Rest in Grand Hotel Sharm 5* (Grand Hotel Sharm 5*)

I am writing directly from the beach of the hotel from under the palm tree literally.

Arrived on 22.12. 2015 and I'm flying home tomorrow.

The hotel is closed for 2/3 because there are no more than 10-15% of tourists occupied.

There is only one main restaurant and three bars. The rest of the Restaurants are closed both inside and outside the hotel.

The variety of food is great no matter what. And grilled mackerel, and meat, and kebabs in the form of cutlets, and chicken are almost always for dinner.
Sweets are the same, but only up to 10 types.
There are few fruits, there are 'failures' for 2 days, but then the fruits return. Dates, oranges, guafa, grapefruit.

Pleasantly surprised by the presence of always 2 different types of thin soup for lunch and dinner. Well, the Arabs do not have this tradition of eating soup - they do not understand this.

Quite surprised by the number of vegetable dishes and their quality. Many kinds of cooked eggplant and sweet peppers, cabbage, broccoli in different ways.
On the way to the Old Town, several rare establishments are open, prices are nowhere lower. Hookah is offered for $1 unlimited at Il Mercato. The most expensive one I smoked was $2. Hookah inside the hotel is a nightmare. I was redone twice and still smoking is disgusting, my head hurts in the morning.

There are two best Farez seafood restaurants in Sharm - one in Il Mercato, 10 minutes walk from the hotel, and one in the Old Town of Sharm.

Mango at $4/kg. Fresh mango, melon, pomegranate 10 pounds each (rate $ 1 = 8 pounds).

It is safe on the streets, only hungry cats pester and the Egyptians, hoping for the return of Russian tourists, persuade at least something to buy from the leftovers. Prices for souvenirs fell by an average of 3 times.

Tours to Cairo, Luxor, Israel, Jordan are not offered, because they cannot collect even one bus for those who wish. So few tourists.

90% of hotels are generally closed, and the staff sits at home. And this is during the hottest season!
But the dream of Europeans and all people who do not tolerate rudeness and aggression, cigarette smoke and widespread obscenities, even with women and children, has come true - now there is at least one resort without Russian tourists!
But there are Ukrainian ones, but they do not at all reach their Slavic brothers.

Ukrainian planes arrive 95% full of people. Many of them are on last-minute trips, which becomes clear looking at their clothes, the number of plates of food they are raking on the all-inclusive system, the volume of alcohol they drink in the evening in bars for free, the booze and neighing at night on the balconies, despite the sleeping neighbors and open 24 hours bar.

But, they do not at all reach Russian tourists in terms of the scale of the 'festivities'.

Speaking of alcohol.
The arriving tourist has the opportunity to return to Duty Free even the next day after arriving in Sharm. Limitation - 3 bottles. heavy alcohol per passport.

Take your passport, money and take a taxi for $2 one way to Spets.
Duty Free shop in Naama Bay or $5 one way to the airport. At the airport, you will be politely rude, starting suddenly calling someone and talking endlessly with someone on the phone, seeing that you have decided to buy alcohol in a Muslim country. For example, I could not stand it and just left without waiting for the end of the conversation of the only seller in the store. He expected this.

Their country, their traditions. Do not respect their traditions - wait for the return. We would like to learn.

In Naama Bay, I bought everything I wanted without delay. Even dry cigars.

Yesterday a Comrade who lives here for a long time rented a car and we went to the monastery of St. Catherine and Dahab.
There are many checkpoints along the road with armed submachine gunners and grenade launchers. Every time passport control and interviews, but all polite and cheerful.

I met two Americans - they ate calmly and walked around Dahab. I realized that even if they walk so freely, then everyone else is all the more safe.
After all, not a single tourist has been offended here in recent years, except for a Boeing blown up by non-Egyptians.

Due to the small number of tourists, it is very very boring here. The infrastructure is down.
If you are not an athlete and go for tourist experiences, then you will not get anything except good food and mango fresh juices.

Ideal conditions to drink alcohol, overeat and sleep around the clock.
