For a 3* hotel it's ok. Located on 13th street. Located across the road from the beach. Walk to the beach 5 minutes max. The hotel is located almost at the very beginning of the peninsula. There are many cafes, souvenir shops, etc. nearby (on the main road - 1ra avenue). You can get on and off at any stop. The bus stop is next to the hotel, which is very convenient. There is no Wi-Fi in the hotel and in nearby hotels too. There is a PC with wired Internet in the hotel lobby, the cost for 1 hour of use is from 4 to 8 cookies, depending on where you buy an access card, but there are no cards in the hotel itself. The hotel has a swimming pool (small), but there is usually no one there, because there is a gorgeous beach nearby. Animation is. In the lobby of the hotel every evening a local band sings (a man with very interesting and loud vocals), at least once, but worth a look.
Also, a show program on the terrace by the pool (songs, dances) - it can be interesting. There are no discos in the hotel and nearby, after 22.00 it becomes boring for nightlife lovers. Discos are a little further away. On 43rd street - Casa de la Musica - a disco for local Cubans, not very interesting, and the music is mostly salsa, on 62nd street - Havana club - the most fashionable, small club, where it is smoky inside, the main party takes place here. Then there is another club - Continental - it rarely works, but it's big, they don't smoke inside, different DJs come, but the music is not very good, depending on which party you get. The entrance is the same everywhere - 10 cookies.
There are few Russians in the hotel! There are also few young people! the main contingent of the hotel is Canadian pensioners (60% -70%)!
2. NUMBER.
My room was on the 1st (3rd) floor (1st floor-reception + lobby + pool, 2nd floor - restaurant, 3rd floor living rooms). Room 105. The room was overlooking the terrace, pool, restaurant. Each room has a balcony. The room is good, big.
The room has several mirrors, chairs, cabinets, a large wardrobe with hangers, a free safe. Furniture is not new, but not dead. The plumbing is very old, but since the room and the hotel were not a priority for me, this did not bother me. The drain in the toilet practically does not work (it works every other time), the bath and sink are normal, although the enamel is broken. If someone needs it, then the room has a TV and a Russian channel. The room is cleaned every day, and every day different figures are molded from towels and rugs. There is no refrigerator in the room. From soap-rylnyh only soap, shower gels and shampoos no. I was lucky and I had 2 European sockets in my room, though 110V - it charges twice as slowly, respectively, there was also a hairdryer. I know some rooms don't. In general, I am satisfied with the number. Nothing was missing from the room and the safe.
3. FOOD.
I had all inclusive (which is good, because eating in a cafe is not very cheap) Breakfast from 7-30 to 10-00, lunch from 12-30 to 14-30, dinner from 19-00 to 21-30.
I will say right away that if breakfast or lunch or dinner starts, then you need to go to the very beginning, because then something may end, but in the worst case, I went to dinner at 20-45, and the restaurant was already closed and only heard sorry...For three stars the food is not bad, there is always a choice: meat, fish, fruits, cheeses, sweets, ice cream, juices. By the way, almost everything is natural, without GMOs, although there are some nuances. In general, you won’t stay hungry, but in 2 weeks it all gets boring. moreover, it happens very often: you didn’t eat it for breakfast - finish it for lunch, if you don’t want it for lunch, then we will cut and fry and serve it for dinner ....- this happens often too ...Alcohol is poured both in the lobby and in restaurant (in the restaurant only beer and white / red wine). There is also a mini-bar from the hotel on the beach and it seems like on 15th street, but to be honest I have never been there.
4. BEACH.
It's inaccurate. There is no limit to admiration and joy. Water, sand .....Sunbeds free of charge on a bracelet from the hotel (from 9-00 to 17-00) There are enough sunbeds for everyone.
You can walk along the beach for hours...Cool! ! !
5. EXCURSIONS.
1) HAVANA. Very interesting excursion (price about $50). Visiting all the famous sights in old and new Havana - the Capitol, the E. Hemmingway hotel, the tobacco factory (very interesting) and much more. You can also go by taxi for about 70-100 kuk, depending on how you bargain with taxi drivers.
