Hello, dear friends, like-minded people and travelers!
I want to share my impressions about our 19th vacation in Egypt, the 10th in Marsa Alam. This vacation was incredibly hard-won and therefore very necessary. We chose "Marina Lodge At Port Ghalib 4 *" for the third time, it was here that the soul asked to rest from the shocks experienced.
Transfer: Flight Kyiv - Hurghada 4 hours, flew on an airplane model MD-83, airlines "BRAVO". The company pleased with the strict observance of safety rules, high-quality service and impeccably soft takeoff and landing. One minus of this path is the flight to Hurghada. After check-in at the airport, it took about 4 hours to drive to the hotel, carrying fellow travelers along the way.

Check-in: There were new people at the reception, but they took into account our wishes regarding accommodation - they gave us a third floor with a partial sea view. They settled immediately, although it was about 8 o'clock in the morning, but they were not allowed to have breakfast, it was not allowed.
But we had sandwiches, Easter eggs and cognac brought from home. They celebrated Easter on the balcony of the room overlooking the sea.
Room: room number 335 was given on the 3rd floor with a partial view of Port Ghalib and the sea at no extra charge. The only minus of the room is that it is unrealistically difficult to look for it, like in a maze. I'm a topographic idiot, and I could only find it by the arrows. The room is decorated in an oriental style, with a hanging chandelier, mosaics and stained glass windows. Dimensions and decoration correspond to 4 *. Everything is not new, but it worked properly. The door to the toilet is more aesthetic than practical, it does not reach the floor and ceiling. The hood in the toilet is good, but there is no soundproofing, for romantic couples who have not lived together before, it can be a problem)))). Shampoos, shower gel and soap are replenished. There is a dressing room and a balcony with chairs and a table.
In general, I would like to say the following about the room: everything is not very new, not very modern, but it is quite acceptable for relaxation. The cleaner was just amazing. He cleaned very diligently and efficiently, pleased with the “towel creativity”. Thanks a lot!
The territory is small, but very green, the plants are well-groomed, the facades of the buildings are painted regularly. There are large and small pools overlooking the sea and yachts, there were enough sunbeds. Opposite the pool is the lobby bar area. The hotel is cozy. I would call the views in the hotel the term “all inclusive”: flowers and greenery are everywhere, the azure sea is visible a few meters away, the beautiful architecture of Port Ghalib, in the port they are laid up or walk past yachts (some are simply gorgeous), catamarans and bathyscaphes, above the hotel planes fly regularly (5 km to Marsa Alam airport). Wherever you look, beauty is everywhere.

Sorry, I am quoting the description of the rooms and the territory verbatim from my previous review, because almost nothing has changed in a year.

Meals: As in the previous 2 times - this is the weak side of the hotel. All dishes are ordinary, but meat and fish are very dry, it is impossible to chew the meat. There were no health problems, but I can’t say that it was delicious. There is something to compare, even with cheaper hotels. However, the shortcomings of the kitchen were compensated by the impeccable work of the waiters. Thank them very much! Very friendly and attentive!
Bars: 1 near the pool and 1 on the beach. The all inclusive system operates from 11 am to 11 pm. Large selection of local alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks: rum, vodka, tequila, brandy, good bottled beer, powdered juices, fanta, sprite, cola.
Service: I can't describe how warmly we were welcomed like old favorite friends!!!! ! And how happy we were to meet you! This is no longer a staff, but real sincere friends.
We were happy to see familiar faces, especially Ramadan (the bartender on the beach). We have never met a nicer person on any of our vacations. The best bartender in Egypt. He did everything to make us feel at home. Thank you friend!! ! The new workers (bartenders and waiters Big Ramadan, Yasser, Muhamed, Amr) were also great. Thanks!! ! It is because of such people that you want to return to the hotel again and again. It is because of the sincerity of the staff that we love Marina Lodge At Port Ghalib 4* so much.
Animation Entertainment: the hotel has a team of local guys. Chef - animator Mimo is a great fellow. We've known him for 3 years. He also greeted us like family. The team has become better, the people have changed. Entertainment is not intrusive, but not boring either. In the evening a lot of fun, constantly discos in the hotel. There was karaoke, dancing, an amazing imported oriental show in the hotel, a fakir show performed by animators and a grandiose party on the beach with an oriental show. Didn't have to be bored.
For me, this is the best animation team in Egypt! Thank you!

Beach: located 400 meters, for a healthy active person, this is not a problem, however, there is a free shuttle bus on schedule. This year, the beach "Marina Lodge At Port Ghalib 4 *" and "Marina View Port Ghalib Hotel 3 *" were united together. There is a bar, shower and toilet. The beach is clean. Enough wind protection. Entrance to the sea on the coral cover.
Sea: The hotel is located right in Potu Ghalib, yachts and catamarans go in front of the beach. The port itself is a long bay with bridges. There is no storm at all in the bay, and this allows you to swim in any weather. It is along this bay that the reef of the hotel is located. I regret to say that in 2015 the coral was much better and the fish more. Human activities have a negative impact on nature.
However, we did not suffer from the lack of living creatures: on one day we met four turtles at once, on the other - two stingrays chasing each other on the coral cover, there were also titanium triggerfishes, rays, surgeons, rhinos, zebrosomes, groupers, aluters, plataxes , flutes, arotrons, octopus, moray eels, flocks of hunting mackerel and phlegmatic smiling hedgehog fish, saw a huge crocodile fish. There is nothing to say about small fish, such a concentration of all colors and species cannot be found in special aquariums.
Leisure outside the hotel:
1. All previous visits to this hotel and other Port Ghalib hotels have walked to Marsa Mubarak Bay (2.5 km south) countless times. Turtles have always been around, but dugong have never been seen. And so I wanted to. This time we took an excursion on the beach from a very charming guy Hosam El Din (aka Sonic).

In the morning after breakfast, we were taken by water taxi to the other side of the port to the yacht. First, we sailed to the bay of Mars Shun, swam, returned to the yacht. The second stop is Marsa Mubarak. We were unloaded from the boat directly onto a huge turtle grazing under water, swam, and returned to the yacht. We had lunch. Then we were given free time to swim in the bay, but I really wanted to see the dugong. I asked the guides on the yacht to find him, I know they can do it. The dugong was found, we were poured out of a rubber boat into the sea right above the huge dugong. Stunning animal, beautiful and elegant! A dream come true, thank you so much! The dugong swam up and quickly began to swim away. Only a few swimmers were able to catch up with him as he submerged again. We had the opportunity to swim next to it without a huge crowd of people.
2. Shopping. At a distance of 2 km from the hotel there is a supermarket "Adam Market". We walked 2 times along the road.
Prices in the supermarket are fixed. The difference between the prices in the hotel shops and in this supermarket can be dozens of times (for example, for soap, ointments, shampoos, pastes, hair masks, creams, sweets and other Egyptian-made things that are really worth bringing home). Soaps, pastes, dates and halva were collected again.
3. We went to the restaurant "Divino", which is located in Port Ghalib at the end of the embankment. The staff already remembered us. Previously, they took a huge plate of the freshest and most delicious seafood (lobster, shrimp, squid, mussels, fish) and a hookah. This time I wanted a seafood pizza and a seafood cocktail. Very tasty and very much, we could hardly finish it. Thank you!
The general impression of the rest: the hotel may not appeal to people with high demands on the territory of food and rooms. And we at Marina Lodge At Port Ghalib 4 * felt welcome and friends, like a second home.
Money can't buy that feeling. This hotel has soul. The soul of this hotel is the amazing people who work here. Once again thank you very much!! ! I really didn't want to leave! We will definitely be back, God bless!
