My wife, sister and friends "vacated" in Ali Baba in November 2007.
When we arrived at the hotel - around two in the morning - the places we had booked a month before were not there! We were offered to stay for one night at the Titanic Hotel, located across the street from Ali Baba... Imagine - this is a whole day down the drain - the procedure for settling evictions, instead of a whole day of normal rest. We gave our meeting guides (Coral and Odeon Tours) a dressing, but at night it was useless - everyone who could somehow influence the situation naturally slept. During the showdown, the hotel workers at the reception chuckled softly - they did not care that a group of tourists who came to their hotel would be left without an overnight stay.
The guides managed to persuade some of them to spend the night in the Titanic, but our company was determined and we stayed until morning in the hotel lobby - since there are a lot of sofa chairs and tables.

In the morning, the hotel guide Jihad appeared, who explained the situation: it turns out that a group of Germans did not leave the hotel on time (their plane was allegedly delayed - unheard of in Germany) and no one dared to evict them !! ! Ours would be thrown out in the most brazen way. The cost of a day in the hotel was returned to us and to those who spent the night with us in the lobby.
Whatever it was - at 8 am we were wearing bracelets and we got the opportunity to have breakfast. I will not describe the procedure for obtaining numbers for our company - thanks to my wife - the cunning woman took advantage of the fact that Egyptian men were crazy about her.
In general, we settled. Tired of the flight and sleepless nights, angry. Only the bright sun and palm trees cheered up.
Now about the hotel.
1. The rooms are shabby, outdated and completely worn out.
2. Bedspreads in some old stains.
3. Plumbing sucks.
4. The furniture is shabby, the upholstery of the sofa and ottomans is frayed and also stained.
About staff
Example 1. You stand at the bar in the hotel lobby, waiting for him to pour you a drink - and he's on the drum - as if you weren't there at all. Then he will come up, pour with some kind of squeamish face - no hello to you or please....in general, with such a look, like you borrow a million from him. Mood from this falls instantly.
Example 2. In canteens (it’s hard to call those places restaurants) the service generally leaves much to be desired - they frankly don’t notice you, you won’t ask for drinks and you won’t wait, the same with tea, coffee and cutlery, but they get it with offers of paid drinks and paid seafood that is never on the menu - banal squid, shrimp and more.
Example 3. You are sitting in the room, before you go to dinner - there is a knock on the door - the room cleaner has come in and rushes past me into the room - starts to fumble around the room - move the furniture, check something with his leaflet... we are standing with my wife crazy - we can’t even say a word... but he says like a standard check of the number . . I had to wait for him to leave. But I expressed my displeasure to him.
There were many more petty moments of staff behavior that spoiled the mood (constant begging for tips and other attempts to extort money), but I think I have already said so much.

Separately, I want to note the all-inclusive diet - in my opinion, it does not correspond to the truth, because. cocktails, soft drinks, fruit and ice cream were offered only for money. In the hotel of the Sunrise chain, all of the above was in any quantity and absolutely free. And in general, in Sunrise, we didn’t think about money - everything was included in the cost of the tour - it naturally came out more expensive than in Ali Baba....but only $ 150 per person...
The food in the hotel is monotonous, stingy. Got tired of everything quickly. As a result, we dined often in the restaurants of Hurghada for money - that's where it's really tasty and cheap by the way!
In the end, we are optimistic people and we still managed to relax normally, because. and in the hotel there were normal employees with whom it was nice to talk (these are the workers of the bar on the beach - good guys) and we ourselves didn’t want to be angry with anyone - the sea, the sun, the beach and other pleasures are still more important than hotel troubles. I can’t say anything about animation - because our company was animation itself - we didn’t need to amuse and entertain =)
Finally a couple of tips:
You should not call the Egyptians chocks and you should not call them names at all - they remember this and then they begin to treat all Russians badly.
You should not get drunk to death - lose your face in front of them.
Behave with dignity - then the attitude towards you will be worthy.
