Of the minuses: no one thinks about the safety of the guests, a layer of plaster and concrete fell off my head from the balcony, a piece of concrete smashed the phone screen, the reaction of the administration was 'Oh, the wind blew it away', no apologies, no regrets, no thoughts about what could happen , if a larger piece fell off on the head of the guest, the one that they hastily ran to shoot down after the incident (where were their eyes 'before'? After all, with the naked eye it was clear that the problem exists). The damage was calculated by the owner of Sunny himself (after our quite reasonable question, who, where and how will change the broken phone screen, because the chief administrator, a naive soul, did not even think that it was necessary, at least to apologize for the inconvenience caused), who and decided that 'in Bulgaria such a repair costs 20 dollars and not a cent more'))), by the way, these twenty dollars and my phone, which they were supposed to repair for this money, according to our preliminary agreement, we received only after almost a week, under accompanying comments that the phone is not new; ))
- paid Wi-Fi, which works no more than five minutes, after which you wait half an hour until it works again and if you are very lucky, for the next couple of minutes. We need the Internet for work and it is not entirely clear what to do with such a connection ( 20 dollars for 14 days), we save ourselves with free, rather frisky Internet in some restaurants. When asked to solve the communication problem, the administrator shrugged her shoulders and said that she refused to understand the essence of the problem, since she herself hangs on the Internet and personally everything works well for her; ) ))
- in the mini-bar all drinks are at room temperature, when asked to see if everything is in order with him, another nice administrator has established in a non-contact way that everything works like clockwork and 'do you need a cold? So this is not a refrigerator ')))) what is the demand from them?! )))))
Will we return to Sozopol? - certainly and more than once, a wonderful city)))
Will we stay at the Sunny? - never) in a city in which so many hotels are concentrated, there is no longer a desire to return to that place where they will smile nicely exactly as long as you are a 'convenient' client, for whom, by a lucky chance, everything will work properly in the room.
p. s. if the floor of the balcony falls on your head, be sure that the administrators will dig you in with invariably sweet smiles in a beautiful place, because the territory is really well-groomed with love)))
The rooms are cozy and clean, there is a bath, not a shower (this may be important to someone). The room has a dryer, a small refrigerator with a mini-bar (this is in addition to the standard set of furniture, of course).
Breakfasts are the most common - scrambled eggs, cereals, cold cuts of sausages and cheese, pancakes, vegetables, fruits, sweets, drinks, etc. Buffet.
The hotel is located at a sufficient distance from the city, but if you are a young couple (like us), then in 20 minutes you can slowly walk to the center.
In general, I really liked the hotel, it was comfortable to relax.
Now about the hotel. Very European, rooms are booked half a year in advance by Spaniards, Italians, Germans... In Russia and Ukraine, rooms are only thrown out to the market standard and improved, because. Europe redeems English courtyards, I specified. Very nice staff at the reception, everything is solved quickly and clearly. Cleaning every day, we did not leave a tip, but despite this, they cleaned well. The room is cozy, small, but it was enough for us. Everything works, they used the refrigerator for their needs, although it was only for the minibar, but no one made any comments to us... Food is a separate issue. Delicious!!!! ! Eat until you burst! There was always enough. Choice of 30 dishes for sure! So I combined and the monotony did not bother. Awesome pastries and honey watermelons! Staff - smile and tact. The pool is great, helped out when it was stormy. The little one didn't get out of it. After reading the reviews of other hotels, I can’t believe that this is Bulgaria... But apparently we were lucky the first time with the choice of the hotel!
ATTENTION! If you eat with a child, then keep in mind that all rooms with sea views overlook the pool, and there is music at the bar. We were even advised at the reception that if we sleep during the day, we should not take it (we wanted to pay extra, take a sea view). And I am very grateful, you were right!
In general, you choose, but I advise. If walking to the Old City in 15-20 minutes does not scare you, you are in Sunny.
There is an opportunity to go to the out-of-town campsites "Goldfish" and "Kavatsite" where the beaches are very good, and the shallow sea, the child really liked it. Yes, and it seemed to me that the sea was calmer there. You can get there for 1 euro per person, trains go there from the square to the street. Republican.
The hotel pleased with its territory, the rooms also fell in love. There was even a bathroom, which is rare for Bulgaria. The only complaint is about the food. Even though I read the reviews, I still decided to take the half-board. If breakfasts are anything at all, then dinners are horrendous. Spoiled the mood for the whole holiday. The hotel has a restaurant, they prepare dinners, in case someone suddenly dine, but there were no people who wanted to and they fed us this food. Almost always there was soup for dinner (we ate it in a cafe for lunch, also for dinner ???!!!! ) + a cold main course, or barely warmed up... in general, fu... The rooms were cleaned normally, we lozhili almost always $ 1, but the quality was constant. Either they fold the towels, or they don't. But this is not so important.
