You can swim to a nearby resort, there is good snorkeling, in this hotel you can watch baby sharks and other fish slowly swimming along the coast.
This time we were on full board. The food is varied, the service is good. The prices for alcohol are certainly not the cheapest. $5-10 for a beer/cocktail. You can go to a good spa. 45-100 dollars for the procedure, their choice is varied.
Everyone who writes that this is a vacation for pensioners is mistaken. There are always two jet skis, a boat, a catamaran, wake, windsurfing, etc.
We rested with children 6 years and 2 years and were very satisfied. In rooms from 170 to 195 access to the lagoon. There is no wind. The water is waist-deep and above, depending on the tide. The water is calm and there is no wind. On the other side of the sea with a small wave and a breeze.
Fish are fed daily at 9pm. Many stingrays, small reef sharks, tuna swim up. Interesting to see.
On one side of the island is a huge sandy beach with chest-high water, ideal for swimming, relaxing and sunbathing. In the center of the tropical jungle with beautiful palm trees, dividing the island into 2 parts. On the other side of the island there is a beach for snorkeling, where there is a house reef, although it is dead, there are a lot of fish there. Small sharks splash around the shore, basking in the sun. At first I was afraid of them, but they are completely harmless and always keep their distance from people. The coastline on this side is very short and your houses are 2 meters from the sea. The island also has a beautiful spa, tennis court, gym, diving center. We were settled in room 151 with access to the main beach. The room is cozy, clean and comfortable. Cleaned 2 times a day, changed towels. Service 10 out of 10. The room has a large window and access to the terrace with 2 chairs, which is surrounded by palm trees. The staff is very friendly, everyone greets and smiles, it is clear that people are happy living in the Maldives.
For diving enthusiasts and not only, for example, I had never snorkeled before and did not think that I would like it so much, this island is perfect. House reef with many fish, depth from the waist up to 170 cm, with a total area of approximately 1 km2. The fish are all beautiful, colorful, we saw stingrays, a lot of baby sharks (they are absolutely safe), and a wonderful sea turtle swam to us, with which we made circles).
Nearby is the large Sun Island, which has a free boat ride. It is more popular, it also has nice places like overwater bungalows, big size spa. But we warn you, there are a lot of Chinese and Russians, you will constantly walk around the island and swim among them.
Food - fed smartly, the variety of fruits was amazing, most of the fruits we had not even tried before. Very tasty local papaya. Always 5-6 types of meat, fish, a lot of side dishes. Great desserts with a huge selection. Your table is assigned to you in the restaurant. The only negative in the hotel, perhaps, is the waiter in the restaurant, who will constantly ask you to buy different dinners on the seashore at a high price.
What you need to know when you fly to the Maldives:
Airport - if you have a connecting flight in Dubai, make sure that your luggage is numbered and not lost. This is easy to do: in Moscow, check that all luggage has a transfer tag, and in Dubai, you can check the delivery of luggage from the checkman on the computer. Be prepared to sit in Dubai for a long time, take cookies or other food with you. Do not be afraid of the toilets, everyone is washed there and there is a lot of water on the floor. Necessarily
try local fortified drinks in duty free, they cost 1-2 dollars and are very tasty, refreshing.
Money. You must take at least $ 500 with you and now we will write you why. The cost of the tour does not include tourist services. According to the law of the Maldives on the state. tax and service we were given a check at the end of the holiday for $90, water $50-60, you also probably want to drink a couple of cocktails and buy a local souvenir, it's $100. You need to pay $ 10 for a tip so that they clean up well. Also, you won't be able to resist the tour. One tour costs $80 for two. The remaining $100-140 can be spent on medical care, as you can get poisoned, cut yourself on coral, etc. A romantic dinner for two by the sea costs $240.
Water is the most precious product in the Maldives, it is what people in hotels make money from. 1 bottle of 1.5 liters costs $ 3 plus another tip. The hotel gave per person 0.5 liters per day. Given the local weather, this water was naturally not enough. In total, we spent $50 on water alone. Various sodas, such as Coca-Cola, Pepsi, etc. are very expensive. Alcoholic cocktails start at $12, plus a mandatory tip. Coconut milk costs $2-3.
