The evening program, a disco, is aimed at locals, since they are the majority there.
Due to the lack of air conditioning and in general the hotel often smells like some downright cheap toilet deodorant. On the plus side - very nice, large water area
, where to swim. In the middle is a nice little pontoon for lounging around and sunbathing. The location is almost in the center, close to shops and everything. There is no animation at all; once in 11 days there was a simple show. We were lucky with the weather. Overall it's an average place, you could stay for a week. If you adapt. I absolutely do not recommend it to the elderly and with small children. I definitely won't be back!
Cleaning and refilling air conditioners is done in one day, as well as washing these napkin holders at least before the start of the season!
We arrived at the hotel at 4 am, check-in was strictly after 2 pm, so we had to sleep on sofas in the lobby. The room was given at 14:20 on the 1st floor 2046 overlooking the wall and roof of the kitchen with noisy hoods at a distance of 2 meters from the balcony! Of course, we refused and immediately gave these cards to the next, they walk in a circle with them))) There are no other numbers or come in 2 days, then we will relocate. After much persuasion, it turned out to literally knock out a better room 4038 on the 4th floor with a view of the mountains and kitchen hoods downstairs, the smells of which we enjoyed every evening before dinner. There is no soundproofing in the room at all.
From room 4037 and their toilet, we heard absolutely EVERYTHING, I won’t list it) There was never a room cleaning for 7 days, they didn’t take out the garbage, they didn’t add paper, they took the foot towel, but they didn’t leave a new one, I had to contact reception. Once they left a bag of garbage on the sink next to the toothbrushes, it’s just trash, I’ve never seen anything like it anywhere ...There was also no elementary cosmetic repairs in the room after last season, the walls were dirty, beaten with stains, the seams in the shower were yellow-black colors, in short - no one needs it, because the main contingent of the hotel is poor Turks and Russians, for them the cost of this hotel is 2 times less than for Ukrainians, so everything suits them.
The sea and mountains around are the only thing that I really liked, the sea is clean, clear, warm and calm, the buoys are far away, for those who like to swim, it’s generally a buzz.
My son liked to jump from the pier and the raft, but it is impossible to enter from the shore without shoes, first large pebbles, then boulders, sometimes slippery. The beach is an anthill, there is no distance between the sunbeds, there is practically no protection from the sun, a green net is stretched on the old umbrellas with peeling paint, which gives only 50% shade, many sunbeds are generally completely in the sun. I decided to meet the sunrise on the beach and take a seat on the pier after the incident when an elderly Turkish woman decided to sit with me on my sunbed in a wet swimsuit! My son was on the second sunbed nearby, we talked and honestly didn’t know how to react to this, we were so surprised. As it turned out, she and her husband occupied one sunbed for two, the husband lay down, and there was no place for her, except to sit on someone else's sunbed next to a stranger.
And what were the scandals when some of the vacationers decided that they were especially smart and took their places from the night, and in the morning the guard collected all these towels and took them to the bungalow on the beach. In general, there was not even a smell of a relaxing holiday without hassle.
There are also crowds of people in the restaurant, constant dissatisfaction and claims, and there is a reason for that. If you came to the opening, then probably everything is OK. But literally in half an hour adventures begin. The owner of the hotel saves on everything! Everything is done so that there are queues for the most delicious and there is not enough of it for everyone. For example, stuffed pita bread is made by one person, obviously not in a hurry. Trying them is a great success, because from one sheet 4 pita bread is enough for 5 people, they are raked in such quantities that it is unrealistic for a normal person to eat. You need to wait 5-6 minutes for the next batch, and there are about a thousand people in the hotel. The same in the morning with pastries.
Once there was lamb, so it was such a performance that you don’t even need to go to the circus! A huge queue of people waited for this meat for 2 hours, but they never cooked it, i. e. the meat on the skewer was initially raw, at 19:00 the cook began to cook it, it was being cooked, but it was not cooked))) We tried chosen lucky ones, or rather poor people, who, standing in this line, pounded other dishes. The hungry Turks raised a cry, but the meat didn’t cook faster from this) The sweets were tasteless, delicious, they sorted it out right away, we got a cheesecake once, but it’s so-so compared to other hotels. From fruits, watermelons, melons, pears, apples, oranges, grapefruits, sometimes apricots - if you have time))) In June, without cherries - it's just a shame!
