Adventures in the Canaries!

A year has passed since the big trip to South America, and she is still bright in our memories. Slightly blue, sometimes seven-colored and infinitely white. Not a drop of memory has faded from those magical days. A year later, the magic returned again.

There are colorful dreams and sweet nights, maybe you will also find, ah-ah banana-coconuts, ah-ah orange paradise... True, it was a tangerine paradise)))) But yes, it was a trip to the Canary Islands! Right during the trip, we already knew that she was one of our best.

As soon as Vizeire announced the opening of a new destination - Tenerife, the next day the tickets were already in hand. To achieve the goal, we docked two Vizeir roundtrips through Budapest. The most interesting thing is that we were the only ones who went to the transfer zone from our Kyiv flight. The queue for the flight was very interesting to consider,

in my life I would not say that these people are now flying to the Canary Islands. Instead of successful businessmen in formal suits, there were completely ordinary people on the flight, and not everyone had at least some features of zealous tourists. As usual, no one sat on the plane with us, at first some lost uncle got hooked, but then the stewardess took him away. It's cool when a full plane and one of the only empty seats goes to your row.

So, in a 5.5 hour flight, we could not only sit, but also lie down. Of course, they were on board in all serious ways, and specifically the 13th and 14th episodes of the last season, until the tablet sat down. For seating near the windows, we paid extra 5 euros for a roundtrip and did not regret it a bit. The direction was new for us and there were very beautiful views outside the windows. The views are certainly not as gorgeous as on approaching Sharm, but worthy nonetheless.

At first, tea for 2 euros seemed very expensive to us, but then it turned out to be our cheapest tea for the next ten days. Vizeira, as always, has a very big respect and respect for the style of the aircraft, the uniforms of the staff, and this was the first of 65 flights in which the pilot talked about what we were flying over, albeit in Hungarian, but still.

There was a moment when the plane changed its corridor a lot, two more cross planes were visible through the window at neighboring echelons. It's good that everyone passed successfully. The captain announced that we were flying over Marrakech, which means we are at the finish line. And the Atlantic Ocean has already spread its surface under us. And so the Canary Islands began. But why hasn't the decline started yet? And here is Tenerife, probably, wow, what a huge, after ten minutes of flying at full speed, the island of Los Palmos disappeared behind. Hmm. . It didn't look like Tenerife,

but nifiga is what a huge one. What is our size then? We still didn't start the descent. At that moment, I felt all the distance between the neighboring islands and realized that it would not be possible to leave Tenerife, it’s good that it is the most interesting. Despite the serenely sunny forecast, we flew in some kind of veil. And in the distance, the peak of the Teide volcano rises, and this is definitely our island, And finally they began to descend. Having flown up to the giant island, the veil receded and, according to the forecast, it was really sunny weather with a very light haze. Landed! Hooray!! ! First step to the Canary Islands! Oh, no, they are also hard, the first breath of Canarian air! AAAA, yeah, we are in the Canary Islands!! ! And this Spanish language, pleasant to the ear, just rolls in the soul like a rainbow. The people are all very kind and friendly, happy to help in all matters. We were told that without a car in the Canary Islands in any way. Well, let's check. Where is our bus? Here he is, on his way

Costa Adeje

Our first stop was in the northern part of the island, in Las Americas, and specifically in the city of Costa Adeje, it somehow flows very strangely one into the other. The owner Yuri was waiting for us with the same radiant smile as on the Airbnb avatar. We lived in a two-story business center, on the minus first floor, in the passage, where two office spaces were converted into rooms. We did not have windows, but there were all the amenities, even about which there was no information in the description. Then it turned out to be not our room and we were moved to an even better one. Maybe, of course, windows and ocean views would be important to someone, but for 25 euros a day it was just a Canarian gift against the background of other prices. We recommend housing to all active tourists, even had its own kitchenette (links at the end of the story). When we talked with the local guide, he asked how much our accommodation cost, having found out the approximate price, it was clear that he did not believe us much,

and then it also turned out that I named the price for two... It was clear that the Spaniard was sincerely happy for us.

