Rested in this hotel from 18 to 25 December. In Egypt for the 8th time. I have been in this hotel 3 years ago. The ticket this time was cheap - $264/person. HB and at first we thought that this was a special offer from the operator (we traveled through TUI), but upon arrival it became clear that at the moment this hotel is not worth more.
Hotel. The rooms are large, spacious, most with balconies. Everything worked for us. There is a refrigerator - small, but cools well. Yes, the furniture is old, but you should not expect anything more from a three-ruble note. Beds are good. The bed linen is old, the sheets are translucent (it can be seen from old age). If you don't have hot water, check if the boiler is on (the onoff button must be pressed). Cleaned every day, towels changed. By the way, the towels are mostly very old, thin, without terry cloth (to be honest, I have never seen such a thing anywhere else). There are no complaints about the staff. In general, they try. The manager kept walking around asking if everything was ok. When our shower hose broke, they immediately came and fixed it.
The hotel is located very well. Nearby is Il Mercato (a street with European shops and cafes), a little further is the 1001 Nights complex (Alf Leila va Leila), about 30 minutes walk to the market in the Old Town. or a taxi for 10 pounds ($1.6). There are many shops and food markets around where you can buy water, juices, etc. (there is a small shop in the building of the hotel itself). There is a volute exchange in the market in several places, there is a bank near the hotel (before reaching Il Mercato), but it does not work in the evening. Even in Il Mercato (somewhere in the middle of the street) there are several ATMs that change cash dollars for pounds.

In Sharm, the atmosphere was calm. There are very few people (mostly Russian-speaking), which affected prices - much cheaper.
Nutrition. The food has changed the most in the hotel. I have never seen such a poor selection. If you are not a picky person, then you certainly will not starve. For dinner, usually meat was chicken and fish in batter. It is given in portions in several pieces, but you can approach it several times. There were few vegetables, there were no tomatoes at all. We tried the cream soup once and loved it. Everyone was allowed to take water from the cooler at dinner, even those who had HB (breakfast-dinner). This is a plus. There were no delicious pastries for breakfast (there were rolls, but they were ordinary). Fruit salad was only 1 time. There was no meat at all in the sausage, we never guessed what it was made of.
Beach. The old beach, which was located on the territory of the Royal Paradise Hotel, no longer exists near Laperla. Too bad, that's a big downside. Instead, there are 2 beaches: free Marhaba and paid - El Fanar. There is a bus from the hotel (first it delivers to El Fanar, then goes to Marhaba) Here is its schedule: from the hotel 9:00.12:30.14:30. Return: 9:10.12:45.14:45.17:00. Marhaba beach is located in the Old City near the market. It looks more like a small lake, because. surrounded by land on all sides, the open sea is not visible from the beach. The bottom is sandy, there are no corals and fish. You can swim only near the shore, because. further goes a motorboat with a banana. It's a long walk to the hotel, but you can take a taxi for 10 pounds. Although if you are not a fan of swimming and your goal is to sunbathe, then this beach will suit you more than El Fanar, because. there is more space on it and the sunbeds do not stand close to each other.
El Fanar Beach costs 10 pounds ($ 1.6) (a ticket is bought at the hotel reception).

The advantages of this beach: a large area for swimming, there are corals and a lot of fish (beautiful corals on the left side of the wooden pontoon of the neighboring beach), almost always protected from the wind by high rocks, located in the bay - it rarely storms.
Cons: the beach is very cramped, probably divided between 10 hotels. The sunbeds are close together, resembling one large bed. The beds cannot be moved. No shower, toilet, they say there is somewhere upstairs for 2 pounds. Even if you have all inclusive, they won't give you anything for free on the beach.
In conclusion, I will say. You can go to this hotel if you are constrained by finances and you were offered a cheap tour and you do not have high expectations from the hotel.
Tours. We went to Jerusalem for 1 day. The tour was taken in an agency from Gena and Cheburashka (I read a lot of good reviews about them). They are in the next block between the Falcon and Mexicana hotels. In Jerusalem, especially in the Old City, be careful - it is very easy to fall behind the group and get lost. Some people lag behind the group on purpose, so the guides do not take the lost ones seriously. We have 2 people lost at the very end, after the Wailing Wall. As other guides told us later, they were looking for us, but they never found us. We left without them. I don't even know how they got back.
