In the town of El Medano itself there are many small bars, cafes and restaurants, shops.
Not far from this town is a dilapidated cone of the long dormant volcano Montañ a Roja, which is translated from Spanish as “Red Mountain”. Here is another unique La Tejita beach. Situated under the cliffs of Montañ a Roja, this beach is more sheltered from the winds than El Medano.
I had a room "401" on the 4th floor with a balcony overlooking the street, the beach and partly the ocean. Breakfast is good: coffee machine with different types of coffee, tea, juices from the machine. From baking buns, croissants, there were still some pastries, bread, bun.
Lots of vegetables and preserves, yoghurts (6 types), fruits, fresh bananas, apples. oranges, tangerines) and canned, for hot: either scrambled eggs or scrambled eggs, sausages, always pancakes, sometimes fried mushrooms, fried beans, baked tomatoes, fried bacon. Three types of cheese, several types of boiled and smoked sausage. Dinner without drinks, but the food is amazing. Three types of meat, beef, chicken, rabbit or lamb. Every day the fish is fried or deep-fried. French fries or cooked in Canary style, vegetables, eggplant and many salads, olives, marinades. For dinner, 4 types of ice cream, cakes.
In the hotel: everything is clean, daily cleaning, the staff is attentive, friendly.
The pool is small.
If you leave the hotel and go to the right there will be a bus stop. There are 3 buses: 116.470, 483.
On the 116 bus for 4.70 euros, you can get to the capital of the island, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, on a preferential card "Bono Bus", without a card - 7 euros one way.
You can buy a card if you go from the taxi rank (located right behind the square near the hotel) up the street, at the kiosk, which will be located on the right along the way, at the "Bono Bus" sign.
It's easy to get to the Jungle Park on your own.
Drive to Los Cristianos and take the free bus to the park. On the square near the hotel there is an information office, there in the brochures the schedule of free buses.
Near the small village of San Isidra, there are much more shops.
If you go to the volcano yourself, then you will get to Las Americas, and there is bus 342 to the Teide volcano. From the final stop in Las Americas, the bus leaves at 9:15. On the way back, you will be picked up at 15:40 at the stop at the funicular or at 16:00 at the stop at the Parador Hotel.
AIRPORT "Tenerife Sur". Not small. There are quite enough shops to pass the time before departure. There is also a traditional duty free shop, there is also a shop with Canarian products.
And who wants to celebrate - half an hour by taxi (it's not expensive) and you're in Playa de Las Americas. There's a festival around the clock!
We liked the hotel. The staff is polite, everything is clean - decent. The decor in the room and the food in the hotel, of course, correspond to three stars, but what a wonderful view it was from the balcony of our room! Being there, there was a feeling of traveling on the deck of a ship, and the constant sounds of the surf caused a state of peace and tranquility.
The hotel is located on a large beach. There is a good wave and clean volcanic sand. Near the hotel there is a windsurfing school, and in the bay itself there are two schools with the necessary equipment for rent. If you do not take into account the elderly Germans and the British, who are everywhere on the island, then El Medano can be called a party place for athletes: in the morning and afternoon, windsurfing - kitesurfing and bars in the evening.
For two days we rented a car and drove around almost the entire island. Such beauty! Lots of impressions.
