1. Weather.
2. Sand on the beach + clear ocean.
3. Alcohol, but for us this is not an argument.
4. Coffee.
5. Complete silence in the evening (sleeping buildings far from concerts), sleep could be good, but mosquitoes (see below).
What's wrong:
1. Food, everything is bad. Juices - chemistry with sugar, you can say no fruits, and vegetables too. Basically no Luke. Yes, in general, a complete mess. EVERYTHING IS BAD.
2. Sun loungers - more or less, but we clean ourselves from sand in the morning.
3. Umbrellas on the beach - old, low, sometimes crooked.
4. Rooms are not 5 stars. Far. There is only water in the minibar.
5. A deposit of 15 euros for towels is somehow low. When we checked in, we were TOLD "15 euros for towels", they wrote "1875 pesos" on a piece of paper. We took 5 towels. As a result, when returning the deposit, it turned out that they were returning not euros, but pesos. If you divide 1875 by 75 euros, you get a rate of 25. You can only exchange back at the airport - at 30.049. The total difference is 1200 rubles for renting beach towels in a 5-star hotel! Of course, there was no euro in the exchanger, only dollars. In the process of exchanging currency, the exchange office employee tried to cheat us for 500 pesos (21 usd).
6. The need to wear uncomfortable bracelets on your arm is not a sign of 5 stars. We took them off, but several employees who apparently considered themselves kings of the hotel tried to demand that we wear them. At the checkout, it turned out that we "should" hand them over. So, the only thing we have to do is send your hotel and all of Cuba with it to hell.
7. Mosquitoes, the hotel doesn't care about repellents at all, we are all bitten.
8. Internet - they give out for 5 hours, you run like a fool at the reception to renew.
9. The dishes in the restaurant are washed by hand, often dirty. And the employees themselves are also not clean. They wear a bunch of masks and demand from everyone, and when they take plates (for example, for soup), they put their thumb directly into the plate. This makes them more comfortable to hold.
10. Employees deserve a separate point - complete boobies, after 30 seconds they forget everything. It's massive. They just have problems with their heads.
11. These boobies don't know what "check your actions" is, so the meat is undercooked, the scrambled eggs are undercooked, etc.
12. I don’t know what they have here in the country, but with trembling hands they put sliced almost transparent sausage on us, as if we are taking away their last chance for life. And some slow down and do everything as if specifically for us to leave.
13. Somewhere we forgot a children's cap and a good medical fabric mask. Always got forgotten at the reception, this is in normal countries. Right there - if we forgot something outside the room - this is apparently the property of the hotel staff. We didn't receive anything. Now let's take care of our stuff.
14. If we said that today it is not necessary to clean the room, then they will not bring us water. Dumb.
15. There are no bottles of water anywhere, for water you have to queue at the bars.
So, we will never go to Cuba again.
For a day, we booked places where you can stretch your legs. Four places in the middle, they are automatically reserved for you on the return flight. But WARNING! The Cubans ripped off 100 euros from us for a VIP seat at the Airport, and not only from us, but also from other passengers. People managed to file a complaint with the flight attendants and the airport returned the money to them, and we said it was too late, when the plane door was already closed, and according to the law we were already on Russian territory and we flew with the return of the money. Moreover, they have the right to take money for seats only for those that are two at the window, and on which we sat, the payment does not apply, as if there were passengers with babies, we would have been transplanted anyway. In these places, cradles for babies are fastened. So don't get yourself into trouble.
The hotel is really the best on the coast. Paradise is near, we went along the coast to it, there is a cool territory, well, actually, everything that is cool there. Familiar guys from our hotel moved to Paradise for a week, what was our amazement that behind the beautiful territory there are such shortcomings as: animation-0, old rooms, bullshit of our compatriots, etc. etc. Therefore, we did not regret that we chose this hotel. When choosing, we rely on reviews, so I try to write myself. The food is excellent, the choice is chic, at the expense of alcoholic drinks of choice and quantity, the Dominican Republic is probably in the first place, but you can always find something to your liking. Any cocktails, but from experience I would not advise drinking a strawberry-type cocktail, there is only paint, our stomachs hurt on the second day. For my taste, Kokoloko was the best, it's like Pinocoloda, only it tastes better with cream. At the expense of theft, I would have heard about other hotels, but we also had a case, we never found my husband's socks. We would not have rushed, but it was these socks (bright, sporty, new, with rubberized soles) that we bought before leaving, he even managed to put them on once, did not disdain, took them. And I didn’t find my own cream either. Eyebrow paint was pulled away from acquaintances, moreover, without an oxidizing agent. Well, of course, no one raised a storm, this is not such a big loss. At the same time, the cook was always left and even the nail polishes brought for presents. The rooms are good. Removed normally.