2) TRINIDAD (2 days) (price about $160). Excursion for two days with an overnight stay in a mountain hotel at an altitude of 800 meters above sea level. Trinidad is a very beautiful and unusual city. You can really feel the real Cuba there, it’s a pity that you are only in the city for a few hours. On the first day of the tour, we also visited the city of Sienfegos - also beautiful. On the way, the guide tells for each settlement and each tree - it is very interesting to listen to him. On the second day there was a tour of the Guanayara National Park with a visit to a cave and a waterfall, a lake where you can swim. Nature is very beautiful!
We also stopped by the city of Santa Clara, where we visited the mausoleum of Che Guevara (not the most interesting). I recommend this tour!
3) GUAMA (Indian village) (price is about $80). Not particularly impressed! Maybe because the guide was not very caught, or maybe because he compared it with previous excursions. We visited the village (swimming on the lake and canals on a motor boat). The village itself, in principle, does not represent anything. We also stopped at a farm where we looked at chickens ...after a crocodile farm (interesting! ), and after a bay on the Caribbean Sea (the most interesting thing in this excursion), where you can swim, swim in flippers and with a mask (given out for free), sunbathe about 3-4 hours. I do not advise. Money thrown away. not much of an impression...
4) CAYO LARGO ISLAND. (price about $280). Probably the most memorable. We flew to the Caribbean island in an airplane (for 40 people), in which there are only two windows (on board with passengers). Soviet-era aircraft and its condition - to a landfill! ! !
In general, you definitely get an adrenaline rush! ! ! Everything on the island is very beautiful. sailed on a yacht with stops on the island of iguanas, where they bask in the sun, they are of various sizes, on the shore you can find starfish - exotic no matter how ...then stop at the coral reef - where you can swim in fins with a mask and snorkel, get huge shells from the bottom. Further landing on the island. Snow-white beach and swimming about 4-5 hours + lunch. Eyes fall out and mind clouded with beauty. Very interesting and beautiful. I advise.
MY CONCLUSION: Cuba is a beautiful, poor, exotic, expensive for a tourist, unusual country. Hotel for one visit. If possible, the second time in this hotel would not go. Although its location is better than some 4 * and 5 *. It is not very profitable to change dollars, it is more profitable than euro. There is practically nowhere to pay with cards, when withdrawing cash from a bank + 3% to the withdrawn amount. Cubans are very friendly people.
The food is monotonous, but without chemistry (practically). Visiting the island of freedom at least once is a must! ! !
The hotel itself is not new, of course, but quite worthy. Everything works, the water is hot around the clock, the bathroom is tiled, the room is huge, with 2 balconies. The hotel also has a small swimming pool. Near it is an all-inclusive bar, and in the main hall there is another bar, but everything is already there for money, and everyone goes to this bar first, because. it's in plain sight, but it's free on the sidelines : ) Cocktails are awesome, they don't spare rum at all, they pour 90% of it, and they serve it in plastic cups. At first we were surprised, and then appreciated: you can take it and go for a walk wherever you want. There is a lot of food: meat is always 2-3 types, potatoes, cabbage is very fond of (and in all forms - boiled, fresh, stewed), fresh vegetables, salads, ham, pasta, always several types of juices for breakfast (very tasty! ) And cakes for lunch and dinner. And awesome ice cream.
Beach across the road, clean, with white sand and OCEAN! It's impossible to fall in love! The first couple of days we had a storm, it was impossible to swim - the Portuguese boats were thrown ashore, anyway it was beautiful, we walked along the coast and enjoyed it : )
Went to Havana (on our own) and a 2 day excursion to 3 cities (Santa Clara, Trinidad and Cienfuegos). We went to Havana by bus (10 cookies per person one way) - the bus runs 3 times a day (8 am, 11 am and 2 pm it seems to take 3 hours), we arrived perfectly, walked with a guidebook, examined Old Havana (where we got into the fortress in the tenacious paws of caretakers, who want up to 1 cookie for everything - from a tour in Spanish, which we don’t need, and ending with a paid descent from the bell tower, while also paying for the entrance to the fortress itself), central Havana with the Capitol and the theater (here they just conquered! ), drank daiquiri in Florida, and then got tired and got on a very comfortable 2-story tour bus plying around the city, and saw everything else that you must see in Havana, incl. and the famous Malecon. The city of opposites - very beautiful buildings and almost ruins nearby, moreover hung with a myriad of linen (i. e. people live in them), but there is some kind of romance in it, which you will not find anywhere else, and it is very captivating. The Cathedral is just amazing!
