms are clean, the staff is mostly friendly. But here's another problem is Michalis. In the beginning, he seemed to be a very friendly person, but then. . . leaving her room, our neighbor caught him when he pinched her child, a girl of 10 years old!!!! ! It was terrible! She told us what she saw, and we went to find out, because she did not speak neither English nor Greek. We flew to the reception and demanded an explanation, to which Michalis threatened to call the police and file a complaint against us that we were engaged in prostitution, and even hit our poor neighbor. We could not get through to the Pegasus travel agency. The next day we had a departure and we never found out how this business ended, but it was not pleasant. The locals told us that this is not the first case and the owner of the hotel is not indifferent to little boys! Friends, this is terrible! Be careful when you eat with your children in this hotel! Let it be several thousand cheaper than others, but in my opinion the most rotten in the village of Bali!

I do not recommend to go to this hotel. It is better to pay more and choose, in the same place in Bali (the place is very good, cozy) another hotel. The hostess Sophia is greedy and mercantile. There are a lot of shortcomings in the rooms, there are no elementary hooks in the bathrooms, linen is changed extremely rarely.

If you have an early transfer, do not count on a lunch box, and stock up on food, especially if you have children. It was Sophia who humiliated us so much, counted us, and eventually refused, although she herself endured everything against the Germans and the French. Shame. We do not recommend going there.
