Infrastructure: territory and rooms are clean, cleaned daily; there are pools: children's and for older children and adults. Some suites, apparently, have individual small pools. There is a standard gym, tennis court, mini football field, beach volleyball court.
Beach: width of the beach about 80 m, depth about 15. Sand and pebbles. Sunbeds and umbrellas are free. Fresh shower and toilet nearby. It is best to go by the sea from the pontoon, because there is a large pebble on the shore. Then the bottom of the sand. It is only 100 meters from the shore. It is better to swim with a mask and in flippers or rubber sneakers, because there are large stones in which sea urchins sit, well, you will see fish at the same time.
Meals: I liked the restaurant and pool bar. The cuisine is very tasty: many delicacies - snails, mussels, squid, octopus, sushi.
Large assortment of main dishes, desserts and fruits. I really liked it. Going on a tour - you can order a lunch box the night before.
Contingent of vacationers: there were few young people, mostly retirees from Europe.
Animation: daily in the evening at the pool bar. There were folk Greek dances, karaoke, live music.
Near the hotel: on the left if you look at the sea a few kilometers of beach Kavros, which can reach the town of Georgopoli. If you go in parallel, but along the route, you will find local supermarkets, taverns, travel agencies, etc. Along the way you will also find a road train that will take you for 3 euros to the only large freshwater lake in Crete called Cournas.
The hotel is a short drive from Heraklion Airport: a 2-year drive away.
I recommend the hotel. I think 7 is a high score. 8 and above are already luxury hotels.
The beach is cool, right next to the hotel. Sun loungers and umbrellas are free. At the entrance there are large pebbles and it is advisable to have special shoes.
The food is excellent. Moreover, from 11 am in the bar a luxurious selection of food: pastries, ice cream, fruits.
Many thanks to the hotel and its staff for an incredible stay - very, very much!! !
We rented a seven-seater Volkswagen Caddy Maxi for a week. Eurocars drove the car to the hotel and picked it up from the hotel.
Instead of a navigator, there was a detailed map, quite understandable and accurate. We traveled all over Crete in a week. Very beautiful landscapes, especially if you climb high into the mountains along rural roads. .
So the holiday was a success!
2. Nutrition. very good. Of course, there are no 30 buffet rows, as in Turkey, but this is not necessary. always a choice of pork / chicken / fish / veal / lamb. sometimes seafood. fruits: watermelons, melons, apples, peaches, pears, kiwi, apricots. the first - only dinner and only one puree soup. tea / coffee only for breakfast, or in the pool bar. drinks to choose from - all sorts of cola sprites, tasteless juice concentrates, beer, dry wine, water. every Thursday barbecue evening is generally a celebration of the stomach.
3. Staff. very friendly and welcoming. Receptionists are always ready to help. they know Russian poorly, English, German, French, Italian - well.
4. Entertainment. rotten. animation is not very good, designed for sedate and calm Germans. Russian music at the disco is retro and reluctant, because the Fritz are unhappy. but we asked for a DJ and he set) there are several sporting events, rather sluggish aqua aerobics. The pool bar offers board games and cards. tennis tables and court. gym. FREE WIRED INTERNET IN THE ROOMS!! ! take notes!
5. Numbers. good, no frills, cleaning every day, linen change every 2 days. decent linen - not washed. mini bar is empty - i. e. if you want, fill it out yourself. small 2 soaps and shower gels - once a day of arrival. hairdryer. air conditioner. TV - one Russian channel. there is a big BUT: very fig soundproofing. very very bogus. newlyweds, keep in mind, the hotel is family) ask for rooms away from everyone, although it is unlikely to help)
6. District. boring. the tourist village is a 15-minute leisurely walk, which is not at all stressful, the weather there is now better than at home - up to 30 degrees at our 40-43. in the village there are souvenir shops, supermarkets, shops "for those who have forgotten something", a lot of cafes, a fur shop, but the quality of the products is very poor. there is also a sightseeing train station - visit, choose something. tour operator tours (Tez) are expensive, especially in terms of the most popular and interesting excursions. car rental is an option, but you have to fiddle with guidebooks. taxi 1.5 euro kilometer. Another option is to take a bus to Chania or Rethymnon and take a sightseeing bus there, where you will be given headphones with excursion information in Russian.
in general - a very good family hotel for a family holiday with a good area, especially in comparison with nearby ones. If you haven't cleared up a question, please ask.
