Hotel ratings by criteria:
We rested in Hainan at the PEARL RIVER GARDEN hotel. I want to warn you that September-October is the season of typhoons, one of which "Lekima" raged from 1 to 3 October.

And now everything is in more detail:
Upon arrival at Sanya Phoenix Airport, we were immediately given raincoats, put on a bus and driven to the arrivals hall, here, as usual, they filled out migration cards, but that was not all: everyone must fill out a declaration, regardless of whether they import you enter the territory of China the amount of money to be declared, etc. They don’t stamp the passport either at the entrance or at the exit from the island (to be honest, it’s not clear why, by the way, you need to fill out the declaration again when leaving).

It takes about half an hour to get to the hotel, at this time the guide Lilya (Chinese) told a little about the island and the upcoming excursions. Upon arrival at the hotel, you do not need to fill in anything, the employees at the reception will do it for you, they will immediately issue the keys to the rooms in the form of plastic cards.
The ticket price includes 2 dinners costing 88 yuan, there is no need to pay extra for them. On the first day, the guides will offer you to dine at the Dragon Park restaurant (cost 250 yuan per person), you should go there to find out the features of the local cuisine, as a rule, this dinner is ordered for a group of 8 or more people, since the number of dishes offered will be huge (more than 20), with an unlimited number of drinks, such as juices, beer, vodka, various lemonades.

ABOUT THE HOTEL although it is written in all booklets that the staff is Russian-speaking, this is not so: knowledge of the language consists in the words “hello”, “thank you” and “goodbye”, no one speaks English either, so explain yourself with gestures and leave everything Russian at home -Chinese phrasebooks, they still won’t understand you, because in Chinese one word has a lot of meanings depending on intonation.

ROOM FACILITIES: All rooms are good, but not all with sea view.
Free of charge: 2 bottles of water, toothbrushes, disposable razors with shaving gel, toothpaste in small tubes that are applied daily, soap, shampoo, shower gel, shower cap, cotton swabs, band-aid, nail file, electric kettle, safe, hair dryer, bath and face towels that are changed daily, beach bag, flip flops and bathrobe (one-size-fits-all), beach towels, TV with 3 Russian channels, line for drying clothes. For a fee: the contents of the refrigerator, tea bags.
Bed linen is changed every 3 days, and curtains and curtains in the bathroom are changed every few days.

BREAKFASTS: disgusting, but not only in this hotel, but in all, it seems that the entire island is busy with hotel food!

You will be offered dishes such as: "fish cakes", "rye bread", "clubbing bun", jelly called "Carrie", boiled cauliflower called "Rotukva", "Light milk", coffee, tea, poor selection fruits, consisting of watermelons, melons and pineapples with salt, scrambled eggs, very fatty bacon, fresh cucumbers and cherry tomatoes, 4 types of juices: tomato, coconut, pineapple and apple. Unlike all this food, pastries are very tasty, so you can have breakfast.

DINNERS: The hotels are expensive, so it is better to go to Peking Duck, Tavern or Harbin, you can also visit the bakery located next to the shopping center.

BEACH: excellent sandy, the sea is clean and warm, although during the storm it smelled a bit of fish. Sunbeds by the sea are paid - 20 yuan, free by the pool. An escalator will take you to the beach directly from the 3rd floor of the hotel. You can take any swimwear you like, the main thing is not to sunbathe topless.
MONEY: They don’t like euros in Hainan, so it’s better to take dollars, the rate is 7.42, if you change at the hotel, then no more than 200 from the room will be changed per day, the exchanger is open from 8:30 to 10:30 and from 17:30 to 19:30, it is not profitable for guides to change, although in the first days it will seem that there is almost no difference, because with $ 100 you lose 1; there are a lot of formalities with exchangers in banks: you need to fill out a lot of forms, you will be checked on a computer for a long time. ONE MORE FORMALITY: on the whole island, the currency is changed only with a passport (including at the hotel).

EXCURSIONS: the best one is the Center of Buddhism, it’s very interesting and beautiful, but it’s best not to take it from guides, but to go by taxi yourself, because no one gives special information, they don’t tell much, besides this excursion there are a number of others, too very interesting, such as: monkey island, animal world, snake farm, etc.
PEARL: Sold at every turn: merchants walk the streets and the beach, you can buy from them, but be careful, it can be powdered, but in most cases, it is, so to speak, waste from factories (irregular shape, half and slightly non-standard), bargain with them and drop the price they named at least 2 times, you can also find a fake in factories, but no one will tell you about it. It is best to take products from stores, good quality and cheaper price than the factory.

You can buy pearl cosmetics at the factory or in any store, there are no fakes and the prices are almost the same everywhere. There are also very good creams based on shark sperm, but you can only buy them at the shark factory.

CENTER OF CHINESE MEDICINE "GARDEN OF LONGEVITY" do not waste precious time and money on the so-called treatment, believe me there is no improvement after it!
The next day after your arrival, you will be offered a free consultation by an “experienced” doctor who will measure your blood pressure, pulse, ask about your illnesses, and then say (and the same thing to everyone) that, due to the nature of the pulse, you have a lack of energy in your heart and spleen, prescribe appropriate treatment. There were 8 people in our group and everyone was given a similar diagnosis, and the price of treatment was from $ 800 and more. Chinese massage is done by students: you will be put on silk shorts, a bathrobe on top, covered with a terry towel and through this outfit they will massage, you see, a strange way of massage. Many had a terrible allergy to herbal preparations, so don't risk it!

ENTERTAINMENT: there are none on the island, so party lovers will have nowhere to put themselves.
And in conclusion, I want to tell you a little about the typhoon: Chinese weather forecasters are excellent, they were able to predict the beginning and end of the elements up to the minute: the hotel took appropriate security measures: in rooms with balconies and sea views, balcony doors were walled up with macroflex (it was possible to open them on your own impossible), all exits to the sea were walled up, the main entrance to the hotel was barricaded so that it could hardly be found, they gave out umbrellas for rent, and bags in which you could put a wet umbrella. The guides delivered fruit to our room, thinking that the people were frightened, they would not be able to go outside and would be left without dinner, but it wasn’t there, we are Russians)))) therefore, even though there was water knee-deep, our group still went to a restaurant, and how not to go outside in such weather, it’s interesting, we don’t have such a thing! But soon it all ended and the next day the sun was already shining)))

Here is such an interesting vacation, if you have any questions, ask, I will be happy to answer! )))
