Food - this hotel simply does not know how to cook. Everything is very diverse, but absolutely tasteless. During the week, would-be chefs scoffed at the Italian, then over the Mexican, then over the local cuisine. Only fresh fruit saved the situation - fortunately, it is difficult to spoil them. The service in the restaurant is, however, very decent. If for someone this is more important than the quality of the food itself, then I recommend it.
Location - we knew in advance that it was not close to the beach and were mentally and physically ready for this. Surprise was the surroundings - halfway (10 minutes) walk along the road, breathe the exhaust of passing cars, on the one hand you have a busy construction site with noise and dust, on the other - a wasteland with a dump in the middle. The beauty! This is exactly how the Canaries imagined: ) The promised shuttle to the beach is a semi-mythical creature. We haven't seen him in a week.
Room - large, stupid, uncomfortable. Empty white walls, tiled floor. The beds are on wheels and keep moving around. The bathtub is shabby and is tinted with a brush in some places in the Soviet way. In short, "poor, but clean. " There is no iron in the room. The only way to iron your clothes is to take them to the laundry (5-7 euros per item).
Entertainment - no animation, no playground, almost all the simulators in the gym are broken. There is 1 tennis table, a squash room, a children's room.
In the evenings there were thin shows. amateur performances.
The staff is mostly indifferent and somewhat lethargic (the impression is that they are paid little and they do not particularly hold on to this work). The exception is the managers and waiters in the restaurant. Apparently, they are trying to compensate for the lack of good chefs. At the reception, given the large number of our vacationers, at least one Russian-speaking person would not hurt.
Here, in a nutshell, are the reasons why I would not recommend Melia Jardines del Teide in Tenerife to anyone. Spoil your whole impression of this wonderful island.
Rooms are about 40 meters, two large beds (each can sleep together), TV, refrigerator, air conditioning, coffee table, three bedside tables (one large), a sofa and an armchair. All furniture is new and looks very nice. The bathroom has a bathtub, a bidet, two sinks, a large mirror, a hair dryer, gels, shampoos and make-up remover wipes. TV programs only in English and German. The maids every day (albeit for a small tip, or maybe without them, but I always left) changed linen, towels, cleaned very carefully and twirled swans, then frogs, then some pigs from the towels. The room does not have balconies but rather decent sized terraces with tables and chairs overlooking the ocean.
Bungalow-type rooms - each with access to the street, not to the building.
A hotel with a large green flowering area, two swimming pools - a large regular one and a smaller heated one. In the heated room, the temperature is about 25 degrees. Several terraces for sunbathing. Several bars, billiards, all sorts of board games, animation. Shows every evening. Russians are only one of our group (10 people), the rest are Germans, British and Spaniards from the mainland.
There are few people. The architecture is very pleasant - bridges, ladders, waterfalls, flowers, etc.
FOOD!!!! ! All inclusive. The impression is indelible, although I treat food without much emotion. Despite the all inclusive (where the food is usually worse than half board or breakfast only), the tables are absolutely unimaginable. A huge variety of seafood (shrimps, mussels, lobsters, etc. ), cheeses, desserts, vegetables and fruits (plums, peaches, pineapples, melons, watermelons, strawberries), hot and cold dishes, there was a separate national table.
For breakfast - plus, be sure to scrambled eggs, omelettes, pancakes. Drinking without restrictions ANY, everything that the soul asks for. Food from seven in the morning to one in the morning (breakfast, lunch, dinner + snacks in bars). I’ll make a reservation right away, I traveled a lot in my life, but I came across such a buffet only once in Egypt, and nowhere else (by the way, never in vaunted Turkey, even in super-hotels! ) The hotel is 5-7 minutes away from the shopping street, where there are shops and supermarkets, although I didn’t bother walking to the hotel from both Torviscas Playa and Tenerife Sol (that is, quite far - but I didn’t feel the distances), despite the fact that in Moscow I I don't walk at all and I don't like to walk.
Spa center 5 minutes walk.
The only negative (although it’s like someone) is to go to the ocean for about 15 minutes slowly (back, by the way, is not so difficult, albeit uphill). BUT at the same time, the bus runs back and forth, so getting to the beach and back, if you are too lazy to go, is not a problem.
The beach is one of the best - Duke (where Baia del Duke).
I don’t know what else to write, but the impressions are the MOST good, for everyone who was with me, too. There will be questions, write - vikez@mail. ru, I will answer everything.
Highly recommend this hotel; in Tenerife, after talking with people from the group who lived in other hotels, I will not go to any more. Only Baia del Duc turned out to be the same (according to people's impressions), the rest are much worse. Happy holidays everyone!! !