There is no tasty fish, grilled chicken was also sorted out, people went to knock out the next portion with a scandal. I wrote about the heat in the restaurant and moldy air conditioners above.
More about rotavirus.
Then some of the neighbors on the sunbeds had a child sick, diarrhea, vomiting, fever, weakness, then other acquaintances, then others came up to ask for medicine, because pharmacies are closed on Sundays. Then the woman the next day after the fish a la carte had the same symptoms.
The bartenders work well, but what kind of 5 * hotel is it that does not make cocktails at the beach bar and lobby bar ? ! On the beach, only beer and their sour aldehyde wine. Cocktails are made in the bar by the pool and in the basement, which is rarely visited. Read above - the owner saves on everything! Where is the mint in the mojito? The answer is over. Instead of mint, eucalyptus syrup tastes like mouthwash. And is this a 5* hotel?
I liked the animation. We went to the nursery and then to adult fun contests and shows. BUT the wooden flooring gets dirty, the expensive dress is spoiled by some kind of sticky oil, or drying oil. Nearby people were sitting on packages, I also thought some strange ones.
During the day, we did not attend events, we were at the sea and in the water park. The location of the water park is unfortunate, far from the sea. The slides are old, the sun burns mercilessly, because there is no cover. There are no rugs for twisted slides, the joints were felt. The owner saves on everything!
To go to this madhouse and a farce or not, it's up to you, but my advice is definitely not! The hotel is CLEARLY NOT DESIGNED for so many people. Thank you for reading to the end) And yes - check-out is strictly until 12:00, be prepared for those who have a late flight like we do. It is impossible to extend a hotel room for any money, even before lunch!
simply do not have time to get your portion of meat, although there is plenty of vegetables in any form. The end of the vacation was also unpleasant - we almost missed the plane. Instead of terminal 1 indicated on the itinerary, the driver took us to terminal 2 and left us safely. I summarize:
The hotel corresponds to an average of 3 *, and food and services are even worse. The only advantage is no more than 200 m from the coastline, although the hotel's beach itself is not fully maintained.
Arrived before dinner. We were few, settled quickly. We asked for the room above and we were given the 3rd floor at no extra charge. Wi-Fi is everywhere. Even in the room! Mountain view - great view. Not all rooms have this. The reception staff is polite.
The hotel is mostly Russian. The last three days a lot of locals came. There were long queues in the restaurant. Feeding norms, but not what we expected.
Territory. Not as big as it seemed, the part is occupied by the field. But we are in the city - there is a place to walk. Wolf-water park, honestly, it's scary, but the kids there splashed. We went there for ice cream.
Number. With a good look, but very sad. Especially the bathroom. Nothing was taken away! At check-in I had to wipe everything with my wet wipes, because it was already 8 pm. No cleaning. The bed was changed once in 9 nights and she had to be caught and demanded. I changed towels, added everything to the bath and did not clean anything.
The floor was not washed even in the bathroom. He does not understand Russian.
Sea. Miracles. Blue clear water. No wonder they have the Blue Flag - an international award for beaches whose water meets high quality standards and is suitable for safe swimming. The water was relatively warm. You remember a little, you enter and want to leave. Pebble. Preferably slippers coral. But the people are impenetrable. All barefoot. They writhe, but crawl on the rocks, and in the water they are big and slippery. Sneakers are for sale.
Beach. It's bad, but there's nothing you can do. The coastline and the width of the beach are very small for such a hotel. All lie close to each other. And this if you manage to take a deck chair. We read about it, but hoped that autumn would be freer. They hoped in vain. There were scandals. I think that in summer it is very sad with the beach. In the afternoon we did not go to the beach. The sun sets quickly and is uncomfortable. The beach bar has potatoes, burgers and beer. Not all of them.
