We were in this hotel in April 2016, before the May holidays. Vacationing with my mom. Of course, the season, due to the ban on flights, is very peculiar. You can call it empty, or you can call it exclusive, how to look. It is clear that business is in a difficult situation and it should not be expected that the provision of services will be in the same volume. Instead, there are free beaches and the absence of queues and crowds. We must pay tribute, in general, Coral Beach Montazah is holding up perfectly during the crisis, the hotel has life and the range of services provided fully corresponds to the declared level of service. So if you are looking for a budget vacation option, with a beautiful sea and acceptable living conditions, take a look at this hotel. Who is looking for pathos, chic, luxury and the highest service - you are not here.
More details. The flight was early, we arrived at the hotel around 8 am. We were alone in the transfer to our hotel. At the reception, we were offered to check in immediately for a surcharge, we agreed. They settled in for half an hour, put on the bracelets, as expected, after 14, and did not feed breakfast. We, in principle, were ready for such a situation and ate food brought from home. Upon departure, they also offered to extend the room and pay extra for lunch, but we did not, the transfer was already at 13, there was no point in extending it. Somewhere in the reviews, I read that this hotel chain does not have bracelets for regular customers, this is not true. I met the guys who are in this hotel for 11 times, they have silver bracelets, room check-out at 16.00 and lunch are included in the tour.
There are no complaints about the room, quite spacious. It has already been written a lot here that the hotel is not new and the furniture has already been a little “seen”, but everything worked. The safe was quite large and comfortable, I think that even a small laptop would fit.

The hotel is located on a hill, cascading accommodation. Upstairs there is a reception, a large swimming pool, a large two-story building, a restaurant, a bar, a discotheque, in general, the entire infrastructure. We were placed on the second floor, near the reception. Further down are one-story buildings, in several tiers. At the lowest level - rooms with access to the sea. Opposite them is another small pool. Now they actually settle either next to the reception, or near the sea. In principle, as you like, you need to go uphill, downhill in any case, only if you live upstairs - by the sea, and if near the sea - then to a restaurant, bar, Internet, etc. Architecturally, the hotel is quite simple, the buildings are stuck a little closely, there is no special beauty, for example, to take pictures. But everything is compact. Greenery. You can say about her that she is. The hotel can not be called green, but not a stone jungle. Flowering bushes, grass, palm trees, everything is there. The most important feature of the hotel in terms of location is a really steep hill to the sea-from the sea. You need to go either up the stairs and through the pedestrian crossing, or along the road where the electric car drives. I must say that this segment is very small, it takes about five minutes to overcome. I can't say that if you have joint problems, don't go to this hotel. We have them and the descent-ascent was quite capable. But here everyone decides for himself.
Food. Given the crisis, I expected something meager and very simple, but then a pleasant surprise awaited me. Yes, it was felt that the dishes were planned with a very limited budget, but from this budget, as a good hostess, the chefs managed to squeeze the maximum. I didn't see anything suspicious. For breakfast and lunch there was always one or two soup options, fresh and tasty. Vegetable soup, pureed soups, milk soup, etc. There were always vegetables, both fresh cuts (carrots, cabbage, cucumbers, bell peppers) and fried-stewed (eggplants, carrots), mashed potatoes and french fries. After the Ukrainian winter, which was poor in vegetables, I reached for eggplants, they were always in abundance, and in different versions. Almost every day there was some kind of fish. Meat was not in abundance, but it was both stewed and fried. Chicken, quail, beef, cooked delicious, not tough, not overcooked. For breakfast, you could order scrambled eggs with additives to taste (onions, peppers, etc. ), cooked in front of you, the same with pasta. Fruit was also available every day. Very juicy oranges, dates, melon. Of course, desserts deserve special attention. Large selection of rolls, puffs, cakes, various soufflé s, etc. Everything is prepared with great imagination. In general, we were delighted with the chef. Respect to exquisite taste and imagination. Too bad he didn't come out. On the last day, I conveyed my respect through the manager, I hope they passed it on to him.
Bar. I can’t say anything about alcohol, I haven’t tried it. A small bottle of martini bought in a dutik was not mastered even with delicious Egyptian packaged mango juice. The bar worked both on the beach and in the evening on the upper platform. Bottled juices, cola, sprite, water, everything was in abundance. There is a coffee machine on the beach where you can make yourself a cappuccino. Fairly written "nescafe", but quite tasty. Real coffee was missing. On the last day, it turned out that you can order Turkish brewed coffee for an extra charge. Aromatic, fragrant with spices, real Arabic coffee. For some reason, nowhere in the descriptions of even additional services, coffee does not appear. And in vain, it's worth it. In general, it doesn’t count, now you have to go to Egypt again to drink plenty of coffee with spices and the aroma of cardamom, which the Egyptians say is not coffee with cardamom, it’s just Turkish coffee.
Additional services. A lot of things are closed, for example, a diving center and a restaurant on the beach. All shops on site are closed. In general, it’s a bit problematic with shops there - you have to stomp to the nearest supermarket, the nearest working shops are on the territory of the Baron, but, of course, it’s quite expensive there. The general policy is this - if you need something - ask the staff, if possible, they will organize everything. We rented fins and vests without any problems, although the diving center was closed. There is free WiFi at the reception, however, it is weak and works as it should, sometimes I could not get on the Internet at all, although there were no people at the reception. But in general, it worked out to write home.

