We went to this hotel 3 times. I liked the rest very much. We went to Egypt 14 times. Almost all the negative reviews about this hotel are true, but when I choose a hotel for my next trip, I don't know if I will find a better place to stay. The only purpose of our trip is long snorkeling (we love long distance and fast enough to snorkel). I know in Egypt only two places suitable for this purpose - Cape Ras Nasrani (where the Melia Sinai hotel is) and further from this cape to the Lighthouse. The second place is the bay where the Continental Garden Hotel is located. From the Continental Garden you can swim in both directions, if you swim to the left, 1 kilometer 100 meters to the underwater cape are very beautiful places, and most importantly, there are very few people in the sea, the sea is not blocked, motor boats with "bananas" do not go over their heads! Elsewhere in Egypt, near hotels, snorkeling is either unpleasant (the smell of gasoline) and dangerous, or simply impossible due to the motor boats of tourists.
I can say about the Continental Garden Hotel that it suits me. In addition to a good coral reef, it has some advantages, namely, an affordable price, a convenient layout of the hotel and the availability of food in the dining room. The hotel is on the first line, not small, but thanks to the elevator to the beach, it is very convenient to get from the room to the beach and to the dining room. The linen and towels in the rooms are clean. Food in the dining room is edible. The food is not for gourmets, it is not necessary to eat this for pleasure, but it is edible. For lunch and dinner there was always a fish dish, chicken and meat. I really enjoyed the holiday. I wrote in detail about snorkeling in this bay 3 years ago - nothing has changed. On this trip, we managed to meet a manta (the first time we met it at 6-30 in the morning near the underwater cape, which is located on the left side, a kilometer from the hotel). The manta deployed less than a meter directly below us. It was even a little scary. Then she was met two more times, but not so close (there are photos).
I would not recommend this hotel to people who do not snorkel or swim but do not sail far from the hotel. If you don’t swim far, then you can choose any hotel in Egypt, since in this case corals and fish will seem the same everywhere. I will not recommend this hotel to people who like to spend time only on the beach, and just swim in the sea for a few minutes - in this case, the beach can be found better (preferably in another country). Who travels for the sake of rest of small children, it is also better to look for a beach with clean sand on the surf.

The pontoon that went immediately from the shore broke. All that remains is the entrance to the sea, where you first have to walk knee-deep in water on underwater plates, and then climb onto the pontoon.
Those who like to drink beer in comfort and other spirits in bars will probably not like this hotel very much.
I recommend this hotel to middle aged people. If you want a relaxing holiday - get up at dawn, chase fish in the sea, and go to bed early - this hotel is a good choice.
