There are a couple of cons and a lot of pluses.
I'll start with "-":
1. The reception is far from the hotel exit, and the hotel does not allow sightseeing buses of other companies other than its own to pick up tourists on the territory. It is necessary to take billboys with golf carts and go to the exit - it costs $ 5, although tour operators then deduct this amount from the cost of the tour. Such an inconvenience.
2. Only English and Spanish at the reception. Who does not know languages a translator on the phone to help.
"+":
1. Awesome food:
- meat shaft including milk pigs and jamon;
- seafood - red, white and tuna fish, squid, shrimps, mussels in different preparations - always;
- always fresh different fresh juices;
- a lot of fruits;
- alcoholic drinks like Absolut Vodka and Baileys please;
- different ice cream.
2. A lot of staff and everyone is rustling.
They wrote that they could steal and everything should be kept in safes.
The docks and finances were of course in the safe, everything else was lying around - either the phone was on charge, or so all the chiki-peaks were in place.
3. Many questions about what and where to buy.
Definitely a factory!
Hotel and non-hotel guides are transported to the factories for free.
There are Russian-speaking consultants and tastings.
We were in supermarkets and 2 factories.
If you don’t know what to bring and you don’t care, you can go to the supermarket.
The price of alcohol is about the same that there that there. Only in the supermarket there is not even half of what is in the factory and there you will try and choose everything. Alcohol from rum for every taste to delicious liqueurs.
- Mamahuana at the factory is more expensive, but much tastier!!!
- Organic caribbean cosmetics - the price is the same in the hotel and in the factory. If you know English, you can buy at the hotel, if not, then the factories will tell and show and test. She is very cool!! ! Djumbo supermarket doesn't have it!
If it weren’t for the factory, we wouldn’t have known about the delicious tea with cocoa flavor (WE WATCHED A LOT OF VIDEOS AND THE BLOGGER ABOUT IT THERE IS SILENCE) AND WE DID NOT SEE IT IN STORES.
- We bought caramels in a supermarket, we barely found hot chocolate in a bar in a store - here it is more expensive at the factory (at the factory it is also in bags and very tasty, it was not in the store).
- Chocolate $ 5-7, you can take a sample, but very expensive. Everywhere.
- Sgara cream))) in the pharmacy $ 10 Nivea in the hotel from $ 20. You need a lot of it there, for a family of 4 people. at least 2 pcs. They burn up instantly. Egypt is resting in this regard.
The sockets in the hotel fit our plugs and everything works.
In their DutyFree rum, by the way, is cheaper, stacks of souvenirs are $ 3-4 in stores 5. There are no bazaars nearby.
Regarding excursions, we went with the Republic of PRO:
1. Were in Santo Domingo - super underground lakes, but museums do not work due to quarantine and therefore not very much. With museums it would be much better I think.
2. We went to Samana including a waterfall with horses - this is SUPER!!!
It's not in Anex.
3.
Saona and the City of Artists. The photo on the site is nothing. The city itself is a masterpiece every millimeter. You have to take it there separately to enjoy it.
Well, like everything.
And I want to share another impression about our Guides at the hotel.
1. In America, the sockets are different from ours (and the voltage) - and when they asked about adapters for them, they said that they had to buy it somewhere, and then it was pure luck. The people who flew with us were not afraid to plug our plugs into their sockets, they tell us that in this hotel they are universal and fit our equipment completely and that everything works. How can the people who work in this hotel DO NOT KNOW THIS!!?
2. The hotel hosted various fitness activities, etc.
The guides did not offer us timetables for them and did not tell us anything about them. We accidentally learned about them from a hotel employee who recorded us in restaurants and gave us a printout of these events.
3.
Also, we were not told about the SPA, which we could use on the first day.
4. For that, they played with us in the store and did not forget to tell us about everything that we can buy from them!
5. And it generally killed. I have never seen such a bestial attitude and have not heard from anyone else.
We bought excursions from another company. The check-out was early and we had to take lightboxes with us because we didn’t have time to have breakfast. When we approached our guides and asked about it, and they found out that we didn’t buy excursions from them, they answered us very worthily - THAT IN THE DOMINICAN THERE IS NO CONCEPT OF LUCKBOXES AND IN HOTELS THEY DO NOT GIVE THEM HERE AT ALL !!!
IN THE DOMINICAN, ALL HOTELS GIVE LUCHBOXES and again they were offered to us without any problems by another hotel employee. And I was very surprised by this behavior of OUR GUIDES.
The food in the restaurants is varied, every day there was seafood, on the 4th day of rest we could no longer look at them, we just overate! We have traveled many places, and we know how it is when it’s not tasty in a hotel, but here for the first time we realized that everything that we don’t try from food is delicious, without exaggeration! The location of the hotel is very cool, in terms of the fact that there are no waves on the beach, and it will be comfortable to relax on the beach with a child (in the last photo, a view from a helicopter to the hotel, you can see that the waves do not reach the shore). Our friends went to rest in the Rio Republica hotel - and there are waves, which creates discomfort. Therefore, if for someone this is an important point, pay attention! I also read reviews that the staff is very slow, and even for a tip they are in no hurry to do anything, pure LIES! There has never been an internal discomfort that a person wants a tip, the Dominicans, of course, are slow by nature, but everything was brought quickly enough and all wishes were fulfilled.
