My opinion - if you go far (Cairo, Israel), it is probably better from the company. Everything local - they will offer both on the beach and in the city, and then how to bargain. In general, all the tales about insurance, which works only for a specific tour operator, about questionnaires that must be filled out - garbage. And so the bus that carries to the coral beach was late. The bus runs like clockwork - 2 minutes late - you can only see it from behind. You need to sign up for the beach the day before, as well as for evening excursions, at the reception. In the same morning, take coupons for lunch. And maybe take beach towels with you. We had first on the beach took towels on the cards, and then they said to take with us from the hotel.
Thus, on the first day we got to the sandy beach, in a closed bay. In short - garbage, except for children. Knee-deep water and sand. Food at the beach restaurant on the "3" with a minus. We didn't go there anymore. The second beach with a coral reef, a renovated pier on stilts and a restaurant with food is already at “4” with a minus. The bus ride takes 6 minutes.

In the evening, the bus takes you to the city for 2 hours. You can do it yourself, by bus or taxi. You can get there by minibus for 10 pounds, a taxi 1-1.5 dollars or at the rate (18).
The sellers are clingy, and the prices are exorbitant. Do not rush to buy, chat with those who arrived earlier, take a closer look, and then bargain.
Alcohol is local - a gin and tonic cocktail and you can try beer. Everything else is bullshit. But this is my opinion. I took with me in my luggage. . .
I recommend taking with you, in addition to the first aid kit, wet and dry wipes, 10-20 bags of “T-shirts”, you can take a couple of small sealed vessels. Masks and snorkels can be purchased here. Definitely coral slippers. Fins - only if you dive, the water holds perfectly, you don't drown, even if you don't move at all.
