This is my 44th country and 3rd in the Caribbean.
By Cuban standards, the hotel is excellent.
Pros:
+ nice staff
+ settled immediately and put on bracelets
+ check-out at 12, BUT the bracelets are not cut off and if you need to shed the room the price is 11 euros / dollars. per hour payment ONLY by card
+ wifi works well for free, they give it for 8 hours, then you come to the reception and they renew it for free, but the Internet constantly knocks out - this is a system throughout Cuba
+ well-groomed, blooming territory, the staff is constantly rustling, then tinting, then sweeping, then cutting palm trees, then planting something
+ dogs, birds and herons live on the territory - everyone feeds them
+ the food is super - everything is fresh and a great choice.
There are also ready-made dishes with sauces and grilled fish, shrimp (once there were even lobsters), 3 types of meat: chicken, pork, veal. Pizza station, pasta station, cheese station (there are both dorblu and brie), sausage station - and the quality is super, sweet station, fruit station (watermelon, pineapple - greenish, papaya, guava, carom - bomb) fresh juices 5 species, milk and natural ice cream are sure to have soup for lunch and dinner, a lot of side dishes with and without sauces, if you need something like that and it’s not there, you come up and say and they cook for you. I ordered a lobster for the last dinner, they cooked it for me and brought it for $ 29 (yes, even though Cuba loves the euro, the currency is the peso, but at the hotel you pay for services only with a card and they take dollars from it) - all drinks are of high quality and nothing do not dilute
+ there are 4 a la carte restaurants for free - I highly recommend signing up for them immediately on the first day of arrival, because they are very popular. You need to do this on the 1st floor where the reception is, at the other end of the hall, where you turn the cigar shop, go through souvenirs and there is a special room for recording in a la carte, we liked the Japanese one - this is a showkichen where the chef cooks rice, vegetables, shrimp and meat in front of you, and did not like the French - everything was not tasty, and there is 1 paid restaurant, when they set the table and serve seafood in the beach area.
+ there is a bar and a restaurant that works 24/7 there are all drinks and food (pizza, hamburgers, sandwiches, french fries, fruits, banana chips super snack, ice cream)
+ beach - it is wide, clean, fine white sand, gentle entry, clear water and unreal colors.
* high and low tides are almost invisible.
* there are kayaks and a catamaran for free 30 minutes per room and for 20 dollars per person a sailing catamaran trip with an instructor and swimming with fish
* flocks of seagulls live on the beach - they will be happy to eat your bread and pose for photos and videos
+ animation - these are very cool guys led by Lady Gaga, that's the name of the most active senorita.
animation both on the beach and by the pool and stretching and dancing and games and in the evening the SHOW is different and interesting
+ children - a lot of families with children - for them there is a playground with swings, slides, and a closed children. a club, and they also take out bees to the beach, etc. , and there are also animators for children.
There is also a minus in the hotel and this is an old room, BUT we remember that this is Cuba and everything here is not old, but RETRO : )
At the same time, all textiles are new. Rooms are cleaned every day. They bring 2 bottles of water in special mineralized containers with the date of working off.
I recommend this hotel for families and couples.
Do not forget to leave a tip and smile - then the rest will be 300%.
The sea is magnificent, there are enough places on the beach and in the restaurant. For drinks: wine, cocktails, rum. The coolest thing is the ANIMATION! A super team that entertains all day long: aerobics, dancing, volleyball, bingo, evening performances. Unrealistically positive people who love what is local and very cheerful, dancing is amazing, there are lessons for those who want to learn.
From entertainment outside the hotel: a tour of Varadero in a convertible, caves (were closed), Al Capone's house, a walk with diving. From the travel agency: a whole day on a catamaran and dinner with a show (did not go). By currency: dollar = euro. So it's probably better to take dollars.
The territory is large, quite green and well-groomed. There are of course its drawbacks, but in principle everything is tolerable. Everywhere was pretty clean. On the territory there were 6 pools, also quite excellent. Beach 1st line, also good.
We took food on the ol inclusive, quite varied. Absolutely everything suited. The food and service was up to the mark. Internet only by cards. But their animation was good and varied, and within 15 days the animation was not repeated. What we saw was quite interesting.
I liked the sea most of all, for which we went there.
Moreover, the logic is as follows: you came here, so you are a very rich person, and if so, share it! And it started: you approach the cook, who fries scrambled eggs in the morning, order him what to mix into it. He does everything, and next to him lies a paper or metal cookie on the table, like an invitation: do not forget to thank! It's the same when you want to have a smoothie made for you. On the tour, we were told that Cuba has the best coffee! So we are sitting at breakfast in a restaurant, the waiters carry coffee and milk in jugs and offer it with a sweet smile. We decided to try ...God, what did they do to him. The taste is as if a spoonful of instant coffee was stirred in a bucket of water and a glass of milk was added there. This swill, coupled with the service, also involves pulling the cookie. After we refused such a divine morning drink a couple of times, they stopped greeting us and paying attention to us: what's the point, they don't drink "coffee", they don't give cookies ...3.
And the fact that they are all damp and blackened does not bother anyone. Well, they threw it on the floor in the morning. We come from the beach, there are no towels, that is, our damp ones were collected from the floor, but they didn’t hang new ones. We went to swear, as a result, they reported it within two days. This despite the fact that every morning the maid was set aside for $ 1, and she beautifully made our stale bed for us. A separate story about shopping in stores. They fool our brother in black! That is, there comes a moment when you need to go to the store to buy goodies (rum, sweets, etc. ), it doesn’t matter in Varadero or in Havana, it’s all the same. You come to a store where about half of the goods do not have prices, that is, they are not indicated, but are in the head of the saleswoman. Looking at you, in particular that you are a tourist, i. e.
for them, the devil is not Cuban, they consider you to be in violation of all the rules of arithmetic, it is not customary to give checks (it is immediately crumpled by the cashier and into the basket) - and as a result, "get your gold" change and do not complain that it is so expensive. She has a salary of 15 cookies, and the rest is up to you. So I summarize: you need to go to Cuba once, Havana is very interesting! I don't plan to go there a second time. For a simple beach holiday, there are plenty of places with impeccable service. Cubans reacted very positively to Obama's announcement of lifting the blockade. They are waiting for an American tourist. God forbid, maybe the Americans will force them to love the tourist and not replace the service with its visibility.