By the way, there was one situation that I want to share with: once again, having forgotten the mask in the room (the current realities of the 21st century), I returned to pick it up, and leaving the room, I did not completely slam the door, and the room remained open wide open for about an hour and a half . Returning to the room, I was shocked that it was open, we began to check if all the things were in place, and, how good it was, that nothing was missing, which we were very happy about! We were satisfied with the Dominican Republic, we want to come again and again, and I would even return to this hotel, we really liked it! Sincere thanks to the hotel for a wonderful stay!
Great, clean, spacious room. And the jacuzzi on the balcony is beyond praise. Cleaning was done every day at lunchtime. Bathrobe, slippers, soapy water, jacuzzi foam - in general, the whole set of a super-class hotel. The safe worked. The fridge is full, nuts, coffee, tea is also replenished constantly. The bed is white and the towels are changed constantly. We put 100 points for the number. The territory of the hotel is a separate topic for description. Hugely well-groomed, palm-flowered, snow-white sand, azure enveloping. We walked a lot around the territory and enjoyed the cleanliness and beautiful flower ensembles. We understood how much effort was invested in order to keep it all in proper order.
The ocean. . . turquoise, clean, warm. The algae were removed every morning, but during the voyage they were again inflicted. But this did not spoil our stay at the beautiful beach. There are no umbrellas, but believe me, they are absolutely not needed. There are enough palm trees and enough space for everyone under the sun. The pools are clean, warm, but we preferred the ocean.
Nutrition is a separate issue. Chic. The breakfasts are wonderful. Vega and meat salads. Eggs - from poached to... Juices only freshly squeezed. Baking with heat and heat. Dinners. Right now I am writing and remembering the variety of dishes and the beauty of serving. But dinners, this is a separate topic for conversation. Every evening we visited A la carte. I don’t know who, how and when taught these talented people how to cook, serve and serve customers so deliciously, remains a mystery to me. Steak bar! So this is not meat on a plate, you can eat it with your lips. Spanish! Believe me, I have never seen such a serving of Gazpacho soup in ice form. Yes, except for the soup. Italian! Well, each portion is simply a work of art. And now for a Japanese snack. Oh those Asians. Won't they steal a piece of your heart. How these guys juggle knives, how they set fire to cooking surfaces and lay out the heart or fish from rice and vegetables. So this is a must see. 100 points for food.
And the golf courses are vast and very well maintained, but I really forgot the name of our coach. So with him you can go to the World Cup in a year. Many thanks to all the staff of the hotel for a wonderfully organized holiday. Thank you so much for your work for our relaxation. You are the best. For those who think that maybe this is our first hotel holiday. Miami, China, Cambodia, Europe, I will not list. Believe us, we are tourists with experience. I forgot about flamingos. It's a fairy tale!
Good rooms, excellent food, huge territory (there was where to walk with a stroller)
Two water parks.
Bars.
Pools.
Territory 18+
The hotel is clean, all sanitary standards are observed.
Room cleaning daily excellent.
Gorgeous beach.
Of the minuses: you don’t take food yourself (but because of quarantine it’s like that everywhere), there are no umbrellas on the beach (it was enough under the palm trees, but there weren’t enough umbrellas).
And this is probably all the cons.
The hotel has a lot of shops, including duty free.
There are 5 restaurants a la carte Italian, French, Japanese, Mexican, steak house.
A wide variety of fruits, fresh juices, seafood, cocktails.
Quality alcohol.
In all rooms there is a jacuzzi on the balcony, this is a separate fat plus.
There are a lot of artists resting in hotels, which means they are really good.
I definitely recommend.

"-":
- Already a little tired rooms and main areas.
The choice of food is not too wide, but you will not stay hungry, without frills. There are seafood.
Rooms: we have a junior suite, they are all the same - two beds, two sofas, a table, two washbasins in the room, shower and toilet plus a terrace with a jacuzzi. We were lucky - you can see the sea a little from the side.
Weather
We have a rest in January, we arrived on December 30, it has been windy for 4 days, yesterday it was raining, not hot. The sea is cool, loners swim, it’s dirty from the sand near the shore, and then it’s a beautiful turquoise color / we saw turtles from the shore there.
The biggest disappointment, except for the cold sea, is the pools: all of them are waist-deep, about a meter, and they are even colder than the sea, they have not heard about heating. Arrived as a result, basking in the jacuzzi in the room on the terrace overlooking the palm trees - a shame.
In connection with the lockdown in the Dominican Republic, the ban on leaving the house after 17 on weekdays and on weekends is NOT ALLOWED TO LEAVE THE HOUSE after 12 - the entire wealthy population has filled hotels, color is guaranteed, with locals also in priority in serving at a bar or restaurant.
If we knew these nuances, especially for the cold sea and the pool, we would choose a hotel with a heated pool, or all the same, Sri Lanka or Egypt from the countries available now for Ukraine. They are also much cheaper in cost.