Well, a couple of days after the trip to Havana, we went on an excursion. I really wanted to see the Caribbean Sea (and for this you need at least a port on it, Cienfuegos), and Trinidad, as an example of colonial Cuba of past centuries. In addition, the tour included spending the night in the Escambray mountains (it was in them that Che was hiding), as well as a truck ride along them and a hike to the waterfalls - so at the same time the opportunity to explore nature. At first, the guide flatly refused to give the opportunity to swim in the Caribbean Sea (not included in the tour), but as a result, for the warm gratitude of the whole bus in the form of a small reward, the program was changed somewhat - instead of Cienfugos, we went to the beach and swam in the HOT water of the sea for 1.5 hours) Santa Clara is a curious place, Che Guevara and his comrades are buried here; further Trinidad - a picturesque town, wandered through the streets, examined the Romantic Museum (how the counts lived in Cuba), life and truth there as in the 18th century. Beggars strained a little (or rather, vparivatel of various beads, etc. for only 1 cookie) - it reminded Egypt with its "bakshish, bakshish" - but this is only on the main street, because. there are crowds of tourists. Cubans are mostly well-mannered, friendly people, with whom it is pleasant to deal with, there is no comparison with the Arabs. We looked at a cigar rolling master class, souvenirs in Trinidad turned out to be the cheapest.
The overnight stay at the hotel was calm, and in the morning we moved on ZILs further deep into the jungle : ) At first it was scary, but it was safe and there was a certain buzz, and then 3 km on foot along the path to the mountain lake and waterfall. Along the way, they tell (and show) what kind of plants are found: amoretto, agave, some other mahogany, and also saw hummingbirds, vultures - in a word, very picturesque! Then lunch (quite dense) and go swimming! Having bathed, we went back and managed to have dinner at the main hotel. In general, there were so many different impressions from this excursion that when we returned to our room, there was a strong feeling that we had just come home from vacation : ) We saw nature, cities, the life of the Cuban hinterland, in a word, we managed to feel the country! The remaining 3 days were spent on the beach, swimming in the azure ocean. We flew back on a night flight, the food was better (thanks to the Cubans! ) than when we flew TO Cuba. This country, and the region as a whole, fascinated me, so the minimum task is to expand the geography of travel also to the mainland of South America!
Umbrellas, sun loungers on the beach - free of charge.
Safe - free of charge (available in all rooms, including bungalows).
They don't ask for a deposit for a towel. Just write down the room number and name. Responsible animator.
There are no refrigerators in the rooms.
Rooms.
The hotel has 8 floors. 1st lobby, 2nd restaurant, 3rd-6th floor (this is the numbering) - rooms.
Some rooms overlook the city and the ocean, others overlook the courtyard and the city.
We were settled immediately on the 6th floor overlooking the ocean, without additional payments and any wishes, and also kindly then moved to a bungalow. More on this later.
The rooms that overlook the courtyard have windows with wooden shutters (because some people write that there are no windows).
Bar.
There is no interior area. Bar, pool, stage. And very compact and green. Evening animation can be watched both from the bar and from the pool)))
The bar has great, friendly bartenders. All in. ends at 12 midnight, alcohol only. Drinks, sandwiches around the clock.
The bar has a delicious cappuccino.
Restaurant.
Yes, it resembles an office canteen, but it didn’t seem like a disadvantage. The food is typically Russian. There will be no stomach problems.
From +: breakfast fresh juices (guava, mango, orange) from the cooler unlimited. Very relevant, for those who have been cubing up since the night)))
Ice cream is delicious for lunch and dinner.
Fruits (April) - guava, papaya, pineapple, oranges, bananas, grapefruits (slices). Whole - oranges, bananas.
Beach bar + beach.
Bar a meter from the sun loungers, until 17.00. Sun loungers until 18.00, after they are collected (after 30-40 minutes sunset).
On the beach there are lifeguards from the hotel, a security guard. They are entertainment. The music is there, if the pennies don't mind.
The beach is gorgeous, fine, almost white sand. The entry into the ocean is smooth. The water is clean and fantastically beautiful. The coast is clean - no corals, no vegetation and fauna. Yes, there are jellyfish. They are thrown ashore in the morning with a very strong wind from the reef. The reef is far away. And this is rare. I didn't see them on the beach. Infa according to the rescuers.
