Arrival - the airport in Burgas is small, but since we arrived in the morning, at 6.00 (departure from Kyiv-Zhulyany at 4.40), there were no queues. The host party Solvex, quickly seated us on buses, 30 min. and we are in Sunny Beach.
Hotel Sunny Planex 3* is a small family hotel with 11 standard rooms and two two-room suites. We got a regular number. In the room: bed, wardrobe, mini-bar (empty, we used instead of a refrigerator), TV (4 Russian channels, the rest are Bulgarian and European), a balcony, a table, a chair, a bathroom. node (toilet, washbasin, shower). At first, the air conditioner did not work (they fixed it right away), water dripped a little from under the washbasin (not critical). There is no safe, we locked money and passports in a suitcase, and sometimes we forgot phones, a laptop, nothing was lost. Cleaning every day, change of towels and linen every 3 days. Breakfast - buffet, but monotonous (scrambled eggs, croutons, pancakes, sausages, sliced vegetables, sausages, cheese, tea, coffee). At other times for extra You can order alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks for a fee. The territory is small, but neat, a swimming pool (you can use it at any time of the day). Wi-Fi - at the reception and the area near the pool is free, I did not find out about the room. The staff is friendly, the manager and her assistant speak Russian, the rest of the staff is a bit tight. We were lucky that we were given a room immediately upon arrival. In many hotels, people were waiting for the prescribed 14.00
I liked the location. To the beach 7 min. unhurried step (marked by a stopwatch). On the beach, 60% of the territory is a paid zone, there are a lot of people on the remaining free zone. The weather was hot and the sea was warm. Attention!! ! On the beach, if you take valuables, do not leave them unattended (we were carried away, and our neighbors were robbed).
In the neighboring building (if you stand with your back to the exit of the hotel - to the right, the Elite-tour sign), on the second floor there is a branch of Alliance Bank, with very good exchange rates. If you go to the main street, then to the right (50 meters) there will be a supermarket "Zora", to the left (150 meters) a family restaurant "Memory" (we liked it there most of all, large portions, fast service, good prices). The hotel is located almost on the outskirts of Sunny Beach, within walking distance (30 min) from the new Nessebar, where on the main street Father Paisiy, a lot of cafes (I recommend going to Mehana Jumbo and trying mussels in a creamy garlic sauce), points with souvenirs and a supermarket " Mladost” (there are the cheapest prices, but more on prices below). You can also take a ride to Old Nessebar by bus or train (on wheels). Across the road from the hotel, on the way to the beach, you can rent bicycles and Segway (a kind of scooter with an electric motor, a cool thing).
Excursions: We ourselves went by bus to Old Nessebar (after printing out a map with sights from the Internet), we liked it very much. We also took an excursion for 1 day along the route: Driven Stones - Balchik - Cape Kaliakra, I also really liked it.
Currency exchange: Much has already been written on the Internet that money should be changed only in banks, Crown exchange offices, in extreme cases, in exchange offices at hotels, I recommend listening (we saw a couple of people who were indignant that they were scammed in exchange offices, but them this divorce is legal, there is nowhere to complain). We, as I wrote earlier, changed at the Alliance Bank branch, the rate is 1.95 leva for 1 euro. For comparison, at Crown exchange offices - 1.91, at the airport 1.59.
Prices: I will give everything in Bulgarian leva, to get the price in euros - divide by 1.95.
Transport: bus to Old Nessebar - 1, by train to the same place 3. Segway rental - 20/hour, bike 20/day. From Old Nessebar you can go by boat (hydrofoil type Comet) to Sozopol 25 lev. Car rental from 60. Gasoline 95th - 2.61, diesel fuel - the same amount.
Restaurants: dinner for two costs from 25-40 lev. An example in the Memory restaurant is steaks from the Black Sea shark katran (400 gr. ) + fried Sargan (for some reason they called it eel) on the grill (400 gr. ) + Shopska salad (300 gr. ) + a glass of fresh juice + 0.5 beer " Kamenitsa”, cost us 36 lev. Mussels in Mehana Jumbo cost 8 leva (a huge dish).
Excursions: in Nessebar, as he wrote, they went on their own, an excursion from a tour operator for the whole day cost 99 levs for each.
Shops: as I wrote, the cheapest supermarket "Mladost" in New Nessebar (there is also one in Sunny Beach, but it is more difficult to go further and find it). Price examples: Sujuk 200 gr. -4.04, Lukanka 200 gr. -4.66, bread-1.12, Kamenitsa beer-1.17, water 1.5 l. -0.72, Rakia "Pomorie Muscat" - 11.48. Prices in Zora, which is near the hotel, are 10-25% higher, prices in shops on the main street are 40-50% higher. Prices in Duty-Free: the order of numbers, such as in Mladost, only not in levs but in euros, i. e. twice as expensive.
Departure: transfer to Varna airport 2.5 hours. Baggage packing - queue (price for a medium suitcase 10 levs, for a large one 15 levs). The criteria for determining large - medium are clear only to packers. The flight was delayed by 1 hour. On the way 1 hour 15 minutes. and we are in Zhuliany. It was there that they realized that they had returned to Ukraine, because. there were queues at passport control min. 30 - 40.
