In general, the impression of the hotel is not bad. The hotel is neat, green, beautiful and comfortable. We chose from several hotels (Melia Farao, Sofitel, Desert Rose), settled on this - we decided to save money on excursions.
Actually, they didn't regret it.
There are 2 Russian girls at the reception. But the local guys also learned Russian. You can hardly see the Germans, they are kind of quiet, and there are not many of them. Italians stand out more. But at the beginning of October, a lot of Russians arrived. One eternally drunk even became a kind of local landmark. Particularly pleasing (against the background of Germans and Italians in beach outfits) were Russian women: a voluminous butt covered in ceremonial pants, hairpins and a full parade on the face - that's them !!!

As for HB - really, you need to decide for yourself - is it enough. At first, I was very thirsty - they bought water outside the territory, in shops - the local "Baraka" 1.5 liters for 2 pounds. The last 5 days somehow they didn’t even drink, they left a liter and a half in the refrigerator when leaving. There were no stomach problems. We always ate. True, my daughter wanted to eat at lunch - they took pizza in a restaurant - 25-32 pounds, enough for 2 days to dine. (True, we have such a regime at home - in the morning no one eats (sleepy!! ! : )), we have lunch and dinner)
There were no comments about the hotel. In general. Unless a cockroach came to visit, we informed the reception and they were chased at night. Lived in the room they gave. Nothing really broken. I already took a hair dryer with me, but I never used it - what kind of styling, if constantly in the water?!!! ! And in the air everything dries instantly! They left a pound for the cleaner, he was just happy, he left 4 shampoos and a pajama bird.
The room was near the reception. It is possible to go to the sea far away - about 5 minutes, but we went like this 2-4 times a day. To the sea in the morning and from the sea in the evening. If you didn't go anywhere.
I liked the beach. It was made as a lagoon, and therefore there are quite a lot of places for such a relatively small hotel as Lilyland. We could always (! ) choose a place no further than 2-3 rows from the sea, I always fearlessly left my things on a sunbed and went for a swim. Guys are constantly coming and cleaning. Garbage is removed from the bins, caught with a net from the sea. The toilet on the beach was amazing. Everything seems to be washed there every 5 minutes.
We went from Turtesse, we got a wonderful guide - Mustafa, a very kind, tactful and decent person, even by our standards. His advice was very helpful. By the way, I advise you to go to a meeting that he arranges for those who have arrived, he tells a lot of useful things, especially for beginners. You can ask about prices and so on. We consulted with him, and prices were sometimes knocked down by 2-2.5 times.
As for shopping - we bought some things in shops near the hotel (NOT in the hotel) cheaper than in Hurghada. The phrase "In Hurghada we bought this for so much... " also helped a lot, they sold it cheaper, or for the same amount, but the best thing! : ))

I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND going to the shops during the day. Everyone bathes, so the locals simply hunt for rare buyers. In the evening, there are much more people, so the sellers treat Europeans easier and prices can be brought down lower.
In general, I did not clarify the issue of tips for myself, they left the cleaner and gave the porter at the entrance. I didn’t give it to anyone at the reception, I left 50 piastres in the dining room once (the tablecloth was taken with chocolate, I put it under the plate). One guy constantly courted me and my daughter, I once wanted to give him a pound - he refused and was almost offended.
The animation is twofold. For the Germans, their own, they hung out separately. For the rest - an international company with an Italian bias, quite interesting entertainments were arranged. We really rarely got on them - by 8 o'clock we just fell asleep, we were exhausted for the day! : )) But our friends said that every evening something was arranged. We got to Miss Lillyland and the Fire Show.
What else I liked - in the evening, half board includes drinks, so far from everywhere. And a decent selection.
And a few tips -
1. For lovers of souvenirs, pay attention to the shops at the airport, they are inexpensive and have a good choice (it is quite possible that it is cheaper than in the city).
2. pay in pounds - and at the same time calculate at the rate of 1:5, not 1:5.7, the locals do this. (beneficial, right? )
3. Girls - do not fight off their husbands.
4. He treats the locals well - in the end, it was we who came to them, and not all of them are dishonorable people. If they are sincere, don't be mean in return. And on the other hand - if the seller is an unpleasant type - do not go there anymore, do not run into trouble, after all, there are many stores, and almost the choice is the same everywhere.
5. Among the shops near the hotels, I liked, it seems, "Birch" - there is a good (not banal) selection of high-quality T-shirts and towels. The seller turned out to be Orthodox, called himself Benjamin, and told me that I was very kind. Even though I made a discount. They brought, you see, ours.
6. Take a waterproof sunscreen - I got burned mostly in water - only my shoulders and nose.

7. Russian ORT is better not to watch - gloomy and aggressive brainwashing, we watched the second channel (English films with Arabic interlinear - at least I learned the language).
8. Excursion to Cairo is less tiring than to Luxor, despite the fact that the trip is longer. And the guides are advised to tip the drivers - we were told normally 5 pounds per family / company.
9. And try to make friends with the guide - sometimes the advice of a local is very necessary.
Good luck!! !
