Holidays in Sozopol 2015
We were in Sozopol from July 23 to August 2.2015, we took a ticket at the travel agency "Albena Travel". This was the first trip to Bulgaria and hopefully not the last as Sozopol is amazing. We traveled from Kyiv by bus, of course it’s advantageous in terms of money, but if you have the opportunity to fly, you need to fly, the road is exhausting (at least 24 hours on the road). We lived in the hotel "Time out" on the street. V. Levski. The location is not bad - it takes 2-3 minutes to walk to the beach in the New Town, 8-10 minutes to the beach between the new and the old town. The music from all the cafes on the embankment in the New City was a little annoying - next time we will settle closer to the Old City. The food is very tasty, satisfying, the portions are HUGE. By prices (exchange rate: $1 = 1.75 lev, 1 euro = 1.92 lev, 20 UAH = 1 lev): set lunch (soup, second, dessert): 6-7 lev, first courses: 1.5 - 2 leva, vegetable salads: 3 - 5 leva. Meat and fish are more expensive, for example, we ordered sach (such as a roast with meat, sausages, potatoes and vegetables) - they brought a huge frying pan (you can safely take it for three), it cost around 11-12 leva. The fish is more expensive, I ordered a grilled tsipura, it cost 15 leva, but the fish is big and very tasty. Mussels in different sauces were our passion - we ordered 1 kg for 10 leva, if you cook it yourself - in fish stores 1 kg of mussels costs 3 leva. The trouble with local beer, tasteless, we bought imported. Rakia is a miracle, especially muscat. In a restaurant, 50 grams costs about 3 leva, a bottle of 0.5 in a supermarket - about 10 leva. The milk is very tasty, drinking yoghurts and ayran are sold at every step, the cost is 1 - 1.5 leva for a jar of 0.5. You will not stay hungry - there are a million options for a bite to eat on the embankment: corn (2 lev), pastries sweet and with meat (about 1.5 - 2 lev), pizza (a huge piece - 2.5 lev), fried fish, shawarma, pancakes with various fillings, donuts, etc. The beaches are free, there are umbrellas and sun loungers on the beaches, lifeguards are on duty until 18:00. The cost of an umbrella and a deck chair is 6 levs each for the whole day. You can come with your umbrella and settle down on unoccupied sections of the beaches. The sea was mostly calm, it was stormy for a couple of days, there were no jellyfish, but algae washed up a couple of times. Unpleasant, but if you sail away, the sea is clear. We took an hour sightseeing boat trip - 10 lev per adult. The old town with its streets and houses is a miracle : )) For 10 days of rest, we had no desire to take any excursions, since Sozopol was enough with our heads. In the evening, if you want silence, you can go to establishments between the new and the old city: the Aloha bar (a very romantic place on the very shore, cocktails cost 6-15 lev), the Ginny bar rock bar is generally a bomb, in the evening they put tables right on the beach, and the surf is almost at your feet : ) If your soul and stomach ask for a holiday, you can go to the embankment in the new city: it is dotted with restaurants with live music and entertainment (national dances). I recommend this city to everyone, because it is cozy, calm, hospitable, tasty and just good there : )
