We returned from the Grand Plaza on May 7.2008. We had a standard room in building 4. Pros: nice green area and pleasant style of the hotel. The beach is sandy and cozy. We looked into the neighboring Radisson and Magic Life - there are VERY bad beaches, especially compared to ours. The room is big, but the tiles on the floor are like in a shed, the toilet is also terrible, but the hair dryer is good. The balcony is not small, with wicker chairs, but uncomfortable. There are three buffet restaurants. It's nice that no one checks how many times you had dinner or lunch. Come freely to any restaurant. The food is monotonous, but mostly of high quality, we had enough. It is impossible to drink their wines, juices-jupis are generally a nightmare, but this is the case in all five-star hotels of an average level.
More cons! The first is the first impression. Arrived - not impressed. I didn't feel the level, I guess. At the reception in front of us, they cursed the guide - an Italian, then impolitely grunted something to us, and it was already almost one in the morning, we were tired, because the plane was delayed for an hour. Anyway.
By the way, I remembered "plus"! The staff (ordinary workers) are friendly and clearly trained to give way, smile, greet and lower their eyes when meeting with guests, and not stare at half-naked women. It was noticeable and pleasant.

I will continue. We went into the room, did not admire, again. (! I found someone else's black hair of previous guests on the bed, on the floor, in the bathroom, on the towel! ) It was hot, but there was no water in the room. There is no minibar in the room. I went to look for water, bought it at a bar, where I was brazenly deceived for a dollar, but I realized that there was no way out, unpleasant, but okay. THE SUITCASE BROUGHT AT 3 AM! My husband was already looking, and I called the reception. We want to sleep!
The first day was crumpled because we didn't get enough sleep. Frustrated due to a storm at sea. We have not seen such waves and such a strong wind for the 5 previous visits to Egypt! The guide said that the sea here is bad, strong current, it is almost impossible to swim! Of course they are upset! In the evening we wanted to go to bed early to sleep. And then at 21.30 they turned on the music - a disco for children - on the street under our windows! The roar is terrible! We closed the balcony - the walls hummed! Well, we think they will turn it off until 23.00, we'll be patient. NO! Until half past one 10-15 people sang karaoke! But the sound is not average, but such that you can hear it in neighboring hotels, like in discos! How did we get on! In the morning I tried to change the room, but it turned out that the hotel was full. The rooms were in building 6, but it's bad there. I do not advise building 6 - gloomy and very far from the sea.
Every day until 24.00 and later the music was screaming! Nothing helped - no requests to the reception, no conversation with the manager. So they endured! SLEEPING WAS IMPOSSIBLE! VERY LOUD! VERY! I can only say that worthy people will not yell karaoke at night when 3 large corps of people want to sleep! And they won’t turn on the music... But these are worthy...
Animation mainly for Italians. Near the pool by the sea there is excellent animation for Italians, in the evening in the amphitheater - for Italians and their children. For Russian speakers, Poles and others - on the street under the windows of three large buildings.
The hotel administration should have seen without our complaints how many people are dancing and singing after half past ten, or before eleven - no more than 15-20 people! From the whole hotel! It means that others want to either sleep, or watch TV, or read! You can't hear the TV when the balcony is closed! HOOMING WALLS! Mad house!

But even during the day there is no escape from the screaming music! Can you read at the disco? I watched people and wondered how they lie, read, talk and listen to a disco? The husband said: "They endure! " We went to the sea, where it was almost quiet and did not return before 6 pm.
I actually like to sit on the balcony on vacation, but it wasn’t there! The reception building is located in the center of the hotel. Our balcony, like all the others from buildings 4 and 5, faced the main entrance. Every day and night, buses drive up and stand with their engines running. There was a smell of burning in the room, you can even hear it in the toilet. And who was settled in the extreme numbers near the road, so these buses ran past them! And the pool, where this terrible music is near our buildings, 5 meters from the road and the bus parking lot!
And the volleyball court turned out to be near the entrance to the hotel, behind the workers' dormitory, we discovered it on the penultimate day. The husband was upset because likes to play volleyball. Why do you need to go to a distant nook, by the way, unsympathetic, in order to at least see if they are playing there today or not. Those. you have to drag yourself from the beach there, and even in vain! Wonders! Volleyball is always on the beach, we are used to it, but they are not like that!
I will add a minus to the hotel - the location in an area where there is a strong undercurrent and there are often waves. We have been to Savoy, Intercontinental and Sheraton. The sea is completely different. In other areas, the corals are better, and the fish are 10 times more, and there is no current and wind!
IT IS BETTER NOT TO SWIM WITHOUT FINS! DANGEROUSLY! WE HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS FOR OURSELVES! I was almost swept away, and I floundered for a long time and barely swam, my husband watched me intensely and wanted to save me, but I still swam out and didn’t go to sea anymore. Scared, honestly.

We went on an excursion to the coral islands to swim, since it was impossible near the hotel. There is little to swim. In general, you can not count on a tour, it is better to choose a hotel in a good area - this is our conclusion. We chose the hotel late, so we took what was. Let's be smarter next time! And all excursions here are more expensive than in other areas of the coast because of the transfer, because. the hotel is far from Naama Bay and from the port.
We didn't rest the way we wanted and got used to. We were in Egypt for the 6th time. I think that the hotel is suitable for those who are with children, and who will buy a ticket to rooms with sea views, this is in buildings 1.2 and 3 - it is quiet there, it is 10 USD more expensive. per day per person (so they said at the reception). On the other hand, in Hurghada there are no corals, such as in Sharm, and nothing, people are resting. And in hotels on the 2nd and 3rd lines of the sea there is no sea at all - and they also go.
We didn't get as much rest as we expected! If you have seen the best, then this hotel is no longer suitable for you! If you have been in good hotels, think carefully whether it is worth going here. If you are going to Egypt for the first time, you can go. Of all the neighboring hotels - ours was the best, Laguna Vista also looked very solid, and there, probably, a higher level than in the Grand Plaza.
Yes! Opposite the hotels there is a shopping center, we didn’t even go to Naama, everything is the same here, only in small quantities. Also, there is no internet in the hotel. The supermarket has an internet cafe. To Naama Bay, by the way, - 25 dollars for a taxi! Guides organize trips on their own for 5 c. u. from a person.
First time writing a review! Because no one cares about tourists! They earn money on us, there are many of us, and we are "like machines" for them! Let's help each other! I really appreciated the feedback, so I decided to write!
I wish you always a good rest and good people around! Good luck!