We walked around the city and shops.
On Monday and Thursday comes the mobile market, which travels through all the villages of Kemer. On Monday - grocery. On Thursday - real. Everything is expensive and not interesting. What is their passion for colored powder sultan tea? Bought, drink and do not understand.
This year we betrayed ourselves - we went to Turkey, not Egypt, as usual. Next year we will choose Egypt in November.
All liked it. Yes, the hotel is not new, we knew it, we saw some shortcomings, but if you are not Olya Freimud, then you will like it.
Nice friendly hotel, great staff. The room is good, after partial renovation, towels and toiletries were changed every day. The air conditioner worked great. There is a safe in the room (free! ), Wi-Fi everywhere is excellent and also free.
The food is varied, just enough. We haven't tried everything in 8 days.
The pool is very clean. Beach through the transition and a small square. The sea is clean, small-pebble beach, a small pontoon.
Everything is great! Go, you won't regret it.
The location of the rooms was towards the backyard and the amphitheater so it was very quiet which is a big plus.
Rooms are cleaned daily, with the replacement of towels and bath accessories. There are always bottles of water in the bar, split systems and air conditioners worked perfectly and constantly. The rooms also have a free safe and everywhere on the territory and even on the beach there is free excellent Wi-Fi and it's really cool.
The food is really great. We have not tried even half of the dishes in 8 days. The kitchen is top notch! Beef, turkey, chicken, lamb daily. Vegetables, fruits, confectionery in abundance. The bars were also great. From alcohol, good local beer, and the rest of the alcohol is local and the degree is somewhat underestimated, but in general it is enough. I liked the local whisky. But wine of all kinds is a rare muck. Although they open and pour it from factory bottles. I would advise the hotel to make changes to the wine list.
The territory of the hotel is large and this is a big plus, there is where to walk and what to do. The beaches are clean and well-groomed, the sea is fresh milk.
But, before the arrival of the Russian brothers, it was not a problem to find a place on the beach at 8.00 in the morning, but with the appearance of the latter at 7.00, all the sunbeds were thrown with towels and some of their owners managed to appear on the beach right after lunch, i. e. the places were free, but cattle it and cattle in Africa. Recently, a friend who stayed at this hotel called me and said that he usually occupied a place at 6.30, and then one fine day the Russians were taken out on a campaign and it was free right up to lunch. And as always, when the latter arrive, empty bottles from under the Dyutik drunkard begin to appear on the tables near the rooms, and people with an unsteady gait begin to roam the corridors.
There were very few children in the hotel, or we simply did not notice them, at least they did not bother us, with the exception of planes and buses.
An excellent team of animators, as well as constant shows in the amphitheater, Turkish evenings and is a plus.
Delicious tortillas at the pool bar is a unique feature of the hotel.
I also cannot fail to mention Zafar (aka Zakhar Petrovich), a hotel employee who will surely talk you into going to the hammam for a massage. It's cool, but expensive, 30 bucks from the nose.
Minuses:
1. The free a la carte declared on the site for once every 7 days did not correspond to reality, but received guests for 10 bucks per person, which was very upsetting, although we had enough of the main restaurant.
2. There is a fitness room, it works, it has a lot of exercise equipment, but in order to save money or because this option, free ventilation and air conditioning have always been turned off, and some exercise equipment require replacement or good repair.
3. Considering the ultra status, there was no imported alcohol - and this was a little disappointing. Juices were also paid, only ice cream for free and by the way very tasty.
4. Perhaps due to quarantine, the pool was closed at 19.
00, although when you look at the busik of a neighboring hotel and at 22.00 people are splashing in it, the toad still presses.
Summing up, I ask myself the question: "Would we come here again? ". You know, at the hotel we met a woman who came to this hotel for the 10th time and there were quite a few of them. Therefore, despite all the whiners, nauseous, pedants and neat people who deliberately underestimate the hotel, I will put 10, despite the shortcomings, they can be found in the most expensive hotel. And definitely we would come to Rox Royal more than once, although I would like to try something else for a change. And I would like to wish the administration of Rox Royal to eliminate the shortcomings and always receive decent and worthy guests.
