Good morning, good afternoon and good evening everyone!

We rested at the Edelweiss 4 * hotel on the north side of the Golden Sands resort with a company: three adults and two babies aged 3 and 4. I’ll write right away - I fell in love with Bulgaria once and for all during her last visit. Wonderful beaches, delicious sour-milk cuisine, roses , spices and, of course, the Black Sea.

I liked the hotel very much. Not with chic and "show-off", but with its location, its privacy. the hotel. Souvenir shops, there were fewer cafes. Or did it seem to us for joy? ! Of course, when choosing magnets, we got tired: they say the choice of souvenirs is quite small, we are not used to this... An urban habit! We bought magnets, and rakia with mastic, and pink cosmetics, sharena salt and local sea salt in the mills and many other souvenirs. Speaking of shopping, pay attention to the suitcases. We bought ourselves a second one in Bulgaria! More than half cheaper than in our hometown. And it's even cheaper in Varna le.

The hotel stands on the outskirts, surrounded on all sides by forest. For its privacy and comparative distance from the sea, it pays with the presence of stairs down to the beach. We never found a way through the Berlin hotel : ))) . We used the stairs, which is to the right of the hotel. Well, what can I say? Our girls never asked for handles when climbing. not steep and not solid. (I’ll attach a photo of the most difficult and most part of the stairs) It’s not for you to go up and down Fiolent! In addition, for greater convenience, a Mercedes minibus runs from the hotel every half an hour. Free, by the way. But for some reason few people use this service. We ourselves drove 4 times. And even the schedule is at the reception...

The hotel is built in such a way that really from any room at least a piece of the sea is visible. We lived in a standard room on the second floor with a balcony above the terrace by the pool and in a standard room on the fourth floor with a wonderful view of the sea. At first there were more pensioners than of all the other tourists - the silence in the evenings and nights was perfect. Then, of course, the youth also pulled up. It became a little more fun, but also much noisier. )) It seems to me that when staying in any hotel you need to be prepared in advance for the "culture" of vacationing neighbors. But on the second floor there are separate balconies (on the first floor - solid) and concrete fences (on the fourth it is very beautiful, but the fence is a lattice. This is for my phobias of heights - just deadly)

The hotel, like everything else in Bulgaria, does not have its own territory, but... Somehow it is so blocked from all sides that the feeling of this very territory appears from the very first minute. Even we, very vigilant parents, could afford to relax a little - the child will not run away anywhere and always in front of our eyes. Our daughter just went crazy from the feeling of freedom, partially getting rid of parental care : )))

I also liked the service very much. The maids cleaned every day. Even the balcony was vacuumed. The towels in the bathroom were also changed every day. The shells collected by my daughter were laid out by the maids in a flower. The waiters are attentive and unobtrusive. - He fixes the sunbeds, umbrellas, the pool constantly and periodically cleans up. All the staff lisped with our child as if they were their own!

But what really surprised us was the presence of detailed animation. Not creative, very simple and without much fanfare, but thanks to the personal qualities of the animators, it’s very pleasant. leisure time. We once went to morning gymnastics at 10.00, to water gymnastics at 16.00, played the games "who will get more spoons from the pool", "who will get ice into the bucket through spitting", "who will hit the target with a slipper" and the like in the same spirit. We played darts, watched water polo every other day. In the evenings, with great pleasure, my daughter was going to a children's disco at 20.00. We went 3 times to an adult at 21.00 (note that this is not a nightclub! moods - the hits of the very last years sound) We played bingo and the music quiz was very exciting and reckless. clay figurines. By the way, the last one costs 12 lev. Usually Sylvia is looking for her parents and asks permission to paint the figurine. But our beauty so quickly attacked to paint the bear's muzzle green that we had to pay for this entertainment after the fact : ))) children simply did not give the animators a pass. The guys even in the dining room could not eat calmly - the endless flow of children to say hello "to their friend" simply did not dry up! All events are interesting and in high spirits, as they say. For those who spend a lot of time directly at the hotel - a necessary leisure point. We are used to spending our holidays more actively. But....

We were probably unlucky with the weather. The Bulgarians said that they had such a cold summer already in 1953! , and what a number of shells were found and forced to bring home!... ) The evenings are cool - 18 degrees. ) just didn’t climb out neither adults nor, especially, children. But they could afford (without heat it’s easier) a couple of independent trips to Varna (market, zoo, amusement park) and to the neighboring resort of St. Helena and Constantine (the current monastery of the same name - a place of pilgrimage for believers - a source of holy water right under the altar, and a few particles of very powerful relics; and also visited an eco-park with a beautiful rose garden). Balchik from the yard tsom and botanical garden, Nessebar, water park on the territory of Golden Sands, Aladzha rock monastery with a light show on weekends, the ruins of Roman baths in Varna, a weak, but still dolphinarium in the same place, maritime museums, archaeological)

