In June 2007, we went on vacation with my family (4 adults and 1 child of 6 years old) to Cyprus, Ayia Napa. Beautiful sea, magnificent beaches (not everywhere), good-natured local population, active nightlife in cities, as well as the opportunity to travel to Israel - these are the main criteria for which we chose Cyprus. There are, of course, a number of disadvantages, but they do not significantly stand out against the background of positive aspects.

We traveled with the tour operator "Solvex" (St. Petersburg). In general, there are no complaints against him, with the exception of the replacement of the hotel, as well as the poor awareness of his representatives (in Russia) about trips to Israel from Cyprus.

Initially, we chose the 3 * “NISSIANA” hotel, judging by the reviews, a wonderful value for money. However, upon arrival we were “pleased” with the lack of free places in NISSIANA” (and this despite the fact that we purchased tickets 2 months in advance!!! ). As a result, the mood was pretty spoiled on the first day.
In fact, moving to Aktea Beach Village turned out to be successful for us. We realized this the next morning. Firstly, the hotel is on the first line, i. e. on the seashore (unlike NISSIANA, located along the busiest highway of Ayia Napa. ). Secondly, there is a fairly quiet and calm area around - away from the road, and there are no crowds of hotels around. And, thirdly, AKTEA is one star higher, and its cost is correspondingly higher (400 EURO than NISSIANA).

The territory of AKTEA is not very large, but successful, everything is located compactly and to the point. Everything is neat, clean, trimmed and painted. The central building houses the reception and the restaurant. As we discovered later, this center is underground. The building houses a parking lot, a gym, a laundry room, and another swimming pool filled with water, but not working in the summer. The rooms are located in separate 2-storey buildings - buildings (for 4-6 rooms).
We had a two-room suite with two air conditioners and a built-in kitchen (stuffed with dishes, pans - for those who want to eat on their own). Everything is at the best level - the furniture is new, not shabby. Plumbing is good, the bathroom has a window. The floor is tile. The bedroom is large, very erotic bed. There is a large closet with a bunch of hangers and + a safe (who has ALL Incl. Safe for free). Spacious balcony, from it a normal view of the courtyard - well-groomed, all in flowers and with palm trees. There were rooms with a sea view, but it can only be seen from the second floor, because in front of the hotel there is a small stone hill of volcanic origin. The bulk of vacationers are family Englishmen and Russians. In short, I recommend this hotel to families and couples in love. Lonely youth will be bored in it.

The hotel, in my opinion, is well located relative to the city center.

Walking distance to the main crowd of discos and nightly hype is about 30 minutes. The only negative is that the hotel does not have its own equipped beach. Well, this didn’t really bother us, since on the one hand there is the most beautiful beach in Cyprus, Nissi Beach - 5 minutes on foot, and on the other hand, the beach of Pavlo Napa, Anonimous and Tasia hotels (a lame place - a paddling pool in one word). Nissi Beach is a truly heavenly piece of land. The color of the water seems unnaturally azure for the Mediterranean. (Great photos!!! ), white sand, and palm trees, palm trees. The bottom is very good, you can go far and there will be a knee, which is very convenient for vacationers with children. We were in June, so there were not so many people, a lot of free sunbeds (expensive), and lots of space in the sea. Remembering the central beach of Anapa (Russia), the beach of Ayia Napa seemed to me just wild and deserted. The water, as I said, is magnificent, warm.
However, June 28-29 brought some greenery and it was not very pleasant to swim, we had to look for areas of the sea without grass. We generally moved to the pool at AKTEA.

I’ll tell you about the pool separately - it’s not big, but there are a huge bunch of people who want to splash around and play with the ball. These are, as a rule, ill-mannered Russian children who seized upon such a miracle of civilization as a swimming pool and were in it from 09.00 to 20.00 without getting out!! ! There is a cafe by the pool, so I don’t advise you to eat at the tables located by the pool - there is a risk of getting a ball in the face or on your plate. The pool was the only negative of the hotel. Everything else is just AWESOME!! ! We liked the bar in which they poured cocktails and beer (For ALL Incl / - of course free of charge, for the rest - 2 Cypriot pounds, i. e. about 4 euros). So decide for yourself.

Cyprus is known to everyone for crazy price tags, ranging from simple toothpicks. Better take all inclusive, you won't regret it.
The food at Aktea is excellent. You can choose from pork, beef, chicken, seafood, lasagna and pizza. Vegetables, sauces, soups. Everything is very tasty and varied. There are fruits - melons, watermelons, apricots, plums, bananas, apples and oranges. Everything is ripe. For dessert, cakes and ice cream. Side dishes - all sorts of vegetables, carrots, french fries, rice, village potatoes. The restaurant sometimes turned on air conditioning and quiet music - it was comfortable. Wine excellent, beer normal. For those who like it hot - local brandy, tequila. There is vodka, though Russian vodka is better. The waiters are very friendly. We most enjoyed talking with Jack and Eve. At the reseption, I did not like the fat aunt - she seemed to us very dissatisfied. But the bald, bespectacled uncle was very sweet and amiable. The rooms were cleaned daily even though we didn't tip daily. Linen was changed every three days, towels - every day.

A lot of staff speaks Russian, so there will be no problems with the language barrier for vacationers at the hotel.

Animation corresponds to the contingent of guests. It repeats every week. It was a funny show of parrots, also Cypriot dances with glasses on their heads, a dance show of girls. Dancing with the kids every day for 40 minutes - an evening disc player in the company of two animators - a husband and wife from Bulgaria. During the day they organize tennis, pool, billiards. The woman does exercises and water gymnastics - she always has a lot of participants. This is the only hour of the day when there is no ball game in the pool. In and everything, in general.

I was very satisfied with our vacation. You can feel the civilization, the good attitude of the Cypriots, the absence of Russian haml and cattle, which is at every turn in Turkey. Everyone is happy with everything, there are no huge queues in the restaurant.
I advise everyone to relax in this hotel, you will not regret it, the hotel is really wonderful and hospitable. It fully justifies its cost. If I go to Ayia Napa, then definitely only in this hotel. I also recommend a trip to Israel, to the Holy Land. (the cost of a two-day tour is 300 euros).

I was already in Cyprus 5 years ago and once again I was convinced that although it is more expensive, it is much better than the same Turkey or Egypt).