Thanks to all. The review is true. Have a nice holiday everyone!
The air conditioning in the room is good, but everything else is just awful: stains on the floor; there are no handles on the door to the balcony; the handle in the bathroom hangs on one screw; there are no ceiling lamps on two lamps; black mold in the bathroom; the shell is broken; the furniture was tattered, the ceiling cracked. The refrigerator is so tiny that, apart from three 0.3 bottles of water, nothing fits in there. The pillowcases are all stained. The bed for 9 nights was not changed once. The towels in the bathroom were simply folded, as if they had been changed, but the stains were old. What struck me the most was that the hotel website contained false information. Instead of the declared two courts - one, instead of a private beach - common, beach towels cannot be changed.
On the beach, which they call sand and pebbles on the site, there is no sand at all, only pebbles. Where did they count 7 bars? Hardly found 4.5. For half I counted the counter, where they give only water and tea. In the mini-bar rooms promised the presence of water and soft drinks. I only saw water. Well, now about the main thing - the sea. The sea is almost always clean, but because. since guests from other hotels use the beach, it is no longer possible to find a free sunbed at 8 o'clock in the morning. The pier is not stationary. It consists of plastic buoys fastened together without any protection. Only one ladder leads to the sea from it, which is always crowded with people. With a slight wave of water, the pier begins to sway and the leg can be squeezed between the buoys. The road to the sea goes past a dirty chicken coop, which for some reason is called a mini-zoo on the website. Waste from the kitchen is poured directly onto the ground. The stink is terrible, it is impossible to get around. Next to the chicken coop are two dirty, flowering ponds with tadpoles. Chickens and roosters walk right across the territory. I wonder if the hotel management knows that this is not safe for small children? A rooster can easily peck a child in the eye.
But two things struck me the most. First: for a lost bracelet made of a thin ribbon, a fine of $ 25. Two of my friends lost their bracelets on the second day, my son on the fourth. An excellent way to earn extra money. You can also make paper bracelets. Second, the wine served in this hotel is dangerous to health. It's practically wine vinegar. I say this as a professional sommelier. If a person in a bar asked for wine, then he had just arrived. The second time, no one took the risk. If you get a pool view room, be prepared to stay up until 24:00. That's the end of the disco, which takes place every evening. I chose this hotel because of the rather large territory, but it turned out that a quarter of it is occupied by a huge football field, which the hotel rents out.
Well, the last of the minuses: of all the tables by the pool in the shade, only six. The rest are in the hot sun. And this is for 325 rooms! But as an objective person, I can't help but mention the pluses of the hotel: good beer; clear reception work: the presence of inexpensive shops right in the building (pay attention to the new generation silicone suitcases presented there) and food, about which I want to say a few more words. It is thanks to the chef that it seems to me that the hotel is not hopeless. Almost all dishes are not just edible, but even tasty, which is a rarity for Turkey. The only thing I didn't like was the lack of olive oil in the salads and the long queues for distribution.
The territory of the hotel is good - there is where to walk, sit and relax. Go to the beach for about 2 minutes through the underpass (when it was autumn, they opened the door so that you could pass through the road, but now it was closed). On the way to the beach you will pass a mini zoo (ducks, chickens.
In the mornings, you can hear the cock singing)))) There were enough sunbeds on the sea at any time of the day, but we were at a time when Russians were still not allowed in large numbers. I think that with their arrival, it will be necessary to get up at sea early. For example, in the fall I did just that, there were a lot of people in the hotel, but getting up in the morning is not at all problematic for me. Quite a big pool (in the evening there are discos and karaoke near it). On the other side of the hotel there is an amphitheater (an animation program in the evenings), a children's area, a water park (the slides are all interesting and a little scary). After lunch, they serve ice cream and Turkish cakes - gozleme (sooo delicious).