And this is how we dreamed we are sitting in an expensive Canarian restaurant, eating delicious paella with semi-dry wine. True, the restaurant turned out to be far from the most expensive, it turns out these are regular prices)))

Toast after toast, near the ocean, everyone is trying to please you. After dinner we went to explore the city. The city had the main sign of a good city, everyone sits and eats in restaurants. And who does not eat, he walks drunk around the city. Since at the exit from the restaurant they poured us a glass of local honey rum on the road to drink a liter of wine, we literally soared over the island. I remember something very funny and funny was discussed, and a similar couple went to the meeting and laughed about something of their own. We met their eyes and at the same time wished each other a great holiday, but here everyone was on the same wavelength.

The embankment stretched from us in both directions for 5 and 6 km, so you could walk along the ocean to your heart's content. It is a pity that the serenity will not last long, because out of 10 days of stay, as former tourists told us, “You will find something to watch for yourself for all ten days. ” And apparently, the relaxation mode will end tomorrow.

Mask Village

In the morning we went to the bus station to find out where we start our route. There are really a lot of places to visit, but until you find out the bus schedule, you don’t plan much. Arriving at the station, we found out that we were starting from the village of Mask, because in 20 minutes our bus would be there. The girls in the windows of the bus stations are the most valuable thing in Tenerife, they know literally all the routes and their connections around the island, just say where you want to get to you right there with a smile of 32, they will explain everything in good English in detail.

Having bought a bono pass, we hit the road! The connecting bus will leave in 50 minutes, and ours is already on the road for about an hour, this moment was a bit annoying, because the next connecting bus will be in 3 hours. But even here the Spaniards did not disappoint. The second bus did not leave until the first one arrived. Satisfied as elephants, we made a transplant. The bus rushed along mountain serpentines, and at such heights that it was more terrible than flying for the first time in an airplane. But the beauty outside the window was incredible, it seemed, well, why is he taking us, if it’s already very beautiful here, but according to the description, it will be even more beautiful further. At some point we arrived at a sunny mountain village.

Amidst the morning silence, the sounds of a guitar could be heard. My first thought was “Machu Picchu! » The place was, of course, far from Peru, but nevertheless it was very similar. Wandering around the neighborhood of a cozy village,

After a tasteless refreshment (it was a rarity to eat in the Canary Islands), we went to the canyon to meet adventures, taking tangerines with us. The locals, seeing that we were going to hike in the canyon in sandals, warned us that you need “mega-sneakers of plus-size dexterity. ” But what kind of sneakers are there - summer is around! However, except for us, almost everyone was running into the canyon in felt boots. We went down the canyon for about three hours mentally sympathizing with those who walked through this warmth in sneakers. The views were enchanting and very diverse, either giant rocks blocking the sunlight, then green mountains covered with palm trees, then emerald-transparent streams, then a striped cat. Wait, where did the cat come from, how did he go so far? However, the cat with a satisfied muzzle rested on the pebbles.

In the passage through the next thickets, we decided to go around them along the neighboring paths.

And now we are already going through different mountains in the hope that they will close. My journey lasted no more than 10 minutes and the path just ended. I can’t understand, well, who makes a path that ends with nothing. Dasha looked at me triumphantly from the opposite mountain. Climbing from mountain to mountain was another challenge.

So, about the views, we even saw free-standing high rocks like in Avatar. The most spectacular is the end of the three-hour descent - the ocean.

Then there are two ways - for those who came by car, a four-hour climb back begins, those who are not tied to the car get on the boat and literally soar for 20 minutes at full speed along the dark turquoise ocean along the mighty cliffs to the city of Los Gigantos to continue their journey.

The last boat leaves at 16:30, keep in mind. Flying through the sea breeze, we were glad that we were without a car.

Having moored in the city around the boat, a bunch of huge fish immediately crowded around, apparently waiting for a tourist to fall completely into the water. You could immediately go further on a voyage to watch whales and dolphins or plunge into a cozy town. We chose the city, because after a tense descent, we still didn’t want to swing on the waves. I liked the motto of these sea trips “100% whales, no whales? back money! ". The city turned out to be really cool due to the fact that it was on the rocks.

The ocean, of course, was just a magical color - dark turquoise, and when a wave rose, its crest was bright turquoise. We called this color Aquafri! Here we even ate delicious Chinese food in a Beijing restaurant. After walking in the city until evening, we went back to our native Costa Adeja. Phew, well, the first day turned out, my legs are buzzing. But a night walk first of all!