Rested in July 2008. (02.07 - 12.07). Married couple 30 years old + child 4 years old.
They fell for advertising - they decided to buy a ticket to TEZ-TOUR. On a multi-channel phone they ask what art. the nearest metro to you, and switch to territorial agencies.
My closest one was Baumanskaya. Agency: st. Baumanskaya, 13 building 3. Malachite-SV tour.
Manager - Alexander.
I outlined the requirements for the hotel, called Hydramis Palace, because. We liked it according to the descriptions on the Internet.
To which Alexander replied that he returned from Crete a week ago, he was in this hotel, the hotel is excellent.
I outlined only two requirements: a sandy beach (marked as a critical requirement) and individual air conditioning in the room.
Alexander said that the beach is sand, he checked with his colleagues about the air conditioner and confirmed: yes, individual.
After that, we began to choose the date of departure. The date range of 14 days suited us. I asked to pick up any date for us, the main thing is that a decent airline and a NOT TU-154 plane.
To which I was offered a flight on July 2, Aeroflot, IL-86. And it was proposed to pay 75 euros from the nose for the fact that the flight is regular. I agreed. Then (after a couple of days) it turned out that there was no group transfer, you need to pay extra for an individual one.
We arrived at Sheremetyevo, boarded the plane, it turned out to be an old broken-down TU-154!
4 hours in a tight squealing shell and we are in Crete. By the end of the flight, the anger had subsided a bit. We arrived at the hotel (individual transfer Mercedes E class + 100 euros - worth it, because the drive is 90 km. ) - the hotel immediately made a good impression, the mood rose, things went to the room, for dinner and to the beach. And then the shock - BEACH - CObblestones !!!
For us it was a very big nuisance, because. knew that there was no animation for children in the hotel and planned that the child would at least swim in the sea and play enough in the sand. (as a result, the child spent most of the time in a chlorinated pool, where every second must be observed so that he does not slip on the tiles, jump into the adult pool, etc. )
In general, the agency did not do its job. And the money was received (the total cost of the tour is almost 6.000 US dollars). Moreover, for the indicated claims (the rest is spoiled by 30 percent), only apologies.
It's useless to demand anything. The contract is standard, short. Cash is accepted! without a check! under some obscure receipts, and they take both rubles and foreign currency.
(The fact that they evade paying taxes, violate currency laws is their business, and the business of law enforcement agencies, but the lack of normal documents deprives customers of the opportunity to make claims or complicates this task) To be honest, I did not expect TEZ-TOUR to work like this.
No more in TEZ-TOUR. (apparently they can’t cope with a large number of tourists, the prices are the same as everyone else, but there is no service + semi-legal methods of work). Thankfully there is a choice.
As for the work of TEZ-TOUR: the guide girl (Nastya) is young, pleasant and unobtrusive. We were not informed about the time of departure from the hotel (as promised), we had to call ourselves several times. At the airport of Heraklion (and it is rather stupid, at the level of an airport somewhere in a small city in Russia), there were no representatives of only one company on departure - TEZ-TOUR (or rather, they were (5 people), but they sat in a cafe and had a nice conversation between himself), and at that time 2 planes were flying to Russia and heaps of Russian tourists were rushing around the airport. If it were not for representatives of other operators, we would have suffered there.
Hotel.
Building: the hotel is more or less new. The building is in excellent condition. Everything is neat, clean.
Room: we had a family room, the room is very decent. Two rooms: in the first one there is a double bed, a wardrobe, 2 bedside tables, a table + 2 chairs, a TV (2 Russian channels), a refrigerator, an air conditioner, a balcony; Two full bathrooms. One is larger and in marble, the second is smaller and simpler.
Attention: the hotel has rooms located under the pool. They say it's not very comfortable, you can hear the sound of water, etc. , but on the other hand they are 50m from the sea.
There are also cool rooms (but there are few of them) with their own pool (3 * 3), which has access directly from the balcony (terrace) of the room. (they stand like a family approximately)
Territory: at first glance, there is not much greenery. At least, she does not dominate, but everything is very nice, well-groomed.
In general, everything is like on advertising booklets and on the hotel website, one to one.
