Summer holidays in the Canary Islands
We decided to spend the summer of 2016 in the Canary Islands, because the price tag for housing is very loyal, and there is plenty of color and exoticism, but one ocean is worth something. We planned 4 weeks in four different places - the south of tenerife (Last Americas), the west of tenerife (Los Gigantos), Gran Canaria (Maspolomas), the north of tenerife (Puerto Cruz). All places are completely different in style, climate, image and rhythm of relaxation, but all are beautiful in their own way and everywhere there is something to do and see. The first three are apart hotels, the last one is a hotel on the ocean (I got the 15th floor with a huge corner balcony - the view is extraordinary). All reservations were made through the "island", the price was the lowest. There were no problems with the settlement, everything was as usual - he arrived, gave his last name, received the keys to the room - the categories of rooms corresponded to those chosen. The only incident happened before leaving for Gran Canaria. The manager from the "island" called and says, so they say, and so your reservation on Canaria passed on closed dates and the hotel cannot accept you (Palm Oasis), but like the same chain manager has apartments (almost the same are called only instead of the word Palm is Aptos), they say you think about whether this option suits you. I looked and remembered that when I was planning my vacation I saw these apartments - and this is a completely different story. They cost almost 2 times cheaper and the level is several times lower. I wrote to the manager that this will not work if there is no adequate replacement, I demand a refund and dosvidos that the hotel
I'll find it myself, because finances and experience allow this to be done. After 2 hours, the manager called back and said that they still managed to persuade the original hotel to accept us and they still confirmed the reservation. Everything happened just like that - Palm Oasis welcomed us cordially and the rest was wonderful. But here's someone to thank for this, either a really talented manager who knows how to protect the interests of his client and pull out "dead end" situations, or himself, for whom it would not be difficult for him to orient himself in a day, book another hotel and have free funds for this (since the money is returned to the card within 30 days). Why am I all this, if in my place there was a person traveling on his own for the first time (with little experience) or with a limited amount of funds (well, they say, the hotels are all paid for, the money is only for food and entertainment), then he would simply cornered. It’s dumb to look for something on your own in a day, and even worse - there is no extra money (a week in a hotel is about 500-1000 euros). And here, hallelujah, the client agrees to go instead of a decent, fully paid for by him hotel, to a crappy apartment at half the cost. The question is where would the difference in the cost of these hotels (about 250 euros) go. And who has the conscience to earn and spoil people's expensive holidays in this way? But, I repeat once again, in our case everything went tip-top, since we did not fall for an inadequate replacement, but clearly and unambiguously demanded a refund. After that, the island worked well, as it should be for a decent tourist service. Otherwise, the island is great, we continue to use it, at the moment we have booked a hotel in Palanga, I think that everything will be fine. In general, the main thing guys, on long journeys you need to be prepared for different situations, have a financial "airbag" with you, not allow yourself to hang noodles on your ears - and then the people serving you will understand this, they will treat you with dignity and regularly perform their duties, for which we thank the team "islet".