Sea. No, not like that, here I will allow myself the emotion of the SEA !!!!!! ! The sea is excellent. The coast is not rocky; But even small children cannot swim in this shallow water, it is too shallow. That is, the sea is only from Pantone. Panton, as in most hotels, is made of plastic cubes. When you walk on it, it wobbles. On the first day, my mother walked along it and said that she would not go again, it was very scary. But then I got it all right. I personally enjoyed walking along the pantone, such an additional mini-attraction. Descent into the sea along the ladder, you also need to adapt. In all neighboring hotels, even in the pretentious "Baron", there is also such a pantone made of cubes. The coral is beautiful. From the pontoon in the direction of Melia Sinai, there is immediately beautiful coral, and in the direction of the Baron, immediately behind the pontoon, there is a small area of dead and not beautiful coral, and then beauty. For those who like to hang out on the house reef, there is something to see, beautiful corals right next to the pontoon and a lot of fish near and under it. For those who swim long and far in general expanse. I don't even know which way is prettier. In the direction of Melia Sinai, there are beautiful corals, quite diverse, somewhere more multi-level, somewhere reminiscent of underwater island gardens. They advised us to swim in that direction to the lagoon, where every day yachts bring people for snorkeling and diving. A really beautiful lagoon, even though it’s a bit far from our beach to swim. In the direction of the "Baron" is also a beautiful, partly living coral. I didn't have time to explore this part. If you go in that direction, there is also a wild beach and you can go from the shore, but the neighbors swam there, they were not enthusiastic about the underwater world. The water was quite warm, we swam for hours without a wetsuit, normally. In general, there is something to see and where to swim, for every taste and opportunity in swimming. There are fewer fish, everyone who has been in Sharm before is talking about it. Probably, the fish also have a crisis. But there is something to see, although I would like more.
In principle, all the hotels that are located in this bay have a common embankment and you can walk along the coast along all the hotels. It is very interesting, especially if it is problematic to swim, dive from someone else's pontoon, for example, from the Baron or Melia Sharm pontoon. But then how lucky, because the staff of other hotels are chasing other people's tourists. Here, as a lifeguard, there will be a mood. The lifeguard on the Baron, for example, told me directly that “it’s impossible today, because the owner is watching, and tomorrow come, but only with Dasha, and you can’t do without Dasha” (Egyptian men, where without it : )). We were simply driven away from Melia Sharm, and local tourists began to stand up for us, but the lifeguard only shouted. It's nice when strangers, compatriots, stand up for you. In general, it’s not worth counting on the fact that it will be possible to freely watch the reefs of other hotels, it’s how lucky. But if you swim in flippers and far away, then the whole sea is yours, as far as your strength is enough. In the evenings, we walked along all the hotels, even went into the territory of the Baron, no one stopped us.
The most unpleasant moment on the sea is that there is no lifeguard on the pontoon. There is an employee on the beach who alone is responsible for towels, grounds and a pontoon. Ahmed. Very smiling, friendly, with good English, but he is there alone. I can’t say that he doesn’t follow what is happening in the sea, he watches and even whistles if someone (me, for example : )) swims too risky. And, I'm sure, it will save if it runs. But he is alone on the beach and cannot physically be on the pontoon all the time, and the pontoon is quite long. On the first day, there was another guy there that I identified as the lifeguard. He helped me with the mask, gave some practical advice, asked if everything was all right with me (my mask was leaking heavily), but then I didn’t see him there. The currents there are strong, and not always predictable, swimming in one direction, you can partly go with the flow and easily, and partly against the flow and feel like a fly in amber, even in flippers, feeling that you are rowing, but standing still. Mom got caught like that once, swam, but couldn’t swim to the pontoon. And there is no one around. How I pulled it from there is a separate song, at the moment when I finally climbed onto the pontoon, the thought flashed through my mind that I would lie down here and not get up. It was right, of course, to swim downstream to the next pontoon, but my mother didn’t think of it before, and I confidently decided that I would swim to ours. It's good that everything worked out. If the hotel management reads this review, please pay attention to this point. It is clear that the crisis and the hotel is reducing staff in order to survive, but maybe the lifeguard is not quite the unit that should be saved on? Many people swim not quite confidently, and the current nearby is quite strong and treacherous.
Pools. There are two of them, one near the reception, one near the sea. The upper pool is designed for different depths - there is a deeper one, there is a "paddling pool" for children. Water aerobics took place in the pool near the sea. In April, the water in the pools is already warm during the day.