Two pools: one for children (60cm depth 5m * 5m approximately), the second large adult (from 90cm depth)
Beach: Attention! Beach - pebbles (cobblestones). Although in most descriptions - sand.
The sand on the beach was in some places one day, apparently washing up sometimes. A very uncomfortable slippery bridge is equipped to enter the sea. The problem of entering the sea is solved by purchasing special rubber slippers - shoe covers (4 euros in any store in the nearest village), but there is nothing for children to do on the beach. Playing on a pebble is unrealistic. Basically, everyone spends time in the pool (with bleach).
There is sand at the bottom of the sea. The water is great. No reptiles, hedgehogs, jellyfish. Small waves, no algae (occasionally and very little)
Meals: there are no complaints about the food (we had all inclusive). Once a week - Cretan evening (tables are set on the street, a lot of dishes on fire / coals, snails, a lot of sweets). On other days, not very varied, but quite tasty. There are practically no fish and seafood. Fruits: watermelons, melons (like local, tasty) nectarines and all. Lots of sweets. The beer in the restaurant is disgusting (the pool bar is quite decent). With all inclusive at the beach bar, all drinks are free. Non-alcoholic and alc. Tequila, campari, gin, vodka, brandy, cocktails of all this + beer + tea, coffee + ice cream.
Staff: very polite, friendly. The maids do not strain. (cleaning every day, linen every other day). 2 waitresses at the bar speak Russian, the rest understand just a couple of words. But there are no problems (although our language is at the level of school knowledge ).
There are a lot of Russians (there were 6 years ago - there were practically none), no one considers beach towels, no deposits. Sunbeds free of charge. Occupy at 7 am only need the best seats or if you need 3 sunbeds nearby.
Children: Attention! There is nothing for children to do in the hotel. Only the pool (respectively, if the child is small, under your vigilant control). Playground: 1 swing, one small slide. And that's it. In any Moscow courtyard, the site is 5 times better. Children do not play on it. Mini-club: there are no Russian-speaking animators. Nobody plays with children. There are several tables with pencils and paper. This is the mini club.
In general, if the child is small (under 5 years old), no one will help you. Older - only a pool and a refrigerator with free ice cream.
To sum up: an ideal hotel for those who need a quiet comfortable beach holiday. . During the day, the beach, the sea, the pool. In the evening, a bar, beer and a book in the room. Or, if your goal is to explore the entire island and you will not be staying at the hotel for long.
No entertainment (once there was a clown for children and sometimes cartoons on the big screen in German). Animation is reduced to water aerobics to the music in the pool. 1 billiard table (2 euros per party) and broken tennis table. The beach has a sand-filled volleyball court.
15-20 minutes walk – Kavros village. 10-15 shops (very inexpensive), 15-20 taverns.
(beer 2 euros, cocktails 3-4 euros, hot 5-6 euros), there is one tavern on the beach, with a disco (according to advertising). Souvenirs (standard) are cheaper to buy in the village than in the cities. Sometimes 2 times. Were in Rethymnon and Chania. Very pretty towns. In terms of architecture, nothing outstanding, but the atmosphere is very pleasant. A lot of shops, along the embankments of the tavern, where you can eat seafood (lobsters - 20 euros, octopuses, giant prawns, sea urchin dishes).
From the hotel to the city can be reached in 15 minutes by bus for 2 euros. Without the help of travel agencies.
6 years ago we were in the same village, but in a different hotel (20-30 min walk). Eliros beach. This time we also went there at 9 o'clock in the evening. Very quiet, small hotel. Also very decent (at least the rooms in the bungalows) and cute. The food there was definitely not worse. The playground is 3 times better, the miniclub is very decent. And most importantly - a great sandy beach. Lots of loungers. Close to the village. It is considered a class lower, respectively cheaper.
Crete has one very big plus: the climate. There was not a day in mid-July that you didn’t want to leave the room because of the heat. 30 degrees. Wind from the sea. Very comfortable. For those who do not tolerate heat (small children) it is ideal. Of the minuses - unkemptness. Everything outside the hotel area gives the impression of a Russian countryside.
I also want to say about mobile communications: I bought a SIM card in Euroset for 1600 rubles (I don’t remember the name of the operator). 50 dollars on the account, Estonian number. They took it with them. Outgoing 18 rubles, incoming - free of charge!!! . SMS I do not remember how much, but inexpensive.
Have a good holiday everyone!