We went on to explore our endless promenade. From time to time, blacks tried to put on either watches or glasses, just like in Egypt. But with one small difference, those who held heaps of watches in their hands in a quick patter of what they want to steam offered some kind of chocolate, and sometimes even open marijuana and cocaine. We certainly do not support this, but the curiosity of the price just makes out. It is necessary to ask a black man how much, but somehow damn it is even more stressful than in Thailand it was to ask a girl how much she costs. In Thailand, we did not dare to ask this question. And here it is quite interesting. And as luck would have it, not everyone openly says this word, you won’t bargain with him for chocolate. And then the moment came between the hours, the word “Marie” flashed, I immediately answered “How much? "The Negro immediately began to carry something off topic to us, figuring out what country we are from and how we like it here, I still kept up with the goal" Here's the price ?? ? ".

Our dark-skinned friend, making sure that he had moved away from the crowd with us, put a watch in my hand so that I could study the quality and tell that the boat was 30 euros, two boats were 50 euros. “Ok, here’s about the cocaine? ”I asked and took another watch from him, intensively looking out for their quality, looking at the watch in my hands, the black man told me that a gram is 60 euros, 100 euros for two grams. I thanked him for the info, putting the watch back into his hands. Our friend expected to continue, but I said that if I thought of it, then I remembered it. And then I think, maybe it was a bad idea to tell our dark salesman that I remembered him... But then, like a stone, he dumped himself, satisfying his curiosity. I actually wondered if he actually sold those watches or not.

Jungle Park

On the second day, we took a free bus to the Jungle Park Tropical Zoo to see different interesting things. The system is simple, you pay for entry - all performances are free,

as many times as you want. First there was a performance with some birds. At the show, exotic birds were hand-fed, put on their shoulders and on their heads. The second Show was with fur seals. It was fun and relaxed to watch this show with cool elements of humor. An interesting moment was when a non-dummy “Lucky girl” was called from the audience to stroke the cat, who, before she was called, was sitting in one of the first rows herself, and as soon as she stroked, she ran to sit in the back rows with her mother.

For only 15 euros, you could take a picture of a cat kissing you, as it was written on the banner and a carved cat kissing a carved girl. If you successfully stand up and cover the cardboard girl with yourself, it will turn out that the cat kisses you directly from the banner and moreover for free. On the third show, birds of prey hovered over everyone's heads, taking to the skies and returning.

The truth is written

that the birds are returning, not always in time for the end of the program. Between and after the show we walked among the jungle of this park. In the South of the island there is a competitor - Loro Park, which is very advertised. I would not say that the jungle park is much worse. The highlight of the park was the presence of a bob-sled. 4 euros and I'm flying through space at breakneck speed. The announcer shouts something into the microphone, but I don't care, I'm fine. After flying the track, emotions just went wild. We spent about half a day in the park.

Since there was still the second half of the day left, we went swimming in the ocean. By all objective calculations, this was literally the only opportunity on this trip. In the north of the island, where you cannot swim, there is a storm or rocks and very beautiful water. Where you can swim, the horizons are closed by breakwaters and the water surface of the usual color is not attractive in any way.

We trod on the gray volcanic sand into the water, and it is also a cool pancake. But no, this is the ocean, it should be noted. We climbed for half an hour, and then, as I noted, stepping on a sea urchin with my bare foot, I marked it to the fullest. Caught, fortunately, only two spikes. Dasha was able to get one right away, and the second only felt painful and went very deep into her finger. Feeling like the sting of a bee, throbbing pain radiated from the finger. It was a 20-minute drive to the hotel, after limping to the hotel, I began to realize the full depth of the ass I got into. To climb the volcano, you had to get permission for a certain time, the queue for one month in advance, our time is tomorrow morning. Like it or not, in 20 hours I have to be at the top, otherwise the chance is lost. The needle was not even visible, but the pain is crocodile if you step on it. On the Internet, I read that all the needles of the hedgehog are still not available, the main thing is to do so

so that they do not create pain and then they will resolve in two months. The second option, more reliable, was to go to the hospital for two days under insurance. We went the third way - we wielded improvised means. At first, Dasha picked there with toothpicks, but this did not work. After Dasha fainted several times, I decided to perform the operation myself with a sharp scabbard. From the knives in the room there was some kind of small machete, it seemed that with the wrong movement, the toe would fly away like a feather. Having cut his finger, he was able to feel the needle with a knife, when he touched the needle, a ceramic rattle was heard. All the time, Nurse Dasha had to blot the blood (and faint). The operation lasted an hour, and I was no longer sure that such blood loss was normal. At one point, the stabbing pain subsided considerably. They didn’t seem to get the needle, but it doesn’t seem to create such problems now.