The weather wasn't very good either. It was always cloudy and windy. For 2 days there was a green flag, mostly yellow and red. Sea is warm. The evenings are cool. It didn’t work out especially well, because. by 13 o'clock we went to the room, the child was sleeping.
The prices are expensive for Belarusians. It is better not to translate according to our courses)))
In general, if you do not pay attention to the little things, then we had a good rest. But I wanted heat and a calm sea))) Next time we won’t eat in the velvet season, we didn’t like it.
The hotel staff is quite friendly. Always smiling and welcoming. The hotel rooms are very clean, white towels and linens. The room was cleaned every day. The room has a TV, telephone, air conditioning, a mini-fridge (we used it at our discretion and there were no comments), a huge bed with a very comfortable solid mattress and other furniture (wardrobe, table, bedside tables). There is a mini-bar, but it is paid (and, in principle, not cheap), the prices are indicated in the hotel card under the phone. Also, it is worth canceling, very comfortable bathroom. Huge mirror, washbasin, hair dryer, bathtub and toilet. Meals - we had only breakfast (from 8.00 to 10.00). In the cafe inside the hotel every morning they served the so-called "buffet": tomato-cucumbers, salad something like "Greek", two types of cheese (hard and feta cheese), 5-6 types of sausages, boiled sausages, scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, muesli flakes, pancakes, toast, croissants, jam, honey, chocolate, yogurt, butter, toast, cakes and other pastries, watermelon, peaches and plums. Two types of juice orange and cherry (from the machine) and a free coffee machine (coffee of your choice). Breakfast was enough through the roof.
The beach is across the road from the hotel. It is worth noting (I think many will be interested) opposite the hotel is not just a beach, but the only nudist beach in Sozopol. Nudists occupy an area of about 10-15 meters of the beach, the usual beach is further and further away. There are umbrellas and deck chairs, but they are not quite cheap - 5-6 lev (1 dollar - 1.5 lev), so it's better to have your own umbrella and towel.
The water in the sea is really very clean. You can stand up to your neck in the water and look at the pebbles and shells at the bottom. I can't even believe that this is the Black Sea.
Not far from the hotel (5 minutes walk) is one of the busiest streets of Sozopol - st. Ropotamo. Cafes, clubs, attractions, souvenirs, clothes, various sweets, fast food, etc. located along the entire length of the street. Delicious pizzas, pastries, baked pancakes and donuts (still small, 12-15 pieces each) with a variety of toppings. Mountains (no, really) mountains of ice cream with all sorts of flavors and additives... Everything is not very expensive and very tasty.
Many fish and meat dishes cooked on the grill. I also advise you to try the fried fish "tsa-tsa". What you need for beer. Who loves seafood - you won’t lose, there is also plenty of this and everything is available.
Barbecue is cooked very, very well, and pork kebab costs three times cheaper than beef kebab. We bought most often shish kebab wrapped in pita (something like a hot dog) with the addition of grilled vegetables, an amazing dish, honestly.
I don't recommend trying the national Bulgarian cuisine. I don’t know, but everything that we haven’t tried is either too fatty or oversalted and with the addition of a huge amount of spices. Sometimes it was not even immediately possible to understand what the dish consisted of, due to a real overabundance of spices.
The hotel is 15-20 minutes walk from the old Sozopol. Old narrow streets and wooden two-story houses. A lot of greenery. Trees with figs and pomegranates grow like our apple trees. All the streets are saturated with the smell of the sea, sweet figs and fragrant pastries (well, sometimes something else, but I think we'll miss it... ).
We went around a variety of cafes and restaurants, but especially stopped at one on the street. Sea cliffs 25 - "Tangra". The restaurant resembles a fisherman's house (if you are a party-goer and love luxury, this is not the place for you). Everything is very simple, but a stunning view from the windows of the restaurant (view of the island of St. Ivan and the Bourgas Bay). Many come to photograph the sunset over the sea. In a cafe, I advise you to try mussels in shells (portion 800 g - 10 lev).
Another plus, if you chose Sozopol for your vacation, is a trip to Istanbul (I don’t know how it will be, but in August 2012 entry into Turkey was visa-free). The cost of an excursion to Istanbul is from 88 lev to 140 lev, depending on how many days, with or without meals, etc. There are trains as excursions, and there are just for the purpose of shopping. We didn't go, but we asked a lot about the trip. If for one day, then departure at 22.30 from Sozopol and arrival in Istanbul at 5.30. Back somewhere at 18.00 and in Sozopol in the aisles of 2 am. If you wish, take more money with you .
In general, Sozopol is a very beautiful and interesting city. Holidays with the family will be unique. Trips on “brychkas” (60 lev), boat trips on the Black Sea (10 lev per adult), various attractions, a lot of all sorts of sweets and of course the sea itself will not let you quickly forget about yourself. There is something to remember and I remember my vacation in Sozopol only with a smile.