Tours. You will be offered mainly to watch fish, sharks and turtles. The average price is $25-50 per person. Get ready for the fact that you will not see a whale shark and manta rays the first time. The chance is about 35-40%. My husband went 3 times and never saw a shark or manta rays. In this case, the tour is replaced by cheaper snorkeling, but the money will not be returned to you. But we saw wonderful bright fish and turtles, as well as rays, reef and some deep-seated sharks, octopus, moray eels.
It was the best holiday and we will definitely return to the Maldives and we advise you to visit them at least once. After that, you will not want to go anywhere) And now you can look at our photos at the link below, you can see more photos on our instagram, and we will add a video later.
Explore the underwater treasures of one of the world's leading dive centers. Sip a cocktail on your terrace as you watch the sun dip below the horizon. Or just relax on the white coral sand and soak up the blazing sun.
In short: I see no reason to overpay for a booth in which you just sleep. Because I personally go to the Maldives for the sea, sun and space. Was on Kuredu, Sun, Zitali and others.
This hotel has 1 minus - too picky tourists.
During my stay I visited many times with friends and with my wife and daughters. If something non-standard happened, then it was allowed non-standard. Many people believe that since they are going somewhere, and even paying money for it, then someone, something, should happen to them or should happen according to their expectations. Nu-nu.
As for the hotel, I will try to be objective, I don’t want to say anything bad, but the hotel has its shortcomings. For the first trip to the Maldives, you can safely choose this hotel, but the second time I would not return to it.
By accommodation: we lived in bungalow No. 114 on the right side of the pier, the hotel was completely full, and therefore we are so glad that we did not settle on the other side of the island, although we tried. The bungalows are spacious and very basic, but definitely in need of a refurbishment. Our bungalow had a beautiful patio with a view of the ocean from the veranda. Plus the fact that there is a shower outside is very convenient.
As for the beach, it’s really the best beach from the side of the pier, on the other side of the island the picture is not at all Maldivian, the runway that was built ruined everything, it seems that there is not an ocean, but some kind of channel, the color of the water is dark and everything is dotted with pieces of coral , it’s not clear where to swim... except to swim with a mask. Inside the island, everything is fenced off with some kind of concrete fence, behind which a 3-storey house was built, in which, as I understand it, the attendants live, and there are many other buildings, it’s strange that so much space is allotted for outbuildings, but in general it doesn't spoil the picture.
As for cleaning the room, our rumba didn’t bother much, cleaned it once a day, changed beach towels only on request, small face towels were asked for only on the 5th day of stay, there were no detergents in the room !! ! even elementary as for a 4 * hotel is strange, but we always take our cosmetics with us, we replenished tea / coffee every other time, despite the fact that tips were left every day, in fact, they did not pay attention to these shortcomings, but there are tourists whom this would definitely strain .
In terms of nutrition, everything is ok, everything was enough, the choice is not huge, but everything was delicious, without frills. The service in the restaurant is good, the waiters are all smiling and friendly.
In the evening every day a different animation in the bar near the pier.
As a result, the hotel itself, I would say a solid 3 *, but not 4 *.
All this brightens up the snow-white beach and the ocean, in principle, only because of this, we went to the Maldives.
Therefore, next time I definitely want a more expensive and better hotel and a smaller island.
P. S We went to the neighboring island of San Island, we didn’t really like it, the territory is beautiful, but it feels like it’s Turkey, there are too many people and fuss.
The view from the part of the island to the spit where the sand is washed up did not bother at all, but from the bungalow on this side to the water 10 meters - from the veranda of the bungalow through tropical shady thickets and immediately into the ocean, around the shark, very romantic...
Bought great souvenirs. In the evenings, small folk concerts and performances, everything is quiet and unobtrusive.
When leaving, they paid 600 dollars, they did not deny themselves anything.
I wanted to stay for another 20 days.
Thank you all. . . Still impressed.
