Egypt. Excursion to Luxor from Makadi (Pegas tour operator)
The trip took place with the operator Pegas. Our route started from the hotels of the Makadi area (in fact, it can be considered from Hurghada). Visited attractions:
Luxor Temple. Quite an interesting place. The valley of the sphinxes leads from it to the Karnak temple, although it has not yet been completely reconstructed.
From the “city of the living” to the “city of the dead” we sail on a motorboat across the Nile River. The route takes 5 minutes. The river, like a river, is quite clean, I did not see anything unusual in it in Luxor. There are no crocodiles, because all of them remained below the Aswan Dam, built with the support of the former USSR.
Temple of Hatshepsut (the only female queen). The temple is interesting to see from the outside. I didn't see anything interesting inside.
Papyrus factory-museum. A short story about the manufacture of papyrus. And so the shop as a shop. Who really needs papyrus - you can buy for every taste and size.
Souvenir shop. There are a large number of products, you can choose something as a souvenir.
Tombs in the Valley of the Queens. I must say right away that there are no mummies here, because. all the mummies “left” to Cairo. There are pictures on the walls. In general, the tombs did not impress at all. Photos inside are prohibited. Local workers come up with all sorts of funny tricks to cheat tourists for a dollar.
Leaving Luxor, we make a short stop near two massive stone statues - the singing colossi of Memnon. Somehow I expected to see something more grandiose.
In general, this excursion takes about a day, moderately tiring, it's worth a trip once.
