Perhaps a year or two ago it was a wonderful place for a family, relaxing holiday. But after the Egyptian political crisis, the situation for this hotel (and for many others) has changed dramatically. So be vigilant, read the current reviews, and most importantly - “the miser pays twice! »
Visually, Onatti is what it looks like in the photo “for tourists”, that is, new and well-groomed. By the time we got there, there was already a lot of greenery. The area is not big, but nice.
There is a pontoon on the beach, still unfinished but "walkable". From it you can go down almost to the edge of the crust.
You can swim with a mask without the risk of “getting close to a hedgehog” only behind the crust. What kind of fauna is there, corals, I can’t describe, because.
the wind was very strong, and it was not realistic to go beyond the crust. If we are not lucky with the weather like we are, snorkelers have nothing to do.
Cuisine and Service suffered the most. Due to the small number of people in the hotel (about 8 people on the first day), there was no Swedish table in principle. On the next day settled 100 people. and the choice and the table appeared, but it is unlikely that it will be possible to call it Swedish, because the settlers were Arabs and the kitchen became
predominantly national.
Separately, for drinks, there were no juices, there were UPI and hibiscus, beer in 200g glasses, wine (only red). For every glass of "alcoholic", you need to sign! So if you suddenly want to stop drinking - you are here!
Service
As the owner himself said, they had to greatly reduce the number of staff, and even save on its quality. In view of this, the service in the hotel was practically absent.
I do not belong to the category of tourists who consider Russian the second state language in Egypt, but should they know English at the hotel?
We spent two "unforgettable" days in Onatti, after we moved from another hotel (thanks to the TezTour representative for help). This was enough for us to be guided by the three principles that I indicated at the beginning when choosing a hotel in the future.

This is the way it is in this hotel, no domestic shortcomings spoil the rest. About the main distinguishing features - today the hotel is new and not fully commissioned, sometimes small, almost invisible repairs are carried out. The territory of the hotel, as well as the service, claim to be at a high level, but have not yet been run in, as a result of which there are failures. For example - the absence of a certain type of alcohol, the lack of cups or napkins, but this is all quickly settled, and this phenomenon is temporary.
The greenery on the territory is in a state of inception, so you will not see a beautiful green landscape. Otherwise, the hotel is equipped with all the elements for a quality holiday - two swimming pools, one of them heated, a pool with slides for children, a small amphitheater, a small dance hall in the bar.
Now about the main thing - the delightful sea. For 300 meters from the shore there is a coral plate, above which the water depth does not exceed 1m. On it you can see small corals and several varieties of fish, all this is in close proximity to you, and the effect of swimming in an aquarium is created. On the plate, regardless of the strength of the wind, there are no big waves and you can always swim here. But you need to be extremely careful not to get hurt on corals, entering the water without special equipment. slippers not possible. Further, the plate ends with a cliff, where the depth of the sea is about 8 m.
Now a pontoon is being built near the hotel, which will make it possible to immediately get to the depth, but at this time it is not finished yet. In the place where the slab breaks, the corals are brighter and there are more fish, but because of the considerable depth, you can’t see everything as close and clear as on the slab. During periods of strong winds, there are large waves behind the plate, which wrap at the beginning of the coral plate, and it is not safe to swim there. Winter is the season of winds in Egypt, during our stay there was calm for 3 days. If you want to see a more beautiful fauna, it is possible if you walk about 1 km from the hotel to the right (if you are facing the hotel), to a place where the road is very close to the sea. Another distinguishing feature is that along the entire coast, the waves wrap at the beginning of the plate, creating a straight white line, at this point the line is interrupted. A slab break is formed there, in this place you can see more beautiful and old corals and a more interesting bottom.
In my opinion, not a very good place for a trip with small children - there is no convenient entry into the sea. Well, you will not be provided with any exciting entertainment here either. Write, ready to answer all questions.

4) The most important thing is the sea - you can go in safely without slippers, it's about 5 meters, and then you still need to wear slippers, there are corals, but I can say that it's better than charm!!!
5) Kotingent - the hotel is designed for Italians, but they speak Russian, German, English and Italian there. And so I will say easier than less Russian in the hotel, the much better service, and cleaner!!!
6) Entertainment: Animation is good enough, both during the day and in the evening! Ramses - Respect!! ! but there is no way to get out of the hotel, only the nearest small town of El Kuzeir is 19 km away.
Bottom line: The hotel is designed for a quiet, moderate rest, for those who want to take a break from the bustle of the city, who want to look at the red corals!! ! As for the minuses, they are everywhere in every hotel, this can be said 100%, but honestly for me they were so insignificant that I didn’t even notice !! ! Relax and sunbathe!! !