To the beach from the room 1min by elevator to the 1st floor, then 3-4 minutes down the street to the sunbed.
The beach is municipal (clean and safe, no one bothers). We left a bag with equipment on the sunbeds, no problem.
The location of the hotel. Shop prices.
Very comfortable. Located in the city on 12th street. There are 4 shops on the way to the beach. Cafes, restaurants with live music everywhere. On the 3rd day, you will already sing along to the quantum number with them. On both sides there are markets with souvenirs and other local products. On the beach, do not buy rum is more expensive than on the main street. Cigars are cheaper in Havana, rum and coffee are the same (in a dutik in Havana, it is 2-3 euros more expensive). Of the Roma, the best is Havana Club 7 years old (0.75 costs 8 cookies, in Moscow 1500-2500 thousand). Blanco - 3.85 cookies per 1 liter. Tequila Almeca 11 cookies. Where there are no price tags, stickers, prices go up.
Currency.
CARRY MONEY IN EURO. Dollars are subject to a 10% commission. The best rate at the airport.
They also change at the reception. The currency is called the CUC, the convertible Cuban peso. 1 CUC - $0.8 and 1.
1 euro. Visa, Mastercard credit cards are in use. Cards issued by American banks are not serviced (American Express, City Bank).
Electricity.
The mains voltage is 110 volts. The plug is flat, an adapter is needed. The maids have it.
Do not be lazy and buy in advance. The adapter does not hold the plug. We put maximum ingenuity, winding the plug to the adapter with a children's hair tie.
Equipment charges quickly, just as quickly sit down. The fotik was charged from a laptop, or in the lobby from a computer.
Tours.
Their mass. Bright, colorful. Find out on the spot.
The cost was a surprise. Havana Historic Center for one day 60 cookies. So plan your budget ahead of time.
And do not go to the corals (carried to the village of Carbonera). THEY ARE NOT THERE.
Amazing trip to Trinidad for 2 days. Mountains, clean air. Guides speak Russian.
Bungalow.
We moved into the bungalow after 3 days. Russian guys left. Went to reception. They handed over the keys to the bungalow, pointed to theirs and said yonder chench. All.
The houses are located on the beach itself. On the left side of the beach, if you walk in a straight line from the hotel. At the entrance to the house on the porch there are a table and benches. Cozy rooms. Soft wicker furniture in the lobby. Everything looks very decent. Hairdryer, safe. There is no refrigerator. It is only on the first floor. There is a mini kitchen (bar counter, table, no stove). Bungalow is designed for 8 rooms, 2-storey house. The front door is closed at night, there is security.
Again very lucky with ocean view. 7th room with a terrace to the ocean, 6th side (ours) to the ocean and a neighboring house. I can confuse the numbering. Terrace language does not dare to call a balcony. Everyone scared mosquitoes with a fist, they were very upset when they left, they never saw them. Don't open the windows and take the raptor. The air conditioning in the room was bad. They left it on all day, turned it off at night, slept sweetly.
What to bring.
Matryoshkas can be exchanged for lobsters)))
Sun protection creams (local non-water resistant), and, Ladies, take all the stuff with you. In Cuba, communism and in pharmacies there is nothing. Spray-foam Panthenol from burns is a must.
Entertainment. Animation.
There is no animation on the beach. The pool is standard. In the evening, Cuban dances (very cool), competitions. There are no discos in the hotel. But there are plenty of clubs for different tastes. From traditional with local music to European ones.
Of the clubs, I liked the Havana Club. The audience is tourists and locals. Everything is worthy, the music is a mixture of Cuban and European club.
There are plenty of restaurants, there is even a Thai one. Taxi 5 cookies per car. Bargain.
The public in the hotel.
Canadians, Europeans, Russians. There aren't that many. In the evenings, flocks gather at the bar. We had a very sincere company))) There are few families with children, I would say there were practically none. There are many pence from Europe, most of them.
Yes, and do not believe that the hotel is rotten. Met the guys from the 5 * hotel. There is a rotten one.
All 3 * are located in the city, 4-5 * at the end of the island, where in the evening life stops and there are no Russians with whom you can drink medicine from boredom from duty free.
Our holiday was a success. Do not sit in a hotel, rent a car, bike, scooter. Meet, hang out. And you will be happy)))
So short))) Enjoy!

They say that Cuban cigars are one of the prerequisites for long life. . .