By the way, we are writing this post together, me and the needle)))) I could not stand the second hour of these self-examinations. In general, he marked himself in the Atlantic Ocean so that he remembered forever. After resting, we went for a traditional night walk along the embankment. By the way, the food was often tasteless, but in the restaurant at our hotel it was always tasty and sincere. On this day, we wandered quite far, reached some immense palace, it turned out to be a hard rock hotel.

In terms of its scope of construction, it clearly matched all the hotels of the island. By the way, there were so few young people in November that basically our vacation was held among grandparents over 70. But it is very convenient that there were no queues anywhere.

Teide Volcano

It was a very long-awaited day, because all I knew about tourism in the Canary Islands was only a volcano. From Costa Adeje, a round-trip bus travels once a day.

The ticket does not work on such a bus and it costs 29 euros for two in both directions. Buses in Tenerife are mega-comfortable and modern, it is a pleasure to ride in them. Having passed the village of Vilaflora, we began to climb the bus to the mountains. The nature of the island has changed dramatically, there were pine groves along the roads, and endless views of the ocean and coastal cities opened from the roads. Soon the bus made a 15-minute stop. The height was about 2000 meters, and the landscapes here were completely different. Stone deserts of dark colors, overhanging lifeless rocks looked menacing and morally crushed. If prehistoric monsters existed, then this was clearly their area. The temperature here felt like 10 degrees, which was 15 degrees less than the Canary temperature already familiar to us. We boarded the bus and went to the cable car. To the red line

after which mountain sickness could seize, literally a hundred or two meters remained. Of course, I knew that this was inevitable for me and immediately drank the right pill.

In total, we stood in line for the cable car for no more than 40 minutes. At the same time, we had a bite of local pies. The ascent lasted about 8 minutes, and in some places the trailer went down so abruptly that everyone screamed a little. And then the doors open, we are at an altitude of 3500, then there are two ways, those who have permission go to the top of the volcano, the rest can take a walk on the observation platforms. We, as advanced tourists, belonged to the first group, for which special thanks to Lena Shedina. Up it was necessary to climb some 150 meters above sea level, but along the paths. At first, there was adrenaline and the rarefaction of the air was not felt so strongly, but after 5 minutes there was a heavy shortness of breath and pulsating patterns floated in the eyes.

For about an hour we slowly got up, taking a lot of respite until the body returns to normal. From the crater of the volcano it was clear that it was smoking a little. The first question was “Is it supposed to be like this at all? ". According to statistics, the Teide volcano erupts about once every 110 years, the last time it erupted in 1909... The closer to the crater, the more sulfuric fumes. When only a few tens of meters remained to the crater, a new wave of adrenaline rolled up and mountain sickness receded. The last steps literally ran through and here we are at the top in the sulfur clouds.

On the one hand, the ocean is visible, on the other, liquid clouds floated under us, above us and through us. Well, this is our first volcano we climbed to the top. 3718 meters.

By the way, the body quickly adapted to the height, mountain sickness receded.

Having descended back to the fork, we went for a walk along the observation decks. From the sources of sulfuric smoke it warmed with warmth, around a pile of snow and an ominous color and shape of a rocky area.

Let's just say that the volcano is far from the most beautiful thing that can be seen in the Canary Islands, in terms of beauty it is in fifth place among the places visited in Tenerife, but the very fact of climbing the volcano adds +1000 to your tourist skill and, accordingly, everyone needs to climb) Returning back to the evening 24 degrees, we fixed the impression of the ascent with delicious ice cream. Fortunately, the needle in the leg did not interfere with the rise, and in sneakers it is easier with it. Yeah, the rest is intense, only the third day, and how much has already been. Since we alternated activities by day, tomorrow we will have a more relaxing, but no less active holiday.

Siam Park

I once read something about him and remember,

that he took note of himself as a mast to visit, and for good reason. At the entrance, we immediately bought twin tickets for a one-time visit to the water park and loro park, which is located in the north of the island. Such a ticket gives a general discount and at the summer rate costs 59 euros per person. After entering the territory, everything looked beautiful to say the least, although the word beautiful does not even describe anything. We seemed to have returned to Thailand, to those native jungles and tropics. In fact, the views were only a little better than in our Thai Woodlands hotel, but how mesmerizing it is. First, I had to overcome the desire to take pictures everywhere, since the main thing here was to swim everywhere, and then everything else. The area is simply enormous.