Staff. Here, too, very positive impressions with one dirty and vile spot, named hotel guide Husam. In principle, nothing special, a sly one and a bastard, like most hotel guides who live by selling excursions to tourists at exorbitant prices, at the same time intimidating with horror stories that you can’t step out of the hotel without them. I read a lot about hotel guides, the meeting with him was scheduled for 11 o'clock, the most beach time and we did not go to meet him. Because I knew that there was nothing to meet with him. He left us a threatening letter, in the best tradition of Egyptian hotel guides, hinting that now we will have problems with the flight and the police. I don’t care, but my mother was alarmed in earnest, she couldn’t even have dinner properly, she was so worried. I had to call the official representative of our tour operator in Egypt, who assured that everything would be in order and he would solve the issue, only after that my mother calmed down. Excursions from him, as one would expect, are twice as expensive as in local agencies. As a result, we went to Ras Mohammed for $ 25 per person by car individually from a local company, which I ours via the Internet. We had an individual guide with us who drove us, fiddled with us when we were not very confident swimming, showed us four reefs, viewing platforms, did not push us anywhere, answered all our questions both on the excursion and on life in Egypt. As a result, we just fell in love with Ras Mohammed. And the sightseers from the hotel guide for $ 40 per person for the bus tour saw only one reef, on which there was a short snorkeling (the most uninteresting, as for me) and did not see the observation deck-observatory. In general, I now understand why there are so many reviews about Ras Mohammed, that the coral there is not more beautiful than in the hotel. It just depends on what to show. It's called, feel the difference.
From the hotel staff (we will assume that the hotel guide is still not a hotel employee, but an employee of a travel agency), the impressions are the most positive. I’ll make a reservation right away that my motto is - smile at the world and the world will smile at you. I suspect that if they are treated like slaves who owe the tourist everything in the world, and the tourist is a king and a god, then the impression will be different. All of us were cordial and friendly. You smile at them - they blur in a smile in response. Mom forgot the medicine at home, they asked, we got it. Despite the fact that there is a crisis in the country, there are no tourists and low salaries, the Egyptians do not lose heart and are happy with those tourists who still dared to come to them. I started to learn a little Arabic, learned a few phrases from video lessons at home. Almost all the locals told me how to say this or that phrase correctly. In general, when you address them in Arabic, they already shine. I tried it with Egyptian tourists - in response to my “asalam alaikum”, the face of even the most severe Arab woman shines with a smile. The Egyptians are, in fact, very friendly to those who are friendly to them. In general, the frostbitten receptionists, greedy bartenders, boorish waiters, dirty and lazy cleaners and other characters described in the reviews of tourists did not come across to us. The reception was responsive, the waiters and bartenders were sincere, everyone smiled at us. And even the night watchman taught me to speak Arabic “good morning” correctly when I ran past him at five o'clock in the morning at dawn. Baksheesh was never extorted. When we gave a dollar or a chocolate bar, we took it with joy. Yes, "Alenka" is still quoted there, oddly enough, one "Alenka" is half a dollar.
Animation. Given the number of tourists in the hotel, the animation is just super! I was especially impressed by the animator Natalie from Ukraine. A real pro of a very high class, constantly interacts with tourists, attracts them to various activities, and does it not intrusively, but in such a way that they really want to take part. I liked the stretching - the exercises are well chosen, sensible and gentle. Water aerobics - it was generally enchanting, with incendiary music, with the expression and interaction of the group ("round dances", "stars", etc. ). There were dances, several times we danced "Bomb" in the pool, the memories are super! Belly dance with animator Anechka was also impressive, and she conducted it even though there were no people besides me at first. They invited me to volleyball and water polo, I did not participate, but they were. In the evening, Natasha lit up the disco area next to the bar, first the children, and then the adults to dance. Moreover, both the Egyptians and we danced. The music was both Arabic and ours. Everything was very incendiary and sincere. In order to stir up such a small number of people in such a way, one must have high professionalism. Natalie, kudos!!!
Cleaning. I am not a fan of turning into the host of the Inspector General, but it was visibly clean in the room. Towels were changed, a 1.5 liter bottle of water was left every day. Towel figurines sprinkled with the petals of local plants were twirled. The janitor was caught with imagination, every day the figure was different. I was especially touched when I came to the room and found a man with a TV remote control on my bed. They left a dollar every day. Once they left a chocolate bar instead of a dollar, but twisted the figurines anyway. There were a lot of mosquitoes in the room, especially in the bathroom. They asked at the reception to poison, from the second reminder they handed it over to the cleaner, he poisoned the mosquitoes. There was a raptor, but it coped with a C grade, it didn’t take all the Egyptian mosquitoes. In general, we are very satisfied with the cleaning.

A separate pleasure, which was very significant for me, is sunrises. Magical Egyptian sunrises over the sea, which are revealed to those who dared to get up early. The sun on the beach "Coral Beach Montazah" rises because of the island of Tiran. Beautiful, sorry, I was not lucky with the clouds, the sky was clear. And even at dawn, beautiful silhouette photos are obtained. I went at dawn every morning. Magical time, first you watch the sun roll out from behind the mountain, and then you can walk along the deserted beach, meditate, walk along the coastline (it's not hot yet). Again, the light for photography is excellent.
General conclusion. Coral Beach Montazah is worth going to and voting for with your pocket. A positive combination of "price-quality", decent food, excellent animation, friendly staff, and most importantly, the most beautiful sea. My vacation was bright and memorable, thanks to everyone who had to do with it!! ! I wish the hotel to withstand the crisis and flourish even more!