Gasoline in Bulgaria is half as expensive as in Ukraine. Therefore, even urban transport has risen prohibitively. Travel to Varna is 3 leva per person. To St. Helena and Constantine 1.60 lev. Entrance to the ecopark is 2 lev. and the dilphinarium the price of entrances is not big enough. (course 1 lev = 6 hryvnias)

The safe in the hotel is paid - 35 lev per week. Pay attention - the safe is in the room at the reception (and not in the room) and this is a cell (documents, a tablet, an e-book will fit, but a SLR camera will not)

We also paid for a week of using the Internet at the hotel - 20 lev. I don’t. Understanding this, unfortunately, came after pretty frayed nerves during fruitless attempts to contact someone via Skype. Conclusion: paid, of poor quality and, in fact, not necessary!

the hotel also provides many beauty treatments. All paid - did not look, do not know, did not interest. We played table tennis with pleasure (for free). We played billiards - an American. One game costs 5 levs, if I'm not mistaken.

Now about food. We took breakfast and dinner. This does not tie you to the hotel at lunchtime and makes it possible to get acquainted with the national cuisine in many colorful cafes. You could also buy lunch at the hotel on the spot. "all inclusive" - even more expensive, of course. For comparison: we dined at "Hemus" (along the highway towards Varna, 2 hotels from ours) the menu there is not extensive, but to dine and try something national is enough. With chic for 2 adults + child sat for 20 lev (they took beer, soup, national bread and fried shark), and more modestly - up to 12 lev. This cafe is really a little cheaper than everything on the coast. Parents, keep in mind - children eat very little on vacation This is normal, especially since once every 2 days at a dinner for zhor they still break through : ))))

We were quite satisfied with the food. Broste is a stone to me, who cooks about 20 types of dishes at home for dinner! Periodically, the dishes changed according to the season. . Daughter invariably asked for chocolate balls with yogurt (sour milk is a unique Bulgarian product), my husband experimented, varied everything that was available, but I could not refuse local cheese (who tried cheese in a plastic bowl of the "President" company will understand me! ), local as well as tomatoes (they have a taste! ) And salty olives. And to completely show what kind of insatiable gluttons the Slavs took croissants with cappuccino. At home, my breakfast is limited to a buter and tea! coffee and tea, there are exactly the same drinks - you can’t see the filth in them, therefore, they didn’t notice (after reading the reviews they took their own tea and coffee, but they never used it)

What I didn’t like was the forced “hunt” for sweets! In the mornings for croissants (especially with chocolate) in the evenings for fruits and cakes. my daughter saw the berries - she cheered in her hands with joy, but she didn’t get anything... I didn’t like the change of dishes during dinner either: they don’t even change for equivalent ones! Somehow it was disorienting. We didn’t have enough hot drinks for dinner. I simply don’t allow my family to drink a la “Jupi”. At the end of the holiday, we adapted for dinner to carry hot drinks from the lobby bar : ))))

Everything worked in the room, everything was intact. We heard, of course, that there was no water on the upper floors one morning, that someone’s front door fell off or the shower did not work. It’s understandable: this is a hotel, not a nursing home! But the masters are on duty at the hotel (we saw two permanent ones) - they quickly try to fix the problems.

Our kids stably refused dinners. Therefore, we, adults, sometimes survived with "pasture" food: we bought local lukanka sausage. It costs an average of 4 leva. some local seasoning (oregano or something... ) we didn’t like this seasoning at all, so we ate cutlets already at home, in Ukraine : )))) Water 5 liters costs 3 leva with kopecks, a small bottle - 0.80 leva. Cherry and apricots at the resort were bought for children for 3 leva a large glass, in Varna 2.40 leva - a kilogram in the market. And a little more about the prices... A train along Golden Sands - 3 leva one way per person, in Varna Seaside park from the zoo - 1 lev. Trampoline on Golden Sands - 6 lev 15 minutes. In the amusement park in Varna, if I didn’t forget, the child jumped 2 levs until we ourselves got tired of it (somehow the park employee didn’t keep track of time) so decide for yourself where and how to entertain your kids. On the beach, toilets are paid - 1 sunbeds and umbrellas too - this was written in detail. But there was enough space - on the north side of the resort, the width of the beach is the largest, as it looks : ))))

And do not forget to check the departure time before leaving (if you get by plane) our flight was postponed 3 times! And even the guide did not have the information - they accidentally learned from neighboring tour operators, they themselves informed our guide (it just happened) We flew with the "Wind Rose". In the plane they didn’t feed - only juice. tea. coffee. mineral water. Flights were transferred in both directions and in one day! Everything worked out, but they could have suffered with children... In Borispol they weighed suitcases for free, in Varna - 1 lev (in small change! - there is an automatic machine) to pack a suitcase in film in Boryspil 30 hryvnia, in Varna 10lev (60 hryvnia). The weight of the suitcase is not more than 23 kg. )))

As can be seen from my review, there are very few comments on the hotel, and even then they are all insignificant. Edelweiss is ideal for tourists with the same vacation requirements as my family. The price corresponds to the quality. Enjoy the beautiful nature, a foreign and interesting country, its culture and mentality. Have a good rest!! !
