Paphos Paphos
we took a last minute trip in June 2017, I liked the hotel right away, I have been to many hotels, but for the first time in a room the size of a two-room apartment, two rooms, a large corridor, a kitchen, a bathroom and 8 meters balcony, the air conditioner worked fine only in the living room , but at night they opened the door to the balcony and it was normal, the kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need, they cleaned every day, we only had breakfast, and they are excellent. The location is also not bad. There is free WI-FI on site, the speed allows you to talk on Viber , hair dryer, iron-free of charge. I can safely say that I would like to return to this hotel.
prices in stores for products are quite real, for example, meat for barbecue - 2.3 euros / kg. only I ask you, do not burn the island when you fry the barbecue, they have special places for this. You can rent a car for 25 euros. for at least three days, with scooters - a problem in Ayia Napa, I took a scooter for 10 euros / day. I didn’t find it in Paphos for less than 25 euros, let them ride them themselves.
The sea in Cyprus is a separate issue, if you are told 50 meters from the sea, this does not mean anything, as I already wrote in Cyprus, the problem with entering the sea, you can contemplate the sea, but in the input, not with your foot, from our hotel is not in a hurry step was 15 minutes. to the beach where it was not a bad beach, I also recommend Alykes Beach not far from the port in the very center, the water temperature is -28 degrees, in the port it is not much colder somewhere around 23-25, which is much nicer when it's hot, for romantics- The best views of Paphos and the sunset are Musa cafe, there is an observation deck.
Now about Paphos, I liked the city, for lovers of attractions, there is something to see for three days, an archaeological museum, catacombs, royal tombs, several interesting churches, a picturesque port, concerts are given on the embankment. Bus fare 1.5 euros/time or day pass 5 euros. but I want to note these prices apply to the entire Paphos area, that is, I recommend taking a bus - the village of Kouklia, the stone of Aphrodite, the port and village of Latchi, the baths of Aphrodite, etc. and all this will cost you 5 euros per day. We took a tour of Kykkos-Trodos, traveled around three monasteries with ancient icons and one pretty village of Omodos, I have a lot of impressions, I recommend it to everyone, very beautiful views, we came across a guide Galina, just a walking encyclopedia around Cyprus, she told and showed everything - well done. For pilgrims or believers, the Kikkoks Monastery, and other monasteries, are very rich in terms of spirituality, for example, in Kikkoks we went into a room where the relics of many saints, such as Luke and John the Baptist, are stored, and this is freely available and there is no need to take a queue in three in the morning to bow, the icons are dated to the year 70 AD (almost 2000 years). Our tour operator, Anex, did an excellent job, the transfer and the hotel guide were great, and of course, thanks for the last-minute trip - 80 euros for a week. with breakfast.