By the way, at the expense of food, it is all delicious. I do not agree with the commentators who write that the food is monotonous. It seems that at home no one eats borscht for 2-3 days, and on vacation everyone becomes a gourmet) I have something to compare with, so there is enough of everything here - meat, fish, vegetables, and fruits.
There are a lot of desserts, different pastries. Local alcohol has become better.
The rating of the hotel is 9, as there are some comments about the staff. The bartender at the sea and some waiters in the dining room do everything with such a face as if you didn’t come for money, but ask them for free. They have their own good attitude towards Turkish guests, and to everyone else - at will. They can, when it suits them, pretend that they do not understand Russian/Ukrainian/English. Although, everyone understands perfectly. In principle, this is a trifle, but the sediment, as they say, remained. I repeat that only a few guys from the staff do this. The rest are great! Despite the terrifying heat, they are wearing masks, smiling, joking, wishing you bon appetit and it is felt that this is sincere. Unfortunately, I didn’t remember the name of the bartender, a very young guy (he was in the restaurant for lunch and in the lobby) is mega friendly and pleasant.
Separately, I would like to thank the person who stood at the distribution of soups, always smiling, was polite. Also, a great guy stands on the distribution of cakes and bakery products.
In principle, there are many reviews about the hotel. I want to focus on something else. Excursions can be safely taken in the agency on the street. They have a price in dollars, and the guide in euros. By the way, if you don’t take a tour from a guide, he will start to find fault with you, thereby creating discomfort. I advise you to quickly pick up your documents, say right away that you are not going on an excursion and leave. I would not mind taking excursions from a guide, but the price is much higher. I don’t understand why not make the price competitive, because they themselves know that now tourists are no longer the same as 10 years ago, when they were afraid to take on the street.
Moreover, I want to note that it doesn’t matter where you take the tour - from a guide in a hotel or at an agency on the street, in any case, you will be brought along the road to all sorts of leather / textile / onyx shops, etc. The buses are large, comfortable, with air conditioning, the driver drove so skillfully along the serpentine that he didn’t block his ears, he didn’t feel bad, and he wanted to leave a tip for his professionalism. I recommend reading the article “Lycian tombs, Santa Claus and the sunken city of Kekova” on the Internet; you will visit all this before going to the church of St. Nicholas (the price of the tour is $20, an additional $12 entrance to the temple, + if you wish, you can buy an icon in the store, which you will be taken to before visiting the temple. I recommend taking the icon already when you leave the temple - the prices are cheaper). The excursion to Pammukale lasts all day - at 5 am pick up from the hotel at 20:30 bring.
On the way to Pammukale, they will be delivered to a textile store - you can take a towel there, etc. , the quality is good. You can also visit the Turkish Maldives by ship, the cable car, whoever wants to can fly to Istanbul or Cappadocia. Almost everywhere you can pay with a bank card, money is converted at a reasonable rate and it comes out even cheaper than paying in dollars.
For those who do not want to go on excursions, there is where to take a walk in Kemer itself. If you turn left when leaving the hotel, you will go out into the street with shops (there will be a Waikiki store on the corner. Many people bought things for children there and said that it was cheaper than in Ukraine or Russia). There is also a travel agency on this street - feel free to take excursions there. There is also a pharmacy, but I advise you to walk a little along the street, because the prices in it are expensive and they are not particularly traded.
There are no prices in pharmacies, so feel free to bargain and know that for $ 10 you can buy 2 creams (you may be able to get them even cheaper). Take panthenol spray, aloe vera gel and cream with spf 50 for the first 2-3 days by the sea in the first aid kit with you on a trip. Everything burns instantly! The sun is mega aggressive, so take care of yourself!
If you turn right when leaving the hotel, then you will pass by the mini zoo and exit either to the embankment or to the square in front of which there is a large inscription KEMER and the house upside down. In the same direction there is a disco / karaoke / hookah.
All in all, I recommend this hotel. Remember that you can find fault with everything, but this hotel has minor disadvantages that are not reflected in any way on the rest in general. A lot of letters came out, if you have questions, I will be happy to answer.