At first, we swept once on hills of the usual level, and then we went to see some of the interesting slides here. The first slide was called harmlessly "Volcano",

we flew out of the tube into a giant parabolic wall. On the gained inertia, we rushed along the vertical wall just up at a very high speed, a giant formidable dragon looked up the hill. When we were at the peak of the height, it became clear why it was necessary to hold on tight, the three tourists sitting next to me had just a frozen fear on their faces before falling down. Inertia was enough to fly several times in a parabola to each of the tops, after which we were sucked into the next pipe by a stream of water, and we rushed further.

There are a lot of slides in the water park, and if there were queues, we would not have time to visit each one. The most interesting for me was the slide in front, its height is from a ten-story building and it is almost vertical and open, ending with a transparent pipe passing through the pool with the living. sharks.

Then we went on a trip on circles along the river. During the trip, the sun was hidden behind the clouds and it was a little chilly.

But the beauty was still that, around the real masterpieces of nature. After 25 minutes of swimming there was a fork in the finish line or a more active continuation. Of course, despite the coolness, we swam to continue. In some places, the current was slow and you had to row with your hands, but when the descents and rapids began, it was fun. At the end, we swam through the same pool with sharks, only perpendicular to a high slide, that is, we swam in a large glass tunnel, and sharks swam around on the other side of the glass, and quite toothy. From time to time people from that crazy hill flew overhead. As soon as we got to the end, the sun came out. We went to the territory, which was called "Sea". There was a paradise

but the water in the fresh sea was cool, everyone was lazily sunbathing on sunbeds, there were a couple of people in the water. But then a roar is heard from the depths and everyone, as if on a signal, rushed into this warm water. Just a tsunami rushed towards a hundred people, which swallowed everyone, and the most agile managed to swim to the top. The sea began to storm, I also ran into the water, again dull thunder and another wave rushes, I meet her. Up close, it was even bigger and more spectacular. Dasha was sitting on a sunbed and after 5 minutes she also gave up and ran into the cool sea. During these waves, the temperature of the water is generally not noticed. Now there was almost no one on the sunbeds, everyone was in the water. No wonder this water park has a world record for the highest artificial waves.

When we found out that the water park will close at 17:00, we were very upset, 7 hours flew by. On the Internet, I looked at my guesses and yes, yes,

this water park is considered the best in the world and it really is! In November, there were few people, in the morning the maximum queue was 16 people on a hill in which they sit 4 each, that is, within 5 minutes and then rarely. There were practically no people on the slides during the day. But I don’t envy those who rest here at the peak of the season, because they saw the marks “1 hour before the descent”, that is, if you stand in line at this place, you will go down in an hour. The water park is a must for everyone!

In the evening we went for a walk to the other side of the embankment, according to the description there was some very prestigious area. At that moment, when tailcoats on the waiters became more expensive than our air tickets, we realized that we had reached this area. When I went to one of the restaurants to use the toilet, I feel like I visited the Louvre. There was a lot of pathos in that area, there weren’t even blacks with watches) The route of evening walks was most often simple,

you go in one direction to the end of your strength, and then you return by bus. The advantage of the Las Americas area is that it is beautiful everywhere you go. The next day was the last on the southern part of the island, for which we had a new entertainment in store for us.

Geocaching

The first part of the day we wandered through the streets, which we had not yet been, had lunch and, on the recommendation of LeСype, downloaded the Geocaching application to the tablet. The map of Las Americas was immediately cached for offline mode, and a lot of marks appeared on the map where other geocachers had left their treasure. Moreover, the nearest treasure on the map turned out to be 150 meters from our hostel. Gorgeous! We went to the breakwater and intensively searched in the stones, but the treasure turned out to be in a box with a fire extinguisher, in this treasure there was just a notepad to note that you found it. But the treasure was guarded by a diarrheal curse, so

that you discover interesting places in the city that you would never have visited, thanks to the game we have discovered a bunch of beautiful places in Las Americas. When the tablet sat down, we were already completely on the outskirts. Thus ended our journey through the southern part of Tenerife, but as they say here: “If you were only in the south, then consider that you have not seen the Canaries! » In the morning, after saying goodbye to the owner Yuri, who kindly dropped us off at the bus station, we went to the very north.
