The flight was standard - 12 hours in the sky, thank God there were mostly childless couples. We arrived at noon, knowing that registration takes place from 3 pm, we phoned the guys from 2 Bananas and they had a mini tour of Punta Cana. Pleasantly tired, we approached the hotel at 4 o'clock in the afternoon. The hotel is spread over a wide area. The hotel is surrounded by greenery, as in any other hotel in the Dominican Republic on the territory there is everything you need - restaurants (two Italian and one Spanish) with excellent cuisine, transparent swimming pools, tennis courts, a golf course, sports grounds. Electric cars run between the buildings, on one of them we quickly got to the reception. Registration was not long (for a rather slow Dominican Republic). The rooms turned out to be very comfortable, equipped with everything you need - a huge bed, a plasma TV, a large wardrobe, a mini safe, a mini bar with beer and soft drinks, clean towels, bathrobes, etc. gentle rays of the evening sun. The beach was huge, with fine white sand, with azure clear water. There were no problems with sunbeds - there were a lot of them. There was one complaint - algae that remained on the sand. But this is the trouble of all Dominican beaches. In general, the holiday went with a bang! I recommend to everyone!
Since we flew after the wedding, we decided to hold a wedding ceremony in the Dominican Republic - in this heavenly place. And for this they chose the no less paradise island of Saona. For everything to go as it should, we searched for a company for a long time, looked at the reviews. As a result, Foto el Amor (nickname fotoelamor) was found on Instagram. The organizer Katya did her best. And the photographer Radiy from the same company took pictures of us all day. The photos turned out great, we received a flash drive on the last day of vacation. All in all, everything went smoothly and everything was thought out. Saona Island is amazing! We swam in a natural pool and took pictures with starfish, saw rare mangrove forests. The ceremony went well and we will remember this day for a long time.
The hotel has a huge territory, trains drive, but you can walk on foot, especially after you eat once again in their restaurants. So much we have not yet recovered anywhere, they feed for slaughter, very tasty and varied! Drinks are also chic, very tasty, alcohol is not spared, if anyone is interested. We mostly drank soft drinks, they are as sweet as desserts : )
The rooms are good, spacious, no complaints.
The beach is clean, fine white sand, the only thing is a lot of people, I didn’t like it. But the hotel is large, it can accommodate many guests, so you need to be prepared for this.
In general, the impressions are the best! Parents will be sent there.
Territory:
too huge, on arrival we were a little shocked by how much you need to go to the beach. The room was a post office near the suprerior reception. Everywhere it is indicated that grand bahia principe bavaro is the first line, but this is far from being the case! ! We can safely say that this is the SECOND LINE. Quick step to the beach to go exactly 15 minutes! For those who are too lazy to walk, trains run every 5 minutes with stops in different parts of the hotel. The territory is beautiful, green, there is a beautiful bridge with the jungle. There are pools near the sea, where music plays from different angles, full of drunken men and women in the body with beer and other drinks that they pour into the pool, spit there and who knows what else, and swim safely in this mess
Meals: The main restaurant has a large selection of dishes, everything is delicious, there are themed evenings with appropriate cuisine.
BUT, there are so many people that after 19:00 in the evening there are no empty seats in the restaurant AT ALL! You have to wait, and when the place becomes free, there will definitely be a dirty tablecloth and appliances (this is 100% every evening), the waiters do not have time to clean up. Everyone is pushing, there is a queue for dishes. There are a la carte restaurants. Were in everyone. We were simply shocked by the fact that in absolutely all a la carte restaurants there is a BUFFET! It is unacceptable! especially a 5* hotel! ! Were in the Dominican Republic and in 4 and 5 stars and nowhere in a la carte was there a buffet. It's certainly a nightmare. You can choose only one dish from the menu, everything else is a meager buffet where, again, there is a queue. At first I wanted to dress nicely in a restaurant, but the very next day I realized that everyone was wearing anything))) Even in wet bathing suits, they went to the main restaurant for dinner))
Rooms: The rooms are large and spacious. We have been in the Dominican Republic for several years and are used to the fact that we always have a beautiful view of the ocean from the room, but not in this hotel.
There are no rooms with sea views, as the hotel does not go along the beach strip, but inside. Even Hasienda has a partial view of the ocean and then from afar, not to mention the rest of the rooms. we had a view of other balconies)) They clean well, even if you don’t leave a tip, the minibar is always replenished, if you run out of water or beer in the minibar, you can ask the cleaners for more. There are all amenities. I liked the room, by Dominican standards, these are still very good rooms)) There are some flaws, scuffs, but this is the Dominican Republic, it's like that everywhere. Compared to other hotels, the rooms are quite decent.
Other: The hotel is mostly Americans, Europeans, Russians (who behaved quite well). The Americans behaved like cattle. American women sunbathe on the beach without a top, and sometimes without panties, no one remarks to them, despite the fact that there are a crowd of children on the beach who are watching all this. Excursions are best taken in travel agents. There is nothing outside the hotel.
Last year we bought mango, papaya, since there is a season in May, this time it was not possible because there is not a single market or shop behind the hotel. The hotel mangoes are not tasty. On the territory of the hotel there are many souvenir shops with crazy prices! On the whole, it's good. But I will not return to this hotel again, that's for sure)) There is something to compare with and even some 4 are much better than this so-called 5 *. It's far from 5
We go to this hotel for the third time.
The food is excellent. Beach with white sand, sun loungers for everyone.
Small buses run around the territory, if you are too lazy to go, you can get there.
Rooms are good, big (all with balcony).
In general, the hotel is a solid 5.
Check-in at the reception exceeded our expectations from the very beginning)
Everything was explained and told in an accessible way (about the arrangement of the hotel and rooms), they were treated to a welcome cocktail, they took the luggage and took it to the room. There was no extortion of money, as is usually the case in such resorts.
Smiling Dominicans for their positive and helpfulness received from us a chocolate bar, which they were insanely happy about)))
Large well-groomed territory, steam locomotives run)
Our room was large and spacious. The mini bar is full and updated every day, but this is not happiness.
A positive, huge world of kindness and smiles, which charges everyone with its positive emotions!!!!
The beach is large and well maintained. We had algae (((that is, we didn’t have them on the beach, they were cleaned day and night, so the beach of our hotel was always clean!
Very good animation, for those who love of course. All services are unobtrusive and if you do not need it, no one will drag you by the hand.
In general, a sea of positive and a charge of emotions for the year ahead)
