I will not recommend this hotel to anyone as a hotel. Because in fact it is rather not a hotel, but a hostel. Let me explain in what cases it may be worth choosing this option. There is only one case - there is nothing else more decent, and you arrive in the city by ferry, and late))))

Or, if you are traveling with a group of students and you just need to lay your head somewhere for the night, and then run to hang out again.

The contingent in the hotel is young people aged 18-25, but there are also healthy Estonian (? ) guys who are no longer very similar to students, obviously older, but quite cheerful and friendly.

We chose this hotel by chance.
Spontaneously decided to go from Helsinki to Tallinn. Therefore, they began to look at hotels only the day before.
On booking. com the next day there were very strange proposals. Either hostels for 20-50 euros, or hotels from 130 euros and more.

And here the last issue was offered by sale for (hey! ) 39 euros!
The pictures were tolerable - like a normal, but unpretentious room, and a bed.
Well, what else do you need to come from the ferry, go to eat, look for a hotel for yourself the next day after tomorrow via wifi and go to bed.
It was reported that the bath and toilet are shared on the floor.
Well, there's nothing to be done, for 1 night it will do somehow.

Moreover, we had not been to Tallinn before, we didn’t know the city, we also didn’t really understand where everything was on the map. Therefore, we wanted to find a hotel for 1 night near the terminal where the ferry arrives.
And this hotel is just around the corner. We didn’t even take any taxis or buses - we walked on the map and after 15 minutes of a leisurely walk we arrived at the hotel.

From the "terminal D", where the ferry arrived, exit and go either 50 meters to the right and then along the perpendicular street to the left.
Pass a couple of blocks forward, and go left along Narva for another 5 minutes.
Take a map of Tallinn on the ferry - they are available there.

If you don’t feel like walking, you can take bus number 2 right at the terminal. You get to Viru, and there either any bus that runs along the street.
Narva, or 1-2 stops on foot.

You can take a taxi. We never took it, but judging by reading all sorts of tourist brochures, it costs around 1 euro / kilometer.

So we got to the hotel from the ferry very quickly. At the reception was a slightly gloomy girl. We talked in English. Some Russian boy tried to find out from her in Russian the schedule of ferries for tomorrow, she either pretended not to understand, or really didn’t know Russian. As we understood, Russian in Tallinn is known by 90% of the people, if not 100%

The local Russian-language newspaper, by the way, writes just like that, that they are about to live, Russians talk to Estonians in English))).

-----------
ROOM
-----------
Our room was 604, on the 6th floor.
It was completely different from what was in the pictures on Booking. com
It was a small U-shaped room with no double bed. And there were two "cells".
Quite seriously - two niches (sticks of the letter "P"), each of which had a square window, and under it - a single bed.
True, there was a bedside table next to the bed and on it was a cute mini-floor lamp.
Of course we screwed up.

But the situation was saved by the fact that the room was very clean. The bedding was excellent, clean as it should be. The beds are not comfortable, but I slept well.
The pillows are low, but I asked for an extra one (although they brought me a pillow dressed in a painted woolen pillowcase - obviously from the sofa. I took off the woolen pillowcase and thus got the second pillow I was looking for).

In the crossbar of the letter "P" there was actually a free space for the number.
True, apart from two mobile racks for clothes (with hangers) and a trash can, there was no more furniture in the room.

There was a fastener for the LCD TV, but there was no TV itself. Well, okay.
But there was a normal Wifi (the password must be taken at the reception).
I must say that the hotel was not noisy, in the sense that the youth did not make noise.
A little more disturbed passing along the street. Narva cars, but at night they became rare, and with a closed window and a second pillow, you can fall asleep normally.

We went to investigate the situation with a shared bathroom and toilet.
On the floor, three separate normal clean toilets for one were found (in two - full-fledged sinks, a mirror). True, there was no toilet paper in any of them, but there were paper towels-napkins to the eyeballs)))

And also found a shower room (separate for men and women), which resembled the showers in the pool. Only here every shower with a curtain. Plus there are a few more sinks in a row and a few toilet stalls in a row.
Well, such a decent pioneer camp.
In general, whoever visited pioneer camps as a child is such an improved pioneer camp. For a change - very funny (not all the same in hotels 4-5 stars to sit).
There are also towels in the room.
Everything is decent, clean enough.

By the way, this hotel has a Sauna, with a small pool, on the 7th floor, and the room where the pool stands is partially glazed and has a view of the street.
We went there for reconnaissance in the morning, there was obviously some strong company buzzing all night, about 20 people))). But we didn't hear them.

On the floor we saw a room on the 6th, there are just 6 beds. 3 on one side and 3 on the other side by side. Such a "house-2".
But Euro-students live and don't blow their mustaches, everyone looks quite happy.

Moreover, in the cost of our . . mmmmm...rooms for two (for 39 euros for two. Not for each, but for the ROOM) BREAKFAST was included, but for two )))

It was until 11-00 and I must say that everything is fine with breakfast. Porridge (rice, oatmeal), cheese, ham, sausages, eggs, meatballs, pasta, tea coffee and even some muffins. In general, the breakfast is not luxurious, but normal. To our surprise.

The hotel itself is very close to the Old Town.
In the sense of walking very close.
However, by Moscow standards, our next hotel (see my next review of the hotel "Ulemiste" 4 ****) - 5-6 bus stops from the center - was also close.

But our third hotel "VonStackelberg" turned out to be more optimal for living in Tallinn.
(When I write reviews on them, I will post links in the comments to this post)

At the reception in the City Hotel, by the way, you can buy mineral water, cola, and some other drinks at night.

Again, you can take a map of the city at the reception for free.

Where to eat at night in Tallinn
--------------------------
Eat at night near the hotel especially nowhere, by the way.
Behind the shopping center "Foorum" (from the hotel go back along Narva) you need to walk further to the shopping center "Viru" and there is a tent "CoffeeIN" around the circle, which sells sandwiches at night, quite edible, at a good (compared to Helsinki) price - for 2-3 euros.

0.5 mineral water in Tallinn is also cheaper than in Helsinki. 1 euro, against 2.

It seems that in the Old Town (judging by the advertisements), many restaurants are open until 24-00.
If you go a little further to the circle and go to the right - there will be McDonald's (not round the clock, but until late). And Hesburger (but it closes early on weekdays). Behind McDonald's there is a street where there are quite a few bars and there is some kind of nightlife, for example, a Karaoke bar.

In the Solaris shopping center (on the map below, to the left of Narva Street), the food court is open until 23-30 (I don’t know if all the days of the week, but on Saturday for sure).
On the 2nd floor there is a traditional Hesburger, Lido cafe
And on the 5th floor there is a very nice coffee house glazed from ceiling to floor with a view of the Old Town. In good weather, the roof seems to work.
In general, I highly recommend.
If you leave this shopping center and go to the left - after 200 meters there will be a sandwich shop 24 hours.
As for the nightly "eat", there may be more options, but this is what we managed to find out in 2 days in Tallinn.
общая душевая на этаже (пионерский лагерь )))