So, if you miss some little things, do not pay attention and do not spoil your vacation, forgive them, they live very poorly. You will see all this if you just get into the city itself in the outback.
The area is beautiful, the beach and water are beyond competition. The beach line is not wide, but there was enough space for everyone, since the foreigners were all by the pool. Such clear and clean water is still in Mexico on the Riviera May. If you have cameras for underwater shooting, then it will not hurt either. On the beach, you will be served cocktails, and you will enjoy the beauty of the ocean. I won’t repeat about restaurants, this and others wrote.
Tours. We took a yacht for four individual tour. 110 cookies each ($110). They didn't regret it. The trip included: visiting dolphins, swimming with a mask, lunch with lobsters. We liked VERY, namely communication with dolphins. The yacht is chic, new, with all its might carries you across the ocean. . . just like in a fairy tale.
We went to Havana, to the Caribbean Sea, to the waterfall. But these trips were organized for us by a familiar Cuban. So I can only say that I liked everything.
The hotel is relatively new, that is, in the full sense of the word, it is not new, but not 25 years old either. The rooms are in good condition, the renovation of the hotel is good. The rooms are large, on request they even brought an ironing board and an iron. The mini-bar is replenished, there is no need to remind about this a million times, since the service in Cuba is good, the Cubans are very nice people.
The food was very good, the main thing was that there was a choice of meat and the dishes were not repeated for lunch and dinner. A chic beach and a wonderful green area, outside of which, however, you can find a lot of adventures...
Thanks to the travel agency Unitours, in particular the manager Nastya, for the advice to go to Cuba in this hotel.
The prices during this period - mid-December - were very reasonable, and we, taking advantage of the end of the year, finally took an unfinished vacation and waved for a chocolate tan and exotic impressions!
After Havana, which I wrote about in a previous review, we went to Varadero.
On the way, 3 hours, or a little less, it turned out to be a long way. And it's good that we first lived in Havana, and only then to the resort - I would not have survived such a tiring excursion. Yes, and in Havana, of course - now I understand this - you have to live in order to take a walk and stare at it all ! ! Words cannot be conveyed. In Varadero, of course, everything is more or less touristy, there is no such exotic.
So, about the hotel. I chose it based on the reviews, they were all good.
I wanted the hotel to be on the sea, the territory was spacious and there was a lot of delicious food and animation. Such a stupid fun holiday. It turned out that this is the case in almost all hotels, but in ours - especially!
The room was given in one of the houses, on the 1st floor. Our number was 1701. Walk 5 minutes to the reception. The balcony overlooked a clearing with hammocks - cool idea! He went out, lay down and lay down reading a book, when the din and fuss were fed up.
The room is large, in yellow and blue tones, swans are twisted on the bed from towels. There is everything - a mini-bar, and an iron with a board, in general, everything. The beds are big. No complaints. Air conditioning worked, plumbing ok.
The beach is wonderful. But in the morning and in the evening. There are a lot of people during the day. Everyone was stuffed like herrings in a barrel. Full of merchants of all sorts, tired a little. Cool birds flew in, such as pelicans. So funny, trained or something, I did not understand the meaning of their demonstration to tourists. Maybe another money making thing. In Cuba, in general, everyone earns as they can. Everyone is offering something.
There were no problems with food. Just in excess. You can eat around the clock - even at night. But, to be honest, I don’t seem to be a gourmet, but somehow it wasn’t very tasty. They don't know how to cook well. But I leaned on fruits! As they say, they were the best for the hostess!
Lots of cocktails. I tried the entire menu and realized that of all the huge variety, I love mojitos the most. He drank it for the remaining three days. And I even learned how to do it and now I try it at home myself!
An unpleasant surprise was that everything in the SPA center was scheduled for a couple of weeks in advance. We didn't get in!
The shows here are great. Not third-rate animation, but just good such productions. A huge room for a show. We went every evening, and always different!
In general, we rested for five. Despite some shortcomings, I recommend!
