We chose the hotel ourselves based on reviews and recommendations, as well as the location and availability in the area of ​ ​ ​ ​ markets, shops, a bank, cafes, we were ready for any difficulties and stocked up: presents (chocolate, nail polish, beautiful rubber bands for hair, hairpins, lighters - handed out everything in a row, they don’t play a special role anywhere), wet wipes, electrical appliances from a 110V network, an adapter and even a mini transformer (this is important! because not all rooms have 1 socket for 220V, American plugs, mains voltage is 110V ), beach towels, a fishing rod, they took a long rope with them, detergents for the body, teeth and head, non-spill mugs, which turned out to be very necessary! All of the above has worked for us! Basically everything!
Vacation was a success!

We are satisfied, despite the little things: they didn’t clean the rooms well, but they cleaned and took out the garbage, they got into the queue for the entrance to the dining room for a couple of days (when family Cubans come for the weekend), but there was enough food for everyone - as much as they like, old furniture in the rooms, but the beds are quite comfortable and even covered them, if not made, there are no ropes on the balcony and nothing to tie them to, but we put chairs and stretched our rope brought with us between them.
Much more positive emotions and pleasures! What does it mean - who is warned is armed!
And now the recommendations:
1. Feel free to exchange currency for local cookies on the bus from the airport, because There is the most advantageous rate than anywhere else! Before the trip, find out the exchange rate in Cuban banks for foreigners to understand what will be offered to you on the bus! At the airport, you will be "robbed" in the currency exchange department! The course in different places is different (airport, hotel, bank). It's better to pay with cookies everywhere!
2. When checking in, give a present (2 pcs. , because usually 2 people at the reception) and choose building 33 or 34, or another, but away from the pool and reception, possibly with windows to the street, because. entertainment programs will be heard in the room or cheerful vacationers can disturb your sleep!
3. Ask for a room up to 3rd floor. inclusive, so that there are no interruptions in water supply, the water pressure is weak.
4. When checking in, immediately check the presence of hot water and the operation of the toilet bowl, hot water appears in the tap after 5 minutes of draining, and the toilet barrel is filled within 5 minutes.
5. Check the operation of the TV, air conditioning and the availability of working sockets in the presence of staff upon check-in, one socket was enough for us, because. We took with us an adapter and a pilot for 3 sockets. If you do not have time to check in the presence of staff, then before you settle down, still check the essentials and... run to the reception if something is wrong.

6. You can not leave tips or presents for cleaners (at your discretion), they will take them away, but they will not do anything more than their usual duties, i. e. they will remove the garbage in the basket, make the bed and maybe wipe the floor, which we noticed 1 time out of 10 days, and changed the bed and towels 1 time! All! Therefore, do not litter especially in the room! Keep clean! Although tips make Cubans more fond of Canadians who do not skimp on tips in currency or cookies!
7. Be careful in stores, look at the price tags, they cover them up and say the amount is 2-3 times more (we went to the nearest store for cigars, then we decided to take another look and on the way back in this store we were told the price was 2 times more, we bought at another store) You can go through several and choose the cheaper one. . . It's useless to argue, and not everyone can speak Cuban. . . The shops are empty, except for rum and cigars with cigarettes, there is almost nothing, the counters are filled with juice, water, some have something from the products... there are also few goods on the market, a lot of souvenirs.
8. Take places on the beach from very early in the morning, there are many sunbeds, they are of various modifications, free of charge, but there are a limited number of umbrellas made of palm leaves. Before breakfast at 6-7 o'clock in the morning we walked to the beach, left towels (which we prudently took from home on a trip) on the sunbeds and went to breakfast or somewhere else slowly.
9. The Internet in the hotel sucks, you buy a card and there are places where you can sit quietly, chat... best of all, there is a shop between the reception and the dining room, there are tables and chairs in front of it, that's where most of them sit with their phones! There is no Internet on the beach, but on the way to the beach there is a bus stop and there is a platform with benches, the Internet works even better there than at the Hotel, because. it's next to the telecommunications company building, usually people with phones sit there too.
10. Excursions are expensive! But it is much more interesting and cheaper to ride a retro car with your own Russian-speaking guide if the company is not large or find a couple for a joint trip.
