We. tourists who have already passed Turkey, Egypt, Montenegro and Croatia, we are not very positive about all-inclusive food, but when compared, it is definitely better than Egypt and Turkey 5 stars, but worse than Montenegro (at least where we were). I do not agree with the reviews that everything is very tasty and varied. There was practically no seafood, there was only one type of fish and fish sticks of unknown origin. everything is bland and not tasty, on the 3rd day I wanted terribly borscht or okroshka : ). But they pleased with their cheeses, that's what was delicious, because they are of different varieties and for every taste. Drinks are all local free of charge in any quantity until 24-00.
Accommodation.
The hotel is located between two villages: Platanias and Gerani. We didn’t go to the geraniums, but to Platanias it’s about 1-1.5 km, about 15 minutes on foot. There are many cafes and shops. We went there mainly to find a cafe with wifi, because the internet in the hotel is paid with poor speed.
Environment.
90% foreigners: pensioners and couples with children. Sometimes there was not enough communication in their native language : )
Rest.
The hotel does not have very good animation, at the level of a pioneer camp, animators are young girls and guys from Belgium who do not speak Russian. But it's ok for kids. Near the Caldera Beach hotel, where we were allowed to watch their entertainment programs, but there you have to pay for food and drink, which is not very convenient.
We did not go on excursions, since the minimum price per person is from 50 euros, so we rented a car. This was an active learning experience! During the day we managed to go to Elafonisi (pink sands), stopped by, had lunch at our hotel and drove to the other side of the island to the fresh lake Kournas. this is the only way to get to know Crete with its small villages, friendly people. We also traveled by bus to the city of Chania. Also oh. liked the old town with small winding streets and a large promenade in the Venetian style.
In general, we liked everything about the hotel, the room, and the service is not intrusive, the sea and the beach are clean, the weather is great. You need to go, though lonely and without children it is better to find more fun places : )

We rested this summer in Atlantika Caldera Creta Paradise 4+. Rest were satisfied. The hotel matches the description. We were given rooms in the Olympus buildings. As already mentioned in previous reviews, this is across the street from the main building, but peace and quiet are guaranteed. The rooms are good.

We traveled with six of us, took 3 standard rooms, instead of 2-bed rooms we got 3- and 4-bed rooms. True, one of them had a cramped bathroom. Rooms are cleaned daily, linen change - 2 times a week. Safe in rooms free of charge. You can eat all day, starting from 6-30 in the morning until one in the morning - in one of the bars-restaurants, have something to eat. There are beach towels, free of charge and without a deposit, but most of them are very old and faded. Therefore, if there is room in the suitcase, it is better to take your own. The food is good, but very, very little seafood, for 2 weeks of rest - once there were shrimp, once - shrimp salad, once - some other "shells". Minus - often the dishes smoothly move from breakfast to lunch or from lunch to dinner, etc. From dinner, all cuts remain in their place, by morning they only fold more neatly, and the sausage sometimes turns sour. . . The youth is boring, there is no entertainment, the disco is far away - not 800 m in any way. For 6-7 euros you can get to Platanias, take a walk, there are many shops, taverns. The staff is attentive and friendly, no complaints. We rented a car in Platanias. They took a brand new Peugeot 308, only 2 weeks. typewriter, for 3 days for 167 euros. It is better to buy excursions in the same Platanias or in Chania - the price is exactly 2 times less than the Kalamaki guides offer, and everyone is taken in the same buses, boats, boats, etc. For example, on about. We went to the monastery of Preveli (upper) - an ancient monastery (16th century) with a miraculous cross. From there we went to the Libyan Sea. Thus, in one trip we visited 3 seas, in general, Crete is surrounded by 4 seas: the Cretan in the North, the Libyan in the South, the Myrtoan and Carpathian on the sides. The island is very beautiful, but you need to travel to see it - you will not see beauty while sitting in a hotel. I almost forgot to write about the hotel beach. I did not like. Pebbles, it hurts to get in and out, we bought slippers, but it’s not very pleasant to swim in them, but there was no way out. If at least a small storm, then in general a "pipe" - you can't enter the sea. My mother, and she is already 73 years old, swam in the pool almost all the time. With children, it will also be difficult to swim - except perhaps in the pool. But I love the sea very much, but I am indifferent to the pools. That's all in a nutshell. Summary: the price of the tour to the hotel (we took 1000 euros per person for 14 nights, all inclusive, standard room, peak season) corresponds to the quality. But we didn't really want to. Composition of tourists: 70% Scandinavians, the rest from all over Europe. Russian speakers were met by 8 people in our race. The neighboring half of the hotel is positioned more expensive and ours are not there. The hotel is very cozy, good especially for children. Animation seems to be there, but it is almost invisible, everything is in English. The food is super, but not enough purely Greek cuisine. Drinks by all are quite tolerable. But if you come across a room with a private pool (like me), all other shortcomings will be forgotten immediately. It's worth the ride. Didn't hear much noise. The lobby bar closes at 24-00 and there is complete silence. There are a lot of greens. The beach is sand. The entrance to the sea is pebbles (it’s more convenient in slippers. First, the Italians have fun in the amphitheater until 2 am, and in general, even run from the hotel, because it is not possible to hide from this. The hotel is very compact (you can, of course, move to the Olympus territory at this time (there is silence and grace), but you won’t sit in Olympus every time until 2 am : )
You can walk around Palanas (which we started to do occasionally), you can still sit in the bar of the main building, but sometimes you just want to sleep : )
After 2 hours this huge group of Italians moves to the pool bar and then you can go to our bungalow to relax, but people who live in bungalows around the pool become very fun.
